Overview

About the property

Cabin, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6-7)

Welcome to our Amish log cabin in Wisconsin's Black River Falls area. Guests have said our cabin is cozy, comfortable and offers a sense of peaceful relaxation. We are located on one and a half acres of towering pines, with no neighbors right next door! Yet we are only minutes from Hatfield, hundreds of miles of the best ATV trails in the midwest, fishing, thousands of acres of prime county forest hunting land and all the area has to offer.

This past summer some of the highlights our guests have mentioned is an annual area bike race, climbing the Levis-Trow Mound, bare foot water ski adventures at the Blue Moo and hours of fun at the local lakes!

The area is a little bit of heaven for all you fishermen out there. Rivers, streams, lakes and flowages cover the area, so you'll have plenty of choices to catch the 'big one.' Many craft fairs and flea markets are held just miles from the cabin, or set aside the third weekend in September for Warrens annual Cranberry Fest! Maybe you'll want to try your luck at the Majestic Pines Casino? Some guests just want to to relax on the porch swing and watch the wildlife, read a book and get a nice fire going in the outside fire pit area.

Ladies, are have you been looking for a great place for a 'Womens Only Vacation.'? We've had a wonderful response from the ladies who have gone and said it was relaxing, enjoyable and just what they needed!

Whatever your reasons are for coming, you'll be able to find something to fit your needs. We hope you take this opportunity with family or friends to get away, relax, and treat yourselves!

About Jennifer Pulley

This is the 3rd log cabin Jeff and I built and we have plans to keep on going. They are beautiful, fun , relaxing and they give pleasure to everyone who comes. It does not get better than that!

Jennifer Pulley purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Jennifer Pulley chose Southwest

My husband and I built this log cabin with tree's we logged from the site and had milled with the local Amish. We have enjoyed learning log cabin building techniques from the Amish and buying great home-made candies from them too! The decorating inside is a fun mix of things we've picked up on our travels out west, from Alaka, from old barns, flea-markets and wonderful friends.

What makes this cabin unique

My perfect stay at the cabin is,'turning off my phone, bringing a great book and reading it while I'm sitting on the porch swing, having a cup of coffee. Then dinner a local supper-club and a great night's sleep with the sounds of wind in the tree's.'

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wow! We are so glad your stay was excellent and that you had a chance to explore the area and enjoy the cabin.

Thank you!

Perfect weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our Amish Log Cabin Getaway was the ideal Northwoods getaway we were seeking! Not too far of a drive, but far enough to leave day-to-day pressures and stressors behind us. The cabin had many amenities and was the perfect, cozy home away from home - for adults, kids and pets! The location is private, quiet and secluded, yet close enough to towns to easily run out for necessary supplies if needed. Plenty of nature activities to do in the surrounding areas - hiking, cycling, kayaking, canoeing, etc., with outfitters and equipment rental easily accessible - and absolutely the most comfortable beds to sleep in after long days in the fresh air! It was so hard to leave - we can't wait to return - miss it already!

Perfect for 2 or a whole family!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful and cozy, this little cabin feels like home. The comfy living room has 2 couches (one a hide away bed) and a good sized TV with DVD. The floors are heated. The little kitchen has all the utensils, cookware and dishes you might need, and dish towels and clothes are provided. Upstairs, the loft is roomy, and the beds are comfortable. Although the ceilings are slanted - watch your head! We roasted marshmallows in the fire pit, and explored the surrounding area. Nice park just outside of Black River Falls that has a great trail up to a peak where you can see out over the whole area. Lots of shopping opportunities in the surrounding communities as well. Would definitely like to go back!

Cozy, warm, stocked with all the essentials.

  • 4 of 5

We truly enjoyed our very simple stay at the cabin. It was clean, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen had all the basics. The patio and firepit are nice amenities. A minor drawback is that it's kind of close to the road. You can hear the traffic, so it doesn't always feel super quiet and woodsy. However, while we were there we saw a cool blue and black salamander!! Overall, it's a very nice place to stay, and very affordable.

The cabin was really nice...perfect size for our family and included nearly everything we needed.

Very nice place. Had everything we needed for the weekend. My oldest was bummed with no wifi, (he is supposed to watch game film on the weekend for football) but overall a great place for our family to relax and unwind.

Owner's Response: Thanks for coming! Someday we may get WiFi at the cabins. In the past, lack of service coverage was a big issue in the woods and we also really enjoyed taking a break from our electronics! I usually suggest to guest they go into Black River or Hatfield, there are several restaurants and coffee shops to enjoy and use the WiFi. Glad to hear that aside from that, your family found everything they needed to relax and unwind! Thanks again! Jennifer & Jeff
