It was ok. Could have been better.
Had to walk across the front of the house of a steep hill. (even more steep driveway). It had snowed about 4 inches, so we walk through a snowy yard that had tall crunchy plant stalks, to get to the side of the house. No side walk. No wash cloths. No hair dryer. There was a small frig/freezer. In the freezer was pre-packaged pancakes, waffles, and a breakfast burrito, and 2 slices of white bread in a baggie. They all had freezer burn frost on them. There was a nice fresh bag of bagels. No cream cheese. It was cool so we had the space heater on the whole time. One of the blankets had dryer fuzz and hair on it. Another blanket had a burn/melted area on it. The lady there was very nice! The place was clean. Loved the fruit and snacks in the bowl. Also the keurig was nice. We microwaved popcorn for a movie on netflix. It was ok, just didnt seem prepared for our stay.
This was the first time the person had used a rental and must have been expecting a hotel. I called and messaged her in advance about slick streets and our steep driveway - standard in our town. I suggested she check to see if their event was cancelled since the weather was so bad. There was a place to walk across the yard, and even an arrow pointing the direction, but she seemed oblivious. They couldn’t figure out how to use the tv with Netflix even though instructions were written and left on the table by the remote so I assisted them.
There were face towelettes provided and a hair dryer. We don’t generally supply washclothes as they either get stolen or ruined from makeup stains.
I was very surprised the guests took all the fruit, oatmeal cookies, and even the milk! She states items in the freezer has freezer burn - they were purchased fresh for their use and unopened so I’m not sure why she would think that. And they did take a bottle of syrup so it must have been used on something. I’ve never had anyone take so many items previously.
The temperature was set at 72. We keep it at that temperature year round. Some clients complain of the area being too warm so we have both fans and heaters on site. It was the coldest day of the year, which client was also aware of.
