About this property

3 Bed in Chediston (oc-b43313)

A splendid barn conversion, nestled in the peaceful Suffolk countryside at Chediston, this thatched hideaway offers an abundance of original character. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom holiday home, which is 3.5 miles from Halesworth, has been designed with accessible features to suit wheelchair users. Venture out from your base to discover the tranquil beauty of your Suffolk surroundings. Head into Halesworth to stock up on local produce or dine out in a friendly pub. Make your way 13 miles to scenic Dunwich on the magnificent Suffolk Heritage Coast. Here, you can spend time on the beach and wander through the colourful heathland. Secluded Covehithe Beach, 15.5 miles away, where you can see a small church within the ruins of a larger one, is another picturesque spot. Bustling Southwold, with its independent shops, eateries, quirky pier and sandy beach, is 13 miles away.

Make your way into the traditional barn via the convenient ramp. Emerge in the open-plan lounge/diner, with its impressive, high vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and revealed brickwork. Gather on the soft seating to relax, socialise and watch the Smart TV between your trips out. Sit up at the table in the dining area, which has a flagstone floor, to enjoy your celebratory meals. Prepare these feasts in the kitchen, which has been adapted for wheelchair users and includes accessible cabinets. There is a WC in this part of the barn too. Also downstairs, you’ll find one of your twin bedrooms and the accessible bathroom, which includes a specialist, assisted bath, a hoist system and a walk-in shower, with a removable chair. From the ground-floor twin bedroom, there is a lift up to the king-size bedroom, which can also be accessed via an external door and a set of stairs. Climb the stairs or take the chairlift up to the second twin bedroom.

Spend pleasant summer afternoons together out in the courtyard, sipping cold drinks or cups of tea. Guests are also very welcome to enjoy the wider farm and its lovely shared gardens. There is private parking here for two cars, with ramp access from the driveway.
