About the property

1 bed/1bath in Culver City walk 2Metro -Direct to Santa Monica Beach & Downtown

Spend your next Los Angeles vacation with us in a fun filled, newly renovated 1 Bedroom/ 1 Bath bungalow that celebrates Southern California's indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Enjoy affordable luxury in this chic retreat designed by HGTV star Lori Dennis.

Located in one of Los Angeles' most desirable neighborhoods, you will be staying in the center of Culver City's arts and architecture district. The Expo Line metro is one block away and is a straight shot to downtown Los Angeles in one direction and the beach at Santa Monica's world famous Pier at the other end. Restaurants, wine bars, furniture stores, clothing shops, movies and art galleries are all walking distance. Trader Joes and the beach are a bike ride away (and two bikes are all yours when you visit). The bungalow is centrally located in the center of Los Angeles, which makes getting around really easy, with access to the major freeways and proximity to UCLA, Sony, Silicon Beach and major hospitals.

Live like an Angeleno in your completely private bungalow and gorgeous succulent garden, shaded all from the sun in a custom designed cabana. Savor cocktails and appetizers by night under the twinkling lights. Take a private yoga lesson with LAs best Yogini Leticia G. Go to the beach and learn to surf or paddle board. Check out your favorite band or sports team at the Staples Center. Here you're in the center of it all and LA is yours!

Inside the bungalow you will find everything you need to feel completely at home during your stay.

In a fully loaded chef's kitchen, complete with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender and washer dryer, you have all the amenities you need to whip up the perfect meal.

A comfortable king sized bed sleeps two in the bedroom. A convertible sofa in the living room makes room for two more. High speed WiFi , the large flat screen TV with cable and a desk for your laptop make working and playing easy.

Little luxuries like hotel linens, towels, bathrobes and slippers pamper you throughout your stay.

You are located 4 miles from the beach and in the coastal region of the city. There's no air conditioning, but you won't need it with the moderate days and cool nights. The rooms are flooded with natural sunlight, fresh air, and there are ceiling fans in both the bedroom and the living room.

Your hosts have lived in Los Angeles for over 30 years and can point you in the right direction to make your stay absolutely perfect.

Come see what it's like to live the California Dream.

About Roy

We are a family of three who love to travel the world. When we're home in LA you can find us surfing at the beach, LACMA, the Getty, the Hollywood Bowl, the Greek, Red Diamond Yoga, Yabu Sushi, dancing away at the free concerts all over the city and at any of the live performances throughout Los Angeles. You might also know us from HGTVs the Real Designing Women where you'll see us transforming homes all over Los Angeles. Our daughter is a singer song writer who makes music videos. Collectively we've been in LA for over 50 years, and would be happy to steer you in the right direction about exciting and fun things to do in Los Angeles.

Why Roy chose Mid City

For starters we know a lot about construction and real estate in LA. We own the top interior design and construction companies in Los Angeles. We selected this property because we knew we could make a little gem that would be affordable for people around the US and the world to come and enjoy the Los Angeles lifestyle. It's in a perfectly central location where you can walk to the Expo line and easily visit Los Angeles from downtown (museums, Japan and China town, Staples Center, USC) to the Pacific Ocean at the Santa Monica Pier and everything in between. You don't have to drive or park, how cool is that? This bungalow is right smack in the center of Culver City, with all of it's restaurants, shops, art galleries, parks, hospitals, theaters, live music and Sony movie studio. It's our favorite part town and we know you will love the peace and quiet of the bungalow and it's garden when you get home from sight seeing.

What makes this bungalow unique

We love this bungalow and hope you will too. We lovingly renovated this 1940s quintessential Los Angeles apartment. In it we showcased all the things that we think are the best about California living. We also included special touches that we discovered and enjoyed from other vacation units that we visited from all around the world.

City bungalow

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time renting a space other than a hotel. Would definitely do it again! The bungalow was as lovely as in photos without any surprises. Loved the access to washer and dryer. The hosts were very pleasant and answered all of our questions prior to booking readily.

Gorgeous and great location. Works well for 1-4 people. Central to much of Los Angeles

  • 5 of 5

The street and neighborhood that the house is on is very cute, cozy, and safe. Parking is on the street but you can definitely find parking at any time. There are restaurants nearby within walking distance, a Sprouts and Trader Joes nearby also within walking or bike ride. Speaking of bikes, they offer you 2 bikes with the property including bike locks. We definitely used those for errands near the house to avoid driving. You are in LA so traffic is heavy all over. During our stay we visited Universal Studios twice which was on average a 30 min drive (not an uncommon car ride in LA). Venice Beach is less than 15 minutes away (you're on Venice Blvd at the house).

The house itself is adorable. Beautifully decorated, very comfortable with a private patio. They considered all of your needs similar to a hotel including soaps and hair dryers, plus there's a full kitchen. We made a number of meals there over our stay. The linens and beds are very comfortable, even the couch beds which worked out great for our two kids (ages 7 and 10).

We did have an issue during our stay that was no fault of the property's or managements, but they actually acted very quickly on our behalf and displayed great customer service. Owner/Manager is available by email/text/phone very quickly.

We have saved this property and will definitely stay here again and recommend to anybody.

Beautiful, cosy home for long-term stay

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed in Lori's gorgeous little bungalow for nearly 3 weeks - we are digital nomads who live + work + travel throughout the country. This home was perfectly sized for us - it felt home-y and beautifully decorated, while providing perks you usually find in hotels (plush bath robes, hotel-worthy linens, in-unit washer/dryer, bikes + locks, etc.). The location is decently walkable (Trader Joe's, grocery stores, etc. all within a 5-15 minute walk), although the bikes are helpful. Being close to the Metro line was SUPER helpful in terms of accessibility to the westside and DTLA. Note: the bungalow is behind a home, so there may be other folks around the backyard area (I never found this intrusive or noisy). Wifi is strong, the kitchen is wonderfully stocked (I cook a lot), and Lori was super friendly and responsive. Because we were a longer stay, we had to purchase things like hand soap in the bathroom, toilet paper, and dishwasher tablets. I would 100% recommend Lori's home for a stay in LA, especially if you want to feel like you're in a home-away-from-home!

Wonderful stay in a beautifully renovated, well located property

  • 5 of 5

Couldn't have asked for a more comfortable stay for our family. This newly renovated property was spotlessly clean with quality fittings and furnishings and very well located near to Culver City and the expo line Metro taking you to downtown LA or Santa Monica. It's right on Venice Blvd making a drive to Venice Beach super easy. Supermarkets and restaurants are within walking distance and freeways are easily accessible. Owners were really helpful giving us advice and helping us get settled in when we arrived late. Easily enough space for a family of four and having spent 40 days travelling from the East Coast to the West it was by far the best place we stayed in. Highly recommended
