Enjoy The Present, a beautiful, tastefully furnished home just minutes from Ellicottville and Holiday Valley Ski Resort. This home boasts an idyllic country setting with wonderful views, large rooms and cozy charm throughout.
The house has been completely remodeled. It is located on a 3.75 acre lot with a great deal of privacy. There are two bedrooms on the lower level, one with a twin bed and the other with a pull-out couch. Also on that level, there is a full kitchen, dining room with wood burning stove, large family room and full bath. Lastly, there is a wrap-around porch, where our guests can drink in awesome views from the hot tub.
On the second level, there two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and a set of bunk beds, the other with a queen size bed and a twin bed. There is also a full bath on the second level.
Ellicottville is nestled in the Enchanted Mountains of Western New York. The quaint village is full of lovely shops and specialty stores, as well as lively pubs and excellent dining establishments. The village plays host to several festivals and special events weekends throughout the year. Holiday Valley, one of the premier Ski slopes in the Northeast, lies on the edge of the village. Other outdoor activities include cross country skiing, golfing, biking, hiking, antiquing and fishing. Allegany State park is located 13 miles to the south. The Village of Salamanca is nearby and is home to a Seneca Nation Casino.

Very cozy, gorgeous views, super private
This home is in the perfect location! Literally on the back of the mountain that Holiday Valley tubing is on (our 4 year olds loved the kids hill and it was only $5 for 2 or 3 hours). It was a very quick (a little over 5 minute) drive into town. The property has awesome views and was perfect for our family (twin 4 year old boys and a 2 year old boy). We did a little get away with my husbands parents and conveniently, were able to sled right on the property (the little hill leading to the driveway was perfect!) and hike up the moutain through the woods in our snow shoes. It was clean (downstairs bathroom is in rough shape, just shower upstairs!). It was very warm, cozy and accomodating. Great family room, very user friendly kitchen with plenty of room for all the extra people, and very spacious. Great big table for 8+ to eat at, plus an extra table seating 4 was nice! Big bedrooms (kids loved the bunk beds), huge bathrooms, and all around a very comforting weekend! The plow guy came without having to be called (did an awesome job, too!). There was plenty of salt to take care of the ice at the entry way and a bunch of shovels around for when we needed them. I would definitely stay in this home again. Not a modern unit with updated furnishings and all the finest, but perfect for a little family get away! A little short on dish towels and dishclothes.
Can't beat a weekend away in ellicottville. This house is a little dated, but the owners are first class. We had a mild problem and owners took care of things immediately. Thank you, we had a great time.
The house was quite dated and hot tub broken
Although the house had ample space and beds for our two families, it was very old and dated. And a 10 min drive from the hills. There were minimal supplies like soap and toilet paper - no bath or hand soap or shampoo and only about 3 rolls of TP for 8 people for 3 days. Definitely no extras! Lots of dish soap and room deodorizer a! Didn't use the laundry, although it looked newish. Generally, the cleanliness was not great - e.g. broom left and dirt swept into corner of foyer, inside of dishwasher was badly stained yellow and Fridge had to be wiped down inside. We were especially disappointed that the hot tub was not working. The reason we booked this place was for the hot tub after skiing. The phone didn't connect either. And no cell service. So once we got the wifi we emailed the owners, who did call us back. They promised to send a repair guy to fix the hot tub on Saturday, then again in Sunday. No one ever showed up and we had no hot tub all weekend. About two weeks after we got home I did get a refund for about $100. And the owners assured us they'd repaired the hot tub and they do have weekly service. The place was inexpensive compared to many in Eville, but you get what you pay for...and sometimes not even that.
We are very sorry that this group did not find our property up to their standards. We try very hard to provide an enjoyable stay for all of our guests.
They called upon their arrival with two concerns. The land line did not work, nor did the hot tub. The landline issue was corrected within a few minutes.
The hot tub not working proved to be a more difficult challenge. Our hot tub is professionally serviced every Wednesday, and was working fine two days prior to their arrival. As they arrived on Friday evening, I assured them I would contact the hot tub company first thing Saturday morning. Which we did. We never promised we could get it fixed on the weekend, but said we would do our best. Which we did. We contacted several pool and spa companies around Western New York, but none could go up to service the tub until the middle of the following week. And this was conveyed, with our apologies, to our guests. (The hot tub repair required both a new pump and a new heating unit.) We certainly understand the frustration that exists when expected amenities are not available. We did our best to correct the situation for them, and when we couldn't, provided a refund that we felt was appropriate, and consistent with standards found in the vacation rental literature which we reviewed.
That they were concerned about the cleanliness of the house caught us off guard. We have had 15 other group of guests stay at this property during the current ski season, and as you can see from our other reviews, the cleanliness of the home has never been a concern. We have a wonderful cleaning outfit, thought to be one the best, and most reliable in Ellicottville.
We certainly value all of our guests and will continue to do our best to provide them with an enjoyable vacation. We appreciate the input we receive from our guests, and are truly sorry that sometimes events beyond our control have a negative impact on their experience.
Great House for a stay with the dogs....
My wife, two dogs, and three other couples were able to stay at this house feb 9th thru the 12th. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves with each couple having their own bedroom and a fantastic living/dining room setup that allowed for all of us to have meals together. The best part was being able to bring the dogs to enjoy the stay with us and the privacy of the house and surrounding area. Holiday valley ski resort is an easy 7 min drive. The hot tub was great and the place was clean with fresh linens and bath towels. This place is great for families and friends that want to stay near the mountains with their dogs on a friendly budget price. We will definitely stay here again.
Spacious Retreat Close to Ellicottville
My family and I (6 adults, one toddler) rented this property and it worked out great. Well equipped, short drive to the hill, lots of room for up to 3 families. Recommend.
All we needed for a successful girls weekend getaway!
The house was clean and well-maintained, just a short drive to Ellicottville. The hot tub was in great working order. We had a very nice time.
We are also only 5 minutes from the Ellicottville Tubing Company
