When planning a family ski vacation, the term 'convenience' often comes to mind when thinking about how to keep everyone happy during your trip. Can someone come back to the condo if they get tired? Can we save some money by eating our lunch in the condo? We have 2 beginner skiers and 2 experts, how are we going to meet back up during the day? We are going to have to take turns watching a little one while the rest of the family skis, what can I do? If these are the questions you are asking yourself when planning your ski trip to Steamboat Springs, then staying at Storm Meadows will be the most 'convenient' answer to all your questions! Having a slope side condo that is ski in ski out makes it easy for your entire family to enjoy their day on the mountain! There is also a Free private shuttle that can take you from the condo down to the base area to start ski school on 'firm ground' or make a trip to downtown Steamboat for a day of shopping, ice skating or a trip to the water slides at the Old Town Hot Springs!
This specific unit at Storm Meadows C419 might just be the nicest Storm Meadows unit I have been in. It has been totally remodeled from the studs out, and feels brand new. Not only does it look and feel brand new, but there are million $ views out each window. You can see the entire front side of the Steamboat Ski Resort as well as south valley toward the Flattops Wilderness area (which is a great Summer time hiking destination) The kitchen area has stainless steel appliances, slab granite counters and everything you need to create a great meal for your family. The living room has plenty of seating on couches, a gas fireplace and flat-screen tv with surround sound speakers. The master bathroom even has a steam shower to help relax those tired muscles after a day on the slopes. This unit is very tastefully decorated as well, has comfortable beds and plenty of cabinets and closet space too! This unit is on the top floor, so you have vaulted ceilings, and don't have to worry about noise coming from neighbors above you.
The Storm Meadows Club condominiums are located a little higher on the ski mountain from the base of the resort, along Storm Meadows Drive. This complex is Ski-in / Ski-out via a green run called 'right of way' that leads down from the base of the Thunderhead lift to the base of the ski mountain and the gondola.
These units share a clubhouse facility that includes an outdoor heated pool, shared hot tubs, work out facility, exercise machines and sauna. During the winter months, these units are considered a little too far to walk back down to the base area, mainly due to the icy road with traffic being dangerous.
This complex does have a private shuttle that will bring you from the base of the condos, to the base of the ski resort and also to the grocery and/or downtown Steamboat Springs for shopping and dining.
There are many different buildings associated with Storm Meadows, and each one might have some pro's and con's compared to another building at Storm Meadows depending on what is most important to you and your family. This can impact the view you might have, access to a pool, whether the condo is Ski in/walk out or Ski In/Ski Out, access to private shuttle service or whether you can walk to Ski Time Square.

I loved visiting Steamboat Springs so much after purchasing a condo in town, that I decided to become a year round resident! So I can not only provide input towards the little things you wonder about . . . such as the best restaurants in town, but I can also give you a locals perspective on all the best places to fish, mountain bike, snowshoe, find the leftover powder stashes and all the other activities that keep people coming back to our Mountain town. Most importantly, you will also have someone locally to count on (via phone or at your doorstep) to ensure your vacation runs smoothly for you and your family!
Brad Luth purchased this condo in 2005
There are many lodging options to choose from in Steamboat, but few locations provide the convenience to the slopes at such a great value as the units at Storm Meadows Club Condos. Steamboat Springs is a great little mountain town with friendly locals and plenty of small town charm that keeps people coming back year after year!
You have direct access to the Ski Slopes of Steamboat, an outdoor heated pool and hot tubs, exercise room, private shuttle during the Winter - everything you need for a wonderful vacation in Steamboat!
This unit has the most beautiful panoramic views. It is a top floor end unit and is very quiet. We enjoyed the spacious well appointed rooms, the fireplace and feeding the magpies after breakfast. All of this and it is ski in and ski out too!
The ski in/ski out feature was awesome! The on call shuttle service was on time and extremely convenient. Would stay here next time my group comes to Steamboat.
This condo was our home base for a fantastic 5-day ski vacation with our family of 5 (kids ages 10-14). PROS: Awesome location with beautiful corner views. Legit, easy ski-in and ski-out access. Very clean condo. We also enjoyed the complex amenities (pool and hot tub and shuttle service around town). CONS: This condo lacked the mountain charm that we're used to in a ski town rental. It was very functional, but not particularly stylish. In addition, it could use some minor handiwork and furnishing updates (pull-out couch was torn and not very comfortable for sleeping, dishwasher wheels were missing and rack was falling out, outlets missing switchplates). The owner was very responsive when we contacted him about the dishwasher.
Great location. Truly ski in, ski out. Well-stocked condo. Both the condo and Storm Meadows thought of everything.
The condo was very neat and clean. Enjoyed ourselves very much. The deck view was gorgeous and so enjoyable in the morning with a hot cup of coffee. We enjoyed the stay.
Overall wonderful experience. Steamboat Springs is beautiful with lots to do. Hope to return and would definitely stay at Storm Meadows again!
The instructions and directions provided by owner were spot on. The unit was clean and everything was in order when we arrived. The property is well maintained and the pool was lovely. Great central location. Easy walk to the Gondola and very short drive to the supermarket, downtown, hot springs, tubing and Fish Creek Falls. I plan to re-book this unit for a another vacation.
