I am a semi retired countray girl, my husband Chad and I enjoy the quiet life, but do love to travel and go for fun country drives around the region. We head to North QLD Cairns regularly to the Tropics to enjoy the ocean & Mountains and Reef and also enjoy travelling regularly to HAwaii each year to the Islands. We have an Olive Orchard here on the farm and I have a Pet Brahman who is very friendly and loves pats and bread!
Monique Rolfe purchased this cottage in 2005
Why Monique Rolfe chose Kilbirnie
This property is ideally located in the Toowoomba North Country. An idyllic Australian Country Escape with close proximity to The beautiful Bunya Mountains - Crows Nest National Park, Coomba Falls and local wineries and Toowoomba City is approx 45 mins drive South of the Farm. Brisbane is a 2.5 hour drive as well. The proeprty has a nice mixture of Australian Native Trees and wildlife including Kangaroos, Koalas, Wallabies, Blue Wrens, Finches and Cockatoos and Parrots, their are also Echidnas, Possums, Lace Monitors, Foxes and Rabbits & Hares! I fell in love with this property Oliopa as soon as I saw it and we have a main house on the other side of the hill which was originally built in 1890. We have regular bonfires and cards nights that you are most welcome to join in with us.
What makes this cottage unique
The views from the patio or porch are lovely, there is always a nice breeze, the sounds of all the birds is lovely. Sunrises and sunsets can be quite spectacular. I love hiking and there is always interesting things to find hiking aorund the farm, lots of old farm antiques some still sitting on the ground up in the back high tree area.
