Something genuinely out of the ordinary , the annexe on Taggs Island, one of the Thames' largest houseboat communities, reached by a road bridge and set among the river homes and moored boats. It's a compact, characterful space for two under a pitched, skylit roof, with a workspace for travel or working days and a garden to sit out in. Hampton Court, Bushy Park and the riverside pubs are a walk away, central London is a short train ride, and Heathrow is around 25 minutes by car , an easy, unusual base for sightseeing or a calm night either side of a flight.
