THE VRBO BEAR STAYED HERE AND LOVED IT

The Tree House sleeps up to 13 total, 2 in the Master Bedroom with a king-size bed, 4 in two queens which are located in two separate bedrooms, 3 in one bunk bed (twin over full) located in the bedroom/game room, 2 in one bunk bed (twin over twin), located in an alcove, and 2 in a sleeper sofa. The house has large casement windows and wrap-around decks, for enjoying the breathtaking views. There are solid wood, 6-panel doors throughout. A jetted tub is available to lounge in. There is a private, covered, outdoor hot tub to relax in after a fun-filled day in the mountains. The most outstanding amenity is the awesome mountain views (refer to photo # 11 as an example which displays the structure known as 'La Ventana Espanol' - The Spanish Window), which appears to be only a small slit in the distant mountain, but is in fact a vertical drop of over a thousand feet.

Pagosa Springs is a mountain community in Southwest Colorado, offering 320 days of sunshine a year, beautiful scenery including mountains, lakes and waterfalls, lots of outdoor recreation, winter sports and much more.

There is much to do to keep busy. The TREE HOUSE is located just a short walk away from a pristine lake stocked with trout and bass. When you are finished soaking in the on-site hot tub, you can try the famous hot springs in Pagosa. An abundance of outdoor activities makes Pagosa Springs a nature lover's paradise. Lake species include rainbow trout, brown trout, largemouth bass, perch, and others. From the huge deck, there is a greater than 180' view of mountains, and a telescope (with stand) is provided for better viewing.

River fishing is available in town on the San Juan River. The quality waters of the San Juan below Navajo Lake is world renowned for the incredible trout fly fishing. Trophy hunting is available in the San Juans. Wolf Creek Ski area boasts the most snow in Colorado, with an average of over 600 inches per year!

Come play in the mountains and stay in the middle of it all in Pagosa Springs. The Wolf Creek Ski Area is about 20 miles away and the main roads are always kept clean. This ski area gets more snow than any other ski area in Colorado, on average. You will not want to leave!

Features include satellite and three HDTVs. The following are also provided: DVD player, CD player, ping pong table, full kitchen, microwave, dishwasher and large refrigerator. All cooking utensils and dishes are provided in a gourmet kitchen. This is a chef's dream for a vacation home. Bedding and linens are provided. An oversize washer and dryer are also available for your convenience.

With its large bedroom/game room, which sleeps 3, it offers the perfect 'get away' spot for kids of all ages. The house, with 3200 SF approximately, is suitable for a family reunion, and with 3 acres there is plenty of room to stretch. It is also ideal for a romantic getaway, with its gourmet kitchen, dining table near the fireplace where a nice meal can be followed by a visit to the on-site hot tub, and capped off with a leisurely viewing of the mountain and alpenglow at sunset on the large wrap-around deck.

Beautiful Pagosa Springs CO Vacation!

VRBO Bear stayed here

Aug 16, 2011

I had a wonderful time in this vacation home in Pagosa Springs with friends and family. The house, aptly called the "tree-house," was on two levels and each morning I awoke to breathtaking views of the trees and mountains and could listen to the myriad of birds just outside the windows. The hummingbirds were spectacular to watch as they were coaxed to the porch by two well-positioned feeders. It was a real treat for me to witness a double rainbow during my stay and enjoyed the refreshing mountain air I grew up on. Here I could completely relax. I especially liked being able to explore in the garden with the cubs and also visit the fishing lake which was only a 2 minute drive from the house. What a comfortable stay I had with my family in this spacious home. The young ones could watch TV in the playroom while the adults ate dinner around the dining table. Breakfasts were fun for the kids as they sat at the bar counter and were served from a spacious and well stocked kitchen. There were more than enough beds for everyone and even a pack and play for the littlest sibling. The hot tub was an added bonus and was enjoyed by all ages. One day we took the steam train from Durango to Silverton up the mountain pass and were thrilled to see the river and awesome scenery. The whole family had fun going down the river on tubes near the hot springs only 10 minutes from the house and finished off that day with an ice cream from a restaurant that came recommended by the owner. There were other useful tips about where to go and what to see that helped us make the most of our time in Pagosa Springs. The owner and his property management company were professional and friendly and made the stay extremely easy, enjoyable and memorable. I’m already longing for the mountains again and the view from the wraparound porch... The VRBO Bear

