About Mark Chiles
My wife and I live full-time in Lubbock, Texas. We have an insurance office where we primarily offer AFLAC Insurance. I have lived in Texas my entire life (56 yrs) growing up mainly in and around San Antonio and south Texas. My wife considers herself a "military brat" and preachers daughter so is doubly dysfunctional. LOL! I attended Texas A&M and my wife graduated Abilene Christian Univ.
Mark Chiles purchased this Recreational Vehicle in 2018
Why Mark Chiles chose Terlingua
I began traveling to Terlingua Ranch at the age of 11 because my parents loved the area. I grew founder of the area everytime I visited. As I've matured in age, I find that many people from across Texas and the United States have no idea of what is out here. This is a great way for me to share this part of God's wonderful creation. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
What makes this Recreational Vehicle unique
Our rental is extremely comfortable in a very in-hospitable environment. We are also very close to one of the only swimming pools in south Brewster County. This pool is beautiful and has undergone some recent remodeling. Also close by is a laundry facility, cafe' and the ranch mgmt. office which is open 7 days a week from 8-5. This rental is a great jumping off spot for all that the Big Bend Region has to offer, yet it affords you tranquil and beautiful evenings for relaxing and star gazing.

Awesome experience all around! Fantastic customer service, extremely clean Homeaway, able to ride dirt bikes to Bad Rabbit Cafe for breakfast and dinner, and very close to Big Bend National Park (30min).
Thanks for offering your home to visitors like us!
Sweet little desert retreat
We really enjoyed our time on Mark and Michelle's property. They are such generous hosts and kind people, and our kids loved the wildlife that frequents their yard. We wish we'd had 4-wheel drive to more easily traverse the area, but overall, we really loved this desert retreat.
We sure enjoyed having you. Hope you can come see us again. We do have a repeat customer discount. Take care.
Secluded and relaxing
The property is secluded. It is very peaceful. The stay was enjoyable. The hot tub was great after a day of hiking. Mark was a great host. He told us some history of the area and we learned about the animals that visit his property. He really knows his property well. We woyld recommend anyone to stay there. It was very close to B8g Bend National Park. The Bad Rabbit cafe is close by as well as a pool. Thanks for a terrific vacation Mark.
Beautiful Remote Stay
First, know that you will be in the middle of nowhere, but that's the beauty of it! It's quiet and peaceful. Beautiful up-close views of the mountains and plenty of wildlife to see. The RV is practically new and very nice. The hot tub was enjoyable in the evenings. It is directly next to the main house, but no one was there during our stay. Also, be careful of the rocky dirt roads going in. This location is pretty close to the entrance of Big Bend, though and the town is small and quaint. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very helpful. You won't regret staying here!
Great host, beautiful property.
Did not know property was a travel trailer and never saw a pool.
This person booked through Expedia. That website does not do justice to properties and are very sketchy descriptions. Our VRBO website clearly describes our property including pictures and is specific to the location of the pool being a half mile away.
Perfect spot to relax and forget about the hustle and bustle of city life! Mark is an amazing awesome person, who was ready to help when it was needed! The wildlife was awesome! The hot tub was perfect for relaxing and star gazing! The beds are so comfortable!
We will definitely be back!
This area is also known as part of the high mountain desert of the Chihuahuan Desert. Everything here wants to poke you, prick you, bite you or sting you. It's very exciting to be out here, just be careful of where you walk. Texting while walking is highly discouraged. Must do's would include going to both the La Kiva Bar & Grill as well as the Starlight Theatre. Both have great food and entertainment.
