Come and enjoy the Great Smokey National Park as never before. Escape the hustle and bustle, noise, and congestion of the hotel and motel experience by staying with us at Sugar Bear for the same price. The quite, very private setting and spectacular view makes this very clean-REAL log cabin THE cabin of choice. Sugar Bear offers a great place to relax and enjoy fantastic views of the mountains from the rocking chairs on the deck or hot tub while providing complete privacy. Sit on the swing on the patio and watch the sun rise over the Smokies and enjoy the peaceful sound of nature. This is the place for rest and relaxation!
Located between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Sugar Bear is convenient from any direction. This is one of few cabins in East Tennessee with paved roads leading to level off-street parking and easy access to the front door for guests of any age. The open and level drive way offers a place for the kids to play, and a great place to enjoy a cook out. The driveway has ample parking for up to four vehicles and is an ideal place to park the motorcycle, boat or RV. There are no steep steps or inclines to maneuver to enter Sugar Bear making this a great location for the entire family.
The cabin has two levels. On the main floor is a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room and master bedroom. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, and vistas of the Smokies from the covered deck immediately off the main level. We have just upgraded to Premium Digital Cable with all the sports channels providing the best quality viewing. For the kids (and most adults), we have games for children of any age, but you can bring your own too.
The lower level has two bedrooms with queen beds, TVs, and VCRs. Just outside is the hot tub and swing that have breathtaking views of the mountains.
Sugar Bear is a family owned cabin, and is not on a rental program and, when you call our number you are talking to the owner. We make it a point to visit monthly to ensure we are providing the best quality accommodations to our guests. We take pride in our cabin, and love to make it available for others to enjoy. You will find our cabin is older than some, but cleaner than any hotel, motel, chalet, or cabin!
Sugar Bear is a special place to stay. It is a traditional log cabin. We know not every potential guest wants to stay in a three bed room cabin, if only one bedroom is needed. The lay out of the cabin is very accommodating for those needing only one or two bedrooms.

This is a beautiful cabin and it's location could not be better. We had a wonderful time. The location of this properly makes it easy to travel anywhere. The view is magnificent. Do yourself a favor and get up to watch the sunrise. You will not regret it. We will definitely come back.
My family and I stayed at the Sugar Bear cabin for a week. The cabin was everything as described. Cozy, warm, and inviting. It had everything you need with a perfect location between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains. The girls and I really enjoyed the hot tub after our hiking adventures in the evening time. The views on the porch were wonderful, especially in the morning while drinking coffee or in the evening while the sun was setting. We would definitely stay there again if we were to return.
Sugar Bear cabin met all of our needs and expectations. It was comfy and cozy and felt just like home. It is in a great location to access Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. The hot tub was wonderful and the weather even allowed us to eat outside on the picnic table. The views were outstanding in the morning and evening. It was the space we needed to relax and have a great vacation but feel like we were home. We wanted a stand alone cabin, but wanted to focus on enjoying the area more than just what the lodging offered. Everyone slept well, the cabin offered everything we needed and the space to have privacy but fun as a family. The owner was super responsive and very accommodating when cleaning delayed our arrival to the cabin by a few hours. We will definitely look to stay here again.
After a bit of a rocky start (cleaning service failed to do their job), we found a great place to stay in the Smokies! The owner was immediately responsive and we proceeded to have a wonderful stay in Sugar Bear. It is fully stocked with kitchen supplies so we were able to do quite a bit of cooking. The view from both decks is amazing. The cabin was well laid out and even lent itself to a challenging Easter Egg Hunt for my grandson. The hot tub was clean and relaxing. It could easily rate 5 stars - again, understanding how hard it is to ensure good cleaners from a distance. The co-owners came just as we were leaving (all the way from Ohio) to make sure the problem did not occur again.
The cabin was everything we expected and more. It is convenently located between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We were able to spend some time in each location. With the Gatlinburg bypass the park was very accessable. The cabin was well stocked and had everything we needed. The porch was wonderful, we spent a great deal of time out there. Although we saw little wildlife at the cabin, during our trip we saw 7 bear, 1 elk and several deer. Next time we will schedule a bit later in the season so we can be there when the rhododendron are in bloom.
Cozy, beautiful view, easy access to gatlinburg and pigeon forge. Downstairs was very very cold even with heater on but nothing an extra blanket couldn't take care of. Plenty of linen stocked. Kitchen had all the gadgets we needed. Hot tub was a huge hit for the kids. We will definitely return.