Beautiful, quiet cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the Treehouse!!! Lots of room for 2 families - 9 people total. The cabin had everything we needed and was a great home base to go into town, hiking, horseback riding and more. The lake is a few minute drive from the cabin but you can't see it from the house. You do have amazing views of the mountains! There is no AC but we had all the windows open and the fans on and we were fine. The owners were fabulous and checked on us when we got there as well as the day we checked out. They were very quick to answer any of our questions. We'd love to stay here again!!

Room with a view!

  • 5 of 5

We had 12 people stay at the Treehouse from the 21st through 27th of June. 9 adults, 3 kids (7, 3, and 1). There was PLENTY of room for everyone and the bed breakdown fit our needs. The upstairs bathroom near the master is NOT a private bathroom so be prepared for that. Might have to throw something on to stumble around for the midnight pee.

KITCHEN: Very well stocked. Other renters appear to share things they don't want to take home so there's a good supply of spices and some non-perishable food. We left about 50 Otter Pops in the freezer so enjoy! Also marked things like maple syrup, peanut butter with the date we actually opened the package. Owners: There are a few things in the kitchen that need replacement. There were a couple of pots where the non-stick coating was coming off. This can get in people's food. Also, knives (for slicing tomatoes, onions etc) were dull. A knife sharpener would be good (unless there is one and I just didn't see it.)

BATHROOMS:

Plenty of room. Downstairs bedrooms are a Jack and Jill set up. Upstairs bathroom also has a storage room off of it. Great for storing paper towels, snacks etc.

GAME AREA:

Poker table, ping pong table. Hours of awesome. Especially when you send someone out to the Malt Shoppe for ice cream while you're playing. Plenty of books and board games. Parents- be forewarned, there is a Cards Against Humanity with the games. So you may want to move that if you don't want your pre-teens or teens playing that game. Very adult oriented.

DECK/OUTDOOR AREA:

Hot tub was great and well cared for. Shock and chlorine on site for maintenance. HUGE, wrap-around deck with ample seating. Grill is charcoal and is outdated. Previous occupants left it full of half burned charcoal and ashes. OWNERS- Last step going up the outside stairs at front of house has an exposed screw coming out of the step. Sticks up 1/2" or so. Tripping hazard especially for small children.

LOCATION:

This is the best part. It is secluded. It's off highway 84 at the east end of Pagosa so you are out of the main congested area of the town. The BEST restaurants are on the east side so you are close! For breakfast, Rose or the Peak. Riff Raff has best burgers and beer in town. Kip's has awesome tacos and nachos, Pagosa Baking for lunch and breakfast can't be beat. Fresh baked everything. Malt Shoppe has ice cream and burgers.

Lots of room to roam

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Tree House on a family vacation and it was big enough that we all had our own space to relax and get away. Three living areas, plenty of bathrooms, two game areas (ping pong table and a card table), three bedrooms, room for 13 people in beds, and a wrap around deck on the second floor that gives you little reason to be inside at all. The property is fenced off so it is very dog friendly and there's a dog wash station! This house made us so happy we brought our dogs with us. Close enough to town to make a quick trip but far enough out that you feel secluded. Multiple mornings we sat on the deck and watched deer grazing nearby. Luxuries of modern life with wifi that supports streaming for a movie night, satellite TV, and excellent cell service you'll be able to brag to all your friends on social media each night about your adventures of the day. Would definitely stay here again!

Awesome for any stay in Pagosa with multiple families

  • 5 of 5

More than enough room to give kids space and parents. Grounds were perfect for adventurous kiddos, deck was awesome for parents to relax. Two full baths with an extra shower downstairs (total of three places to shower) and a half bath downstairs provided plenty of space. House was comfortable, clean and fully ready for visitors. Natalie was amazing to work with, ready to answer any questions immediately. Five stars.
