About this property

In southern Tuscany, not far from Montepulciano, this paradise is 7 km from Cetona, beautiful medieval village of Etruscan origin.
The house is surrounded by 3 hectares of olive groves and a large garden associating cypresses, pines and lawn green e. The villa enjoys panoramic view of 360 °, very exceptional in the Val di Chiana and Mount Cetona.
The highlight allows to embrace the entire landscape is the plateau of the infinity pool with bar, terraces with loungers and an adjoining bowling alley. The villa has several terraces on different levels where you can enjoy meals with different views of the surrounding countryside.
The house consists of
5 double rooms that can be arranged either as double bed in twin beds, 4 bathrooms. 2 kitchens, a large fully equipped with professional equipment on the ground floor with the possibility of taking his meals either inside or on the adjoining terrace. A second extra kitchen, stocked with all the equipment on the first floor overlooking another dining room itself open to a terrace with views that can also serve for breakfast.
With 2 floors you'll find complete dinnerware. A third terrace adjoining the master bedroom and indirect access to the kitchen from the top can be used for dinners overlooking the lighted garden. on this same terrace there is a small garden furniture that can quietly enjoy an aperitif before dinner.
A TV lounge. The house is fully equipped (wi-fi, washing machine, clothes dryer dishwasher, etc ...)

Buyer Beware

This property is secluded and the grounds/pool are beautiful. The house is fairly well maintained and the housekeeper is very friendly. Here is where things go wrong. When you book this home, the property lists a number of items that are in the home...air conditioning, coffee pot, washer/dryer, heated pool etc. Initially you believe the pool, air conditioning, pizza oven, washer/dryer etc...is part of the overall weekly price. This is not the case. Only when the time has lapsed for you to cancel your reservation without a fee, the owner then sends you the contract and a long list of house rules. The pool costs extra if you want it heated or serviced in any way. The air conditioning costs extra upon consumption. You are not allowed to use the washer and dryer but have to pay the housekeeper 15 euro an hour to do laundry. There are no directions to even use the outdoor pizza oven or grill. Matter of fact, the owner said it would take 3 additional people to light and oversee using the pizza oven all at additional costs. You want an extra towel? ..it costs you. You get 4 coffee pods (even though the house sleeps 10). Each additional pod costs you .40/pod in the contract. When you get to the house, there is a new set of "house rules" and each additional pod is .70/pod. This house goes for over 10K US dollars a week and you feel nickeled and dimed with every move. Even the wifi costs an additional 30 euros/week. None of these additional costs were transparent prior to our ability to cancel without a fee. Every owner has the right to charge what they want for their home but not being transparent about all the additional costs is not the right thing to do. We would strongly encourage you to get everything in writing prior to booking or choose another home with VRBO.

EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS

We went as two families to Italy for two weeks, renting the Cetona house for the second week with 4 children, or 7 in total with the adults and kids combined. What a beautiful home and estate! The footprint of the house is charming and well decorated, with stone and beams, multiple levels and rooms that are integrated yet also offer privacy. The bathrooms are spacious and exquisitely designed, with clean lines, beautiful fixtures, and luxurious linens. The fully renovated kitchen was perfect for us, with plenty of refrigerator storage, sleek stove and sink - and fully equipped to satisfy the professional chef we hired. Multiple large dining areas indoors and out gave us plenty of options for at-home meals. The outdoor grounds were truly stunning - views across the valley in all directions, with amazing sunrises and sunsets. The landscaping is generous, with orchards, lavender hedges, and the pool was just oh-so-perfect for the kids, with comfy poolside furniture and a bar area with refrigeration for cold drinks. We loved the bocce court as well. Also the location couldn't have been more convenient - we did day trips to Assisi, Florence, San Gimignano, and Montepulciano, and enjoyed the charms and dining options of the nearby, less touristy Cetona. The property is also less than 1.5 hours from the Rome airport, making our trek out easier to plan and undertake. Finally, the host Catherine was SUPER responsive and helpful, offering recommendations for activities, the chef, and sightseeing. Even more impactful was the exceptionally warm reception and assistance of Catia, the person responsible for keeping the house clean in spite of the four young ruffians we had in tow, and who prepared the most AMAZING meal, bringing her lovely mother to assist. Our families liked Catia's cooking even better than the excellent chef we had hired for several of our nights in the house! All in all, I couldn't recommend the Cetona house more highly. It truly exceeded our expectations. We dream of returning in the years to come.

Es geht kaum besser !!! Wir haben es geliebt !!!

Das Haus von Catherine liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Umgebung , erhöht zwischen den beiden kleinen Orten Cetona und Piazze . Wir hatten eine traumhafte Sicht auf die umliegenden Hügel ! Wir empfehlen dieses Haus unbedingt weiter . Das wichtige ist , dass alles sauber war und jeden Tag jemand da war , der Betten gemacht hat und die Bäder bearbeitet hat ! Danke Catia und alle Helfer . Das Haus zwei Küchen ! Eine kleine oben und eine große Küche unten . Wir haben es genossen jede von den vier Terrasse und beide Küchen zu nutzen ! Das Frühstück im Garten war traumhaft ! Wir haben in all den vergangenen Jahren noch nie so einen großen und bestens gepflegten Garten gesehen ! Auch war für uns neu , die Toskana im Frühling zu erleben und nicht im Sommer , auf jeden Fall auch eine Reise wert weil alles blüht und es nicht zu heiß ist :) Der Kontakt zur Eigentümerin Catherine war schhon Wochen vor der Anreise perfekt und während des Aufenthalts war sie immer für Fragen verfügbar ! Vielen Dank dass du dein Haus für Urlauber teilst … wir kommen gerne wieder :)

Beautiful well kept villa with incredible views.

My family and I had a fantastic time during our stay. We were a party of 6 adults and 4 children. The children had a wonderful time at the pool, exploring the area and reconnecting with nature. They were thrilled to see fireflies, a doe and a hedgehog for the first time! Everyone enjoyed the villa immensely. It was big enough for everyone to have their own space and privacy when needed. It is also very well located. Surrounded by nature you feel like you are in your own world, but also very close to nearby towns that are worth visiting. On our stay the furthest we went was Rome, Pisa and Florence which are 2 hours away approximately, but there are also smaller towns like Siena, Montepulciano, San Gimignano that are closer and gorgeous. The villa is very well managed. From Catherine, the owner, who was always reachable and helpful, to sweet Catia, the fantastic italian cook and housekeeper. Always willing to help with anything we needed, she made our italian experience complete.
