We met our four Danish friends for a weekend at Annie’s. Karin was friendly, funny, and efficient with checking us in. The weather was great so we took advantage of the lovely back yard court spaces, spent most of our time there. House setup was fabulous, we were not in want of anything. Street in front of house was idyllic, Walt Disney could not have done better. Marstal is a little dead, we were really hoping to stay in Ærøskobing but with six people we felt Annie’s would be a better fit. And, I guess with a quiet Marstal, our sleeping was that much better. Jesper was super fast in responding to emails, too!
Hope to return
The property was a great location. Parking not bad for this kind of stay.
We wished to have had more time.
Karen was delightful and very helpful.
Marstal is a treasure.
Hi hi Molly
Thank you very much for your fine review of our house .Happy to hear that your stay was a nice experience. You are always velkomne back for another stay.
Quaint, quirky, clean, tidy, quiet, well appointed
We were met at the property, everything we needed to know was explained and the offer for more information on request was given. We were given a very professional brochure setting out the house, what is on offer, how to find it, where is available to park, things to do and contact numbers for any necessary issues. We rented the beach hut also - highly recommended, very exclusive, very pretty, cooking facilities in hut. I cannot praise Annie's Hus enough, we had a lovely time in and around the house, on the bikes, on the beach, around the island. Everyone was very very helpful and friendly. I would easily recommend this to anyone, for a relaxing time, for outdoor time, for lounging about, or just soaking up the local culture, brilliant.
Dejligt hus og have
Der var rent og pænt.
Friske blomster i vaser.
Plus med 2 badeværelser.
Vi kommer gerne igen.
Atmosfære og alt perfekt
Ganske enkelt vidunderlig
Charming and modernized sailorshouse with its own lush and idyllic courtyard, located in the quaint old town of Marstal Aero, for rent at very reasonable price. In addition to the house in Soendergade you're able to rent one of the exclusive, small and idyllic beach houses of Erik's Hale, that we are so lucky to own.
If you like beautiful and quiet scenery, nice beaches, lively harbor, sailboats and exciting history, Marstal is the place for you - a paradise in the Southern Archipelago of Funen. The island is also one of the places in Denmark, which is favored by most hours of sunshine a year and you will find exotic plants in the gardens, which usually should not be able to survive in Denmark.
Springtime in Aero is often quite sudden, and almost like an explosion jumps out the flowers, and the island turns into a symphony of colors of flowering shrubs and fruit trees interspersed with lush green fields and the blue sea. It's like the island wakes up from hibernation. Shops, cafes and quaint restaurants open for the season, and the first yachts and large traditional wooden boats from around the world visit the ports.
During the summertime, hollyhocks decorate the old houses in Marstal. 'Annie's house' belongs to the traditional style of yacht captain's houses with an almost Mediterranean courtyard where a large beautiful fig tree adorn the garden with its distinctive leaves. Between the neighboring houses runs 'snorene', the picturesque narrow paths between the gardens at the rear of the old houses.
Marstal is Ærø's largest city, and its long maritime history can be seen everywhere. Shipping is still the heart of Marstal combined with shipyards and shipping companies and the Navigation School, which for more than a 100 years, trained navigators for the Danish merchant navy.
The harbor is full of charming fishing nets, boats and coasters. The harbors have up to 1500 vacant berths and a wonderful playground for kids to play. The long pier with its beautiful old limestone kiln was built with the purpose of providing the necessary shelter from the eastern wind. The pier was built by sailors from Marstal in the period of 1825 to 1841 and expanded a few times later. Marstal's famous Maritime Museum gives a vivid impression of the city and sea through the ages.
A stroll around through the narrow Soendergade brings you from Annie's house down to harbor with the limestone kiln. 600 m further along the harbor leads out to Eric's tail, a narrow sand spit with small dunes and colorful beach houses. Eric's tail divides the harbor from the Baltic Sea, so on one side you have a beach with fresh water from the Baltic Sea, and on the other you have a more calm and shallow watered beach pointing towards the harbor - Ideal for kids to play. The blue beach house, that can be rented along with Annie's House, is located here among the other picturesque and attractive beach houses.
