Sedona AZ: Nestled amongst dramatic crimson towers of sandstone, Sedona, Arizona provides a stunning sanctuary for outdoor adventures and secluded retreats. Sedona's natural beauty is evident in its compelling surroundings, but Sedona's beauty is more than skin deep. Rich with diverse cultural events, spiritual energy, cozy bed and breakfasts, world-class resorts and spas, golf with unparalleled views, eclectic art galleries and exquisite cuisine, it is no wonder that Sedona, Arizona draws nearly 4 millions tourists each year. We are near Sedona but out side the city limits.

Sedona Geography: Situated at the base of Mogollon Rim, a geologically dominating structure of limestone, mudstone and sandstone, Sedona is engulfed by extraordinary monoliths resembling distinctive objects that bear their name. There's Cathedral Rock, Coffee Pot, Bell and Snoopy to name a few. Coffee Pot Rock marks the tallest point in Sedona at 5600 feet, although the town itself is elevated at 4500 feet. Sedona's high desert climate is generally mild year round. The average high is just under 75 degrees Fahrenheit, and the average low is 45. It is this mild four-season environment that draws visitors year-round to Sedona.

Getting to Sedona from Phoenix: Travel to Sedona is easy via a scenic 90 minute drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport that serves all major airlines. Or visitors can hop a small plane into Flagstaff's Pulliam Airport which accepts private commuter planes and is situated about 30 minutes away. Sedona also has an airport perched atop a scenic mesa with incomparable views open to smaller private planes. However, getting to Sedona is half the fun and the short drive from Phoenix is well worth the trip. As you come around the bend in the road and spot your first glimpse of the extraordinary Red Rocks your jaw will drop and you'll know why such a small town can make such a big impression.

My wife and I grew up in Michigan and graduated from MSU. I also graduated from University of Southern California. I taught high school science for the USA DoD in Germany. I taught engineering at MSU.
During my army career and my executive engineering position at Motorola my wife and I were able to travel the world and experience many cultures and environments. Thee experiences give us a clear insight into what should be provided to guests at our establishment.

Why they chose this property

We wanted a vacation home in a world class area that was within driving distance from Phoenix. Sedona AZ was our choice. We purchased The Red Rock Escape because it is with-in walking distance to uptown where we can shop, people watch, go to restaurants, and have as many drinks as we want and not have to worry about driving home!
We also wanted a guest house so we could have the versatility of me and my wife staying in it while my relatives stayed on the big house or if a single relative or a couple want to visit we would have a place for them to stay.

We also wanted a place big enough to spread out and have some privacy and have some views. We do not realize how good the views are until we visit other homes that claim they have awesome views if you stand on the corner of their property.

What makes this property unique

Do you think staying within walking distance to entertainment, shopping, and restaurants is a good way to spend your vacation, car free?
Do you like short walks? Uptown and the Sedona Heritage Museum (735 Jordan Rd  Sedona, AZ 86336) and Hiking Trails are nearby( 1.25 miles)!
If someone wants to take the car and others want to stay behind they will find plenty to do in Uptown Sedona. More flexibility for everyone!
Walking to and from breakfast, lunch or dinner is a great way to view Sedona's Red Rocks and to feel the energy Sedona's special atmosphere.
A hot tub is available for relaxing after the outdoor activities or during the star lite nights!
