Very clean, well-kept cottage. Convenient parking in driveway and great communication with the owner. Limited options in restaurants within walking distance as the pub across the street is only open on select days of the week. Otherwise, had a great stay!

Cosy barn conversion set in lovely village

The property is attached to the owners place Pete and Rachel, with plenty of room for parking. We met Pete on arrival and he gave us a useful low down on the facilities and places to visit whilst on our stay. The property is well equipped and tastefully furnished. All in all we would highly recommend.

Interesting, quirky but very good

Lovely little property, well furnished and equipped and very comfortable, just right for 2 people. Owner friendly and informative about the area. There is a lovely local pub across the road, wood burning stove giving a cozy atmosphere. The staff are very friendly. The menu is unusual but having eaten there twice can thoroughly recommend it.

Would come back in a heartbeat

We had a wonderful time staying here. The town is in a great location to explore surrounding areas including the Warner Bros. Studios Harry Potter experience and Bletchley Park just to name two - there are many more. We had the good fortune to be there when the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales came into Portsmouth which is a great town to visit. There are many small towns just a few miles away to explore. The cottage was perfect for us. It sits back off the road so it is quiet and it had everything we needed. Rachel and Pete couldn't have been more gracious and helpful. The people in town are lovely. We met many of them at the village shop and while attending the play "Downtrodden Abbey" performed by the local drama group, MADS. Seeing both the aircraft carrier and the play were unexpected treats but, even without them, we would highly recommend staying here.

We would definitely do third again.

Our stay in the Stable was short, but we would definitely stay longer. North Marston is a lovely little village with pleasant walks and lovely people. Even the rabbits in the cottage back garden were content. The cottage, hidden in a little cul-de-sac, is directly across the street from the Pilgrim serving good food and providing a welcoming atmosphere. The cottage, while small, provided every amenity we needed and then some. The back garden is quiet and very nicely tended. We didn't get to meet Rachel or Pete on this trip (they were away with family) but our texts were always responded to quickly and most helpfully. We look forward to meeting them on our next visit to the village. Oh, yes, we did meet the cat....a very friendly and pettable creature! We think anyone would be pleased to stay here. Ideally located in the village with local community shop and pub (make sure you book well in advance if you want to eat in the pub). The cottage is beautiful with exposed beams and comfy sofa’s. There is so much to do nearby, Claydon House, Bletchley Park, Stowe, Waddesdon. The small town of Buckingham nearby has a great butchers/deli Smith & Clay who also do hot breakfast to takeaway or eat in the Courtyard. Follow Mathew’s Way walk from the village to see some stunning countryside and if you like horses check our what’s going on at Addington equine centre 10 minutes up the road.
Claydon House, see Florence Nightingales rooms when she visited her sister
The local shop has a good range of products And lovely friendly staff
Stowe, great for a walk. Best to book a house tour as it is a working school
Waddesdon, allow the whole day!

A rest

Well it was a change, visits to Bletchley, London and various walks. Great area for walking, easy to stay off the roads. Also meant we felt we earned our meal at The Pilgrim, which was fabulous. Night times were very quiet so good nights sleep

Perfect!

Only stayed two nights as in the area for an event but the property and village were lovely. Didn’t expect to need to use the log burner in July but that’s the British summer for you and it was such a fab addition!

The hosts were delightful and shared a wealth of information regarding the history of the cottage and area. The cottage was perfect for our stay and the town was adorable. Our only complaint was that we did not get to stay longer. I would absolutely stay there again.
