THE VRBO BEAR STAYED HERE AND LOVED IT

The Tree House sleeps up to 13 total, 2 in the Master Bedroom with a king-size bed, 4 in two queens which are located in two separate bedrooms, 3 in one bunk bed (twin over full) located in the bedroom/game room, 2 in one bunk bed (twin over twin), located in an alcove, and 2 in a sleeper sofa. The house has large casement windows and wrap-around decks for enjoying the breathtaking views. A jetted tub is available to lounge in. There is a private, covered, outdoor hot tub to relax in after a fun-filled day in the mountains. The most outstanding amenity is the awesome mountain views (refer to photo # 11 as an example which displays the structure known as 'La Ventana Espanol' - The Spanish Window, which appears to be only a small slit in the distant mountain, but is in fact a vertical drop of over a thousand feet.)

Pagosa Springs is a mountain community in Southwest Colorado, offering 320 days of sunshine a year, beautiful scenery including mountains, lakes and waterfalls, lots of outdoor recreation, winter sports and much more.

There is much to do to keep busy. The TREE HOUSE is located just a short walk away from a pristine lake stocked with trout and bass. When you are finished soaking in the on-site hot tub, you can try the famous hot springs in Pagosa. An abundance of outdoor activities makes Pagosa Springs a nature lover's paradise. Lake species include rainbow trout, brown trout, largemouth bass, perch, and others.

River fishing is available in town on the San Juan River. The quality waters of the San Juan below Navajo Lake is world renowned for the incredible trout fly fishing. Trophy hunting is available in the San Juans. Wolf Creek Ski area boasts the most snow in Colorado, with an average of over 600 inches per year!

Come play in the mountains and stay in the middle of it all in Pagosa Springs. The Wolf Creek Ski Area is about 20 miles away and the main roads are always kept clean. This ski area gets more snow than any other ski area in Colorado, on average. You will not want to leave!

Features include satellite and three HDTVs. The following are also provided: DVD player, CD player, ping pong table, full kitchen, microwave, dishwasher and large refrigerator. All cooking utensils and dishes are provided in a gourmet kitchen. This is a chef's dream for a vacation home. Bedding and linens are provided. An oversize washer and dryer are also available for your convenience.

With its large bedroom/game room, which sleeps 3, it offers the perfect 'get away' spot for kids of all ages. The house, with 3200 SF approximately, is suitable for a family reunion, and with 3 acres there is plenty of room to stretch. It is also ideal for a romantic getaway, with its gourmet kitchen, dining table near the fireplace where a nice meal can be followed by a visit to the on-site hot tub and capped off with a leisurely viewing of the mountain and alpenglow at sunset on the large wrap-around deck.

Beautiful Pagosa Springs CO Vacation!

VRBO Bear stayed here

Aug 16, 2011

I had a wonderful time in this vacation home in Pagosa Springs with friends and family. The house, aptly called the "tree-house," was on two levels and each morning I awoke to breathtaking views of the trees and mountains and could listen to the myriad of birds just outside the windows. The hummingbirds were spectacular to watch as they were coaxed to the porch by two well-positioned feeders. It was a real treat for me to witness a double rainbow during my stay and enjoyed the refreshing mountain air I grew up on. Here I could completely relax. I especially liked being able to explore in the garden with the cubs and also visit the fishing lake which was only a 2 minute drive from the house. What a comfortable stay I had with my family in this spacious home. The young ones could watch TV in the playroom while the adults ate dinner around the dining table. Breakfasts were fun for the kids as they sat at the bar counter and were served from a spacious and well stocked kitchen. There were more than enough beds for everyone and even a pack and play for the littlest sibling. The hot tub was an added bonus and was enjoyed by all ages. One day we took the steam train from Durango to Silverton up the mountain pass and were thrilled to see the river and awesome scenery. The whole family had fun going down the river on tubes near the hot springs only 10 minutes from the house and finished off that day with an ice cream from a restaurant that came recommended by the owner. There were other useful tips about where to go and what to see that helped us make the most of our time in Pagosa Springs. The owner and his property management company were professional and friendly and made the stay extremely easy, enjoyable and memorable. I’m already longing for the mountains again and the view from the wraparound porch... The VRBO Bear

Incredible stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 9 runners stayed at the "Tree House" for the Devil Mountain 50K race and it was one of the best vrbo rentals we have ever had. The home has a wraparound deck with incredible mountain views. We even saw some bucks passing by while eating breakfast on the deck. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Paul was also very communicative and clearly available if needed as he was kind enough to check in with us. Thank you for the wonderful stay and we'd love to be back again!

