Overview

About the property

This adorable, newly renovated cabin is located in the heart of the Upper Buffalo River Wilderness area and is less than 10 miles in either direction to Jasper, Arkansas or to the Ponca and Boxley areas. Jasper is a quaint town where restaurants, eclectic shops and groceries can be found. And, the Boxley Valley offers many opportunities to view the wild elk that live there. We are also only minutes from several access points of the Buffalo National River and from many of the best hiking trails in the region. The cabin is located on 11 private acres and is at the end of a dead-end road, so it provides much privacy. Deer, bunnies, turkeys, and hummingbirds are often seen at the cabin. And, in the warmer months, hundreds of fireflies light up our woods!

Our cabin has one bedroom downstairs with a sleeping loft upstairs. It also has two full baths located on the main floor. In addition to the inside amenities, we have a wrap-around covered porch that makes being outside and experiencing nature very enjoyable.

PERFECTION!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect place to stay and get away from it all! None of us were ready to leave when it came time. The house is equipped with everything you will need! Ziplock to matches to spices, coffee filters, soap. The things you forget to remember at the store! The location to all the outdoor stuff was great! Hikes & Horshoe Canyon Ranch for fireworks & their Via Ferrata....the very best!! Buffalo River Outfitters for our canoe trip....awesome! Thank you for sharing your very special spot on this planet with us!!

Amazing Cabin and Hosts!

  • 5 of 5

This was by far the best cabin we have ever stayed at! The host was amazing! Unbelievable location and views. Everything was so clean and well stocked. Firefly Cabin was beautifully decorated and had the best view with the wrap around porch. We enjoyed the campfire, watching the wildlife and the beautiful view! We will definitely be back!

Quiet, Clean and Comfy!

  • 5 of 5

The Firefly Cottage was wonderful! It was just as pictured and was very clean and well-stocked. It was so nice to have everything from soap and shampoo to plastic wrap and coffee-already there. We loved the wrap around porch, the gas grill, the hummingbird feeders and being away from it all! The beds were comfortable and the cottage was very tastefully decorated. We found hiking trails and kayaking within a short drive and Walmart was about 25 min away. The information book in the cottage was very helpful as well. The road to the cabin is through the hills with a lot of up and down and hairpin turns and the driveway is pretty steep! We had a full size pickup so we made it fine- just be aware. That was the only thing we were caught off guard about. We loved the fire pit and the beautiful pasture next door! We would definitely consider staying there again if in the area!

Beautiful cabin in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cabin in the woods with a nice big porch all the way around. The master bedroom has a king bed which is very comfortable. The attached master bath was huge with a tub and a shower...all very clean! There is another small bathroom with a shower. There are three single beds in the upstairs loft which is warmer than the downstairs but there are fans if you need them. A/c worked really good downstairs! No problem at all corresponding with Kathy or Mark! In fact Kathy was always quick to respond to any questions we had. A very nice personal touch with cookies welcoming us upon our arrival! It was heaven sitting on the porch having our morning coffee listening to the birds and watching the hummingbirds! The cabin is in a very central location for any activities you want to do. We hiked and swam but sorry to say the water was too low to raft. Maybe next time! I would recommend staying at Firefly Cottage to anyone wanting a little getaway!

We were impressed with this property from the moment we walked onto the front porch!

  • 5 of 5

This adorable cabin is private, comfortable, and welcoming. It was a great space for the two of us, but would be equally comfortable for up to 3 more. The wrap around front porch was perfectly peaceful any time of day. The master suite was roomy, and the bed was so comfortable. Having a separate shower and tub was very convenient, and the full size washer/dryer was a bonus! We didn’t prepare any meals in the kitchen, but it would have been easy to do so. One of our favorite things was looking out the front door, after dark, no porch lights on, and seeing where this cabin got its name~ the fire flies were everywhere!
