About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

A great lake escape, is just what it says. Escape from your frantic, fast paced, stressed out life. Come up to the lake and relax on any of the three decks or outside in the hot tub overlooking the lake on a quiet cove; two minutes from the main lake by boat. Paddle around the lake on the three available kayaks or the canoe!! If the evenings are a little chilly turn on one of the two gas fireplaces,(one in the loft, one on the main floor).

We are close to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Nantahala National Park for Hiking the Appalachian and Bartram Trails. The Nantahala Outdoor Center for rafting, kayaking and biking is just a 45 minute beautiful ride away.

This a a wonderful ROMANTIC getaway for couples or FUN for small families. What an opportunity to be able to spend quality time together and reconnect while being in the great outdoors.

Please remember you are in a remote area so if you have health issues and need to be by a medical facility or have a disability and bad knees this may not be an ideal place for you.

**Keep in mind that this is a TVA Lake and after Labor Day until March lake levels are extremely low and docks are on dry land

Beautiful cabin and view

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I came to stay for two nights in mid-March for Spring Break. We loved the seclusion and privacy that this cabin provided, as well as being able to "disconnect" from our phones with no cell service or wifi. There were plenty of other things for us to do - we really enjoyed using the canoe and kayaks, fishing off the dock (the water level was high enough for the dock to float when we went), warming up by the fireplace or the hot tub, as well as watching DVDs and playing board games which were both provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Cherisse was great to work with and very welcoming, calling us the first night to make sure we made it okay (the path is very windy and gravel, 30 minutes from closest grocery store and cell service). This area would definitely be amazing in the summer and we plan to come back to the area, hopefully this same cabin!! I would highly recommend to everyone!

Great get away

  • 4 of 5

Very well maintained cabin. Everything you could want or need. Hot tub was a big plus with the cold weather. Gas Fireplace very nice. Kitchen well stocked. Beds were comfy, shower was amazing. The only reason for a 4 star was the proximity of other cabins and the long steep stairs down to the cabin.

Suspect if you are a kayaker/canoer this place this could be a lot of fun when the water is up. The low level of the lake did not bother us as the weather was not conducive to kayaking/canoeing.

We would recommend this place.

Beautiful cabin, beautiful area, perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is perfect. It is remote, peaceful, and a well kept home. Will plan to return in the future. No cell signal allowed it to be a time to get disconnected with the things that don’t really matter and connect with those things and people that do matter in life.

Pictures didn't do it justice

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is great for the adventurous spirit who wants to disconnect. We second all the recommendations to arrive in the daylight with groceries already in hand, as the roads are one lane gravel and quite curvy and steep. We were pleasantly surprised walking into the cabin; the pictures didn't do it justice! We enjoyed the fireplaces and hot tub in the chilly late November weather, but the dock was dry at that time, which Cherisse was upfront about. She was very kind and easy to communicate with. We enjoyed our time away from cell phones and internet in her cozy, clean cabin.

This cabin is a better fit for someone who can easily navigate the steep stairs. When we stayed, the front steps had a handrail, though it is not shown in the pictures. We were able to navigate them fine, but they did get a bit slippery with the morning frost.

We picked Nantahala Lake for the relatively dark sky, and it was beautiful, but please be aware that many of the neighbors leave their flood lights on, so there is still a bit of light pollution. Nonetheless, we were able to easily see a meteor shower from the dock. The property and the drive up were lovely, scenic NC countryside . We recommend it and look forward to a return trip in the summertime.