Big peaceful treehouse 2017

  • 4 of 5

This house was a great peaceful getaway. We went the end of July, beginning of August 2017. It was the time of year where you could get some rain in the afternoons but for the most part, we were okay with that. It was still a lot better than being in the TX heat. The views were nice, it was very quite, and we loved sitting outside and watching the deer and wildlife. The house was well equipped with all we needed so it was not necessary for me to bring paper towels, good kitchen knifes, etc. I wish I had brought however, some chairs to have to sit outside on the lower deck or by the fire pit and I also wish I had brought my hammock to hang in. The main floor had the kitchen, dining, den, master and closet/bath. Downstairs had the washing machine/dryer, two more bedrooms with queen beds, a jack and jill big bathroom and a large couch and chair, game table and TV. It also had bunk beds tucked around the side in case you needed extra sleeping space. Then the lowest level, probably the garage before they remodeled. Bunk bed with a queen, large couch, ping pong, and a bath separate from the shower with a dog tub. You can tell this house is family owned and loved.

The house # is hard to see so if you come at night, be well prepared to find it in the trees. We liked having it gated, our three-legged dog had a blast chasing deer and squirrels. After it rained the gate was a bit hard to open, but I'm sure that's a pretty easy fix. The hot tub we only used once, the jets did not all work and there wasn't a great view so I'm not sure that was worth the extra charges for us but all and all, very nice.

The drive into town was fast, seemed like five minutes. Our favorite spots were, Riff Raff Brewing Co., (best beer and best food), Tequila's, (Nachos and Margaritas) Farrago Market Cafe, (Goat cheese salad) and Ski & Bow Rack, (free fly fishing lessons on Saturday mornings) and we loved the people there. We did not like Kip's :( food was very bland). Best hike, Piedra Falls. The drive in is an hour but the hike is not too long and the end will take your breath away. Longest hike was Four mile hike. The drive took us about 45 minutes and the hike would have taken us two hours just to get to the fall but storm with high winds came on so fast, had we only made it half way. Trees started falling all around us and it was pretty scary but we had fun and wish we were able to finish.

Enjoy this great house, we sure loved it!!

We rented this home for a family vacation for 8. There was more than enough room for everyone. The house & views are beautiful. There were so many humming birds. There were many activities to do not far from the property. We really enjoyed our stay.

We felt like kids again! We didn't want to go home.

  • 5 of 5

This was our favorite stay yet! The first night, the owners of the house called to make sure we made it okay and if we had any questions. VERY nice people, very personable! Their house layout was similar to a tree house. I felt like a kid again! We went with my husband and our two boys. The first night we had friends and family over. They ranted and raved about how cool the views were, how beautiful the house was, and how great the location is. We BBQ'd and ate on the deck and watched the sun go down and hit the tips of the trees and light up the field as the shadows started to mix in. It was PHENOMENAL! We hung out in the hot tub that night. The next day we spent it at the lake, which isn't even 5 minutes away, and brought our paddleboards and kayaks and fishing gear. Everyone else went home that day and we spent another few days at the house. We went to a local brewery in town, went shopping in the local shops, went to the kids park so they can play on the slides and swings, and walked the river walk. The kids spent a lot of their time either outside (the property is fully fenced in) or on the lower level of the house. The master suite and kitchen/living room is upstairs, which gave the adults their alone time but also gives the kids a chance to be loud when playing the table top board games that are included or watching their own shows downstairs. We spent most of our time on the wrap around deck (which can be fully enclosed with little gates for your dogs) and drank our coffee, watched the sunsets, and ate most of our meals out there. We didn't want to go home when the time came as we found so much peace there, and it felt so good to GET AWAY. We highly recommend staying here!
