About Laura Euler

I'm a writer who specializes in the Hamptons.

Laura Euler purchased this house in 1999

Why Laura Euler chose Montauk

My great-grandmother lived in Montauk for fifty years, and both my mother and I grew up spending a lot of time out here and we love it. My grandmother's house had to be sold after her death, but I was lucky enough to be able to buy this house back in 1999, which is only a few doors down from Nana's house (the cute gray house on Old Montauk Highway by School Lane).

What makes this house unique

You can watch the waves roll in on the beach from the deck up top, and stare at the sea from the sunroom. It's so relaxing! The beach is directly across the street, so it's easy to have a lovely beach walk in the morning or evening, and there's nothing to block the view. The house is older and decorated in a vintage style, with a lot of charm.

Beautiful old home with awesome water views!

This home has an antique vibe and is in a beautiful location. Lots of games, firewood for the fireplace, super comfy beds and a fully stocked kitchen make this a home away from home. We had a wonderful time in the cozy cottage. Owner was very easy to contact.

Wonderfully charming beach house

  • 4 of 5

Everyone's fantasy (or perhaps just mine) of the bohemian beach cottage life they wish they'd had. I love the wildness of the winter beach (and it was wild and windy!), and the easy access was exhilarating.

The absent 5th star is simply because there are a number things that would have been helpful to know in advance - particularly for those of you staying more than a few days. So, this is for you. Bring toilet paper, paper towels, a sponge, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher detergent, and light bulbs. The latter may be less essential in the summer, but when it gets dark at 4:30, it is helpful to have a working overhead light in the downstairs bathroom, the upstairs hall, and a lamp to read in bed by. But these were minor annoyances, given the delightful setting, and we managed just fine by switching around bulbs, and moving a lamp from downstairs. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Cozy and rustic charmer!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. For the price, this house (and location!!!!) is a steal. While the inside could use just a bit of TLC (leaky faucets, broken window screens, no TP!) the space is so cozy and comfortable you kind of accept it when you get a view of the ocean across the street and hear the waves crashing. Certainly roomy enough for the 8 of us. We had a great time and everyone agreed that we would love to stay again!

The epitome of a relaxing beach house - does not get any better!!

  • 5 of 5

What a cool place! I brought my young sons (10 and 13) to Montuak for the first time for a boys getaway to give my wife some down time. I have to say, this house took me back to a more simple time when I could just sit, relax and enjoy the views. We came to Montauk during a beautiful November week and the town itself was empty, which was perfect. The location of the house could not be better. Walking distance to town for breakfast and dinner. Directly across the street from the beach. There's a great balcony to sit on at night and watch the stars. I slept with the sliding door to the balcony open to listen to the waves hit the beach all night long. If you're looking for a fancy place with room service and maids cleaning your room on a daily basis, this isn't the place for you. If you want a place to relax, that's comfortable, homey, warm and welcoming, then this is the place. We had a lot of fun here and had a very memorable time. We'd love to come again next October or November. Thank you Laura for providing such a cool house that makes you feel at home.

Amazing, magical home. Can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was and how helpful Laura was.

The house is a nostalgia museum that takes you back to a simpler time and puts you at ease the second you walk in the door. With the beach directly across the street, you won't find a better spot in Montauk to share with your friends and family. Completely amazing.
