Estes Park House Rental Photos and Description

Vacation home, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps up to 6)

NOTE: You are welcome to call or email us at any time. If less than the minimum nights (3 in peak season) are available between other bookings I can usually reserve two nights for you . The system will not allow online booking for less than the minimum.

Step back in time to a bygone era when vacations were actually relaxing. Whispering Pines vacation home, a charming rental retreat only 2 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park (and right across the road from the Big Thompson river), was built with integrity and beautiful craftsmanship which has been maintained throughout the years. There aren't many of these left.

Here you will find Old Estes charm, updated with today's amenities in one of the nicest lodging rentals in the quaint mountain town of Estes Park. While the cabin offers all the amenities of a modern comfortable home (including free wifi), there has been a concerted effort in its restoration to retain the look and feel of this wonderful old property.

Nestled among aspen and ponderosa pine trees, some of which are hundreds of years old, this is an heirloom historic 1928 property.

The 1 1/2 acres with mountain views and rock outcroppings contribute to the sense of solitude. This home is filled with tasteful and comfortable furnishings, and the town of Estes Park is only a 1/2 mile walk away. ( There are no sidewalks but we walk along the grassy shoulder ; it's a 30 mph road.)

Here is the perfect place to come and escape the summer heat (daytime temperatures are generally in the 70's to mid 80's and evenings get into the 40's and 50's) as well as enjoy the serenity of the mountains year round, and a wonderful place for people who appreciate vintage flair and the grace of years past.

You'll love, as we do, to enjoy the all season sunroom-- the perfect place to play cards, read, sip a cup of your favorite beverage, visit with friends or family, or just relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Big Thompson River. There are plenty of windows to take in the beauty and tranquility of the mountains, including the deer and elk that often wander through (and even the occasional bear).

The entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is just 5 minutes away, with many, many trails to hike, snowshoe or even for backcountry skiing. The Eldora downhill ski area is an hour drive away.

We provide a collection of DVD's, games, and books, including mountain interest and local information. We also have extras to make your vacation comfortable and safe-- first aid kit, flash light, fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detector, cooler, snowshoes upon request, etc.

Much effort has been taken to care for and furnish our mountain cabin and we want our guests to feel welcome and comfortable, and to enjoy it as much as we do. We are proud to provide a clean and smoke-free environment (smoking is allowed outside). This had been a family home for 80 years and has only been made available for rentals in the past 9 years.

This Estes Park cabin has it all--lots of character, a large wooded lot providing privacy without isolation, across the road from the river with no buildings in-between to spoil the view or muffle the sound, walking distance to downtown, a huge stone wood-burning fireplace, mountain views, high-speed wireless internet and plenty of room inside and out to spread out and relax.

You couldn't ask for more in Estes Park lodging--a perfect vacation or holiday getaway. Truly stunning, this place has a sense of history and stands out from the crowd; a place you won't forget.

Why The Owner chose Front Range

We love Estes Park and have been coming here for decades to relax, hike, snowshoe, shop and take in the mountain air. This cabin fit our ideal perfectly, and we feel so fortunate to have found it. It's great not only for a quiet , peaceful retreat and family gatherings.

. We have kept the character and charm of the home, while updating to make for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Wonderful cabin close to Rocky Mountain National Park!

  • 5 of 5

This comfy cabin is in a perfect location, close to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. The owner was quick to respond with questions. There was plenty of room for our family and everything we needed was provided-even a booster seat for our grandson, who really enjoyed sitting at the dining room table with the adults.

And the herd of elk in the front yard on our last day was the icing on the cake. We will definitely visit this cabin again!

Extremely Pleased!!

  • 5 of 5

Whispering Pines was more than we could have asked for. Located just outside of the hustle & bustle of town it is perfectly located to wherever you want to go. The cabin itself is just adorable and extremely well maintained. The rooms were clean and spacious. It has everything you could possibly need for your stay. My husband does not usually like to return to a place he has already visited but has already said "We will definitely be returning to Estes Park and staying at Whispering Pines"! Thank you so much to Sue for making our vacation such an amazing one!!!

The 3 Sisters return

  • 5 of 5

We first visited Whispering Pines 2 years ago and found this place so charming we just had to come back! This beautiful place feels like you opened the door to your own home. It is welcoming and cozy and abundantly furnished with everything one could possibly need. We make most of our meals and always find what we need, including a cheese slicer.

This year my sisters and I were joined by a cousin whose face lit up when she discovered the green bedroom would be hers. We always enjoy the front windowed sitting room. We went back to the RMNP and shopped downtown again, but added horseback riding and a tour of the Stanley. We stayed and extra day, but still feel it wasn't long enough.

As always Sue was a pleasure to work with. She seems to have this down to a science. Every need is anticipated and provided ahead of time.

Adorable cabin in picturesque location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this charming cabin. It was many of our first visits to Estes Park and the owner provided us with a lot of information to help us maximize our stay. The cabin is remote enough to offer beautiful, scenic views, but a close drive to town. We had a minor issue with tripping a breaker (7 women blow drying their hair) and the owner was super responsive and helpful. The house was extremely clean, roomy and we saw lots of wildlife while enjoying the hot tub. We would definitely visit again!

Whispering Pines Summer 2016

  • 5 of 5

Family of six get together at Whispering Pines was a blast! Loved the charm and rustic feel of the cabin in the woods. Many old fashioned features in this large home that easily slept six, yet had all the modern conveniences like Wi-Fi, microwave, all kitchen necessities, washer/dryer, bathroom necessities, two showers, etc. The big hot tub right outside the kitchen door was a huge plus every night after a full day of hiking and shopping. Location was the best!! 5 minute drive to downtown Estes, close to two grocery stores, and a 10 minute drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. Highly recommend taking Bear Road and then doing the Park and Ride to Bear Lake and hiking the trails of Nymph , Dream, and Emerald Lakes and then up to Alberta Falls. Beautiful scenery and waterfalls!! Worth every step!! Hard to see wildlife during the day. Hoping to see bear or moose, but no luck! Although, seven elk came to visit the front yard one afternoon (about 4 PM)!! The guys all saw them, but the ladies were busy shopping downtown. Finally, all of us saw a herd of elk up close on our last night (about 7:30 PM) as we headed to the Country Market on Mary's Lake Road to get some ice cream. Amazing!! At least 20 elk took turns crossing the road and headed into a grassy area by the Big Thompson River. Loved the convenience of shopping and dining in downtown Estes. Parked in lots off Moraine Ave. or W. Riverside Drive and walked to downtown.

Only negative: (nothing against the owners or the cabin) wished we could cross the street in front of the cabin to see and walk along side the Big Thompson River all the way to downtown Estes. Riverside Drive (where the cabin is located) is a busy road so we felt it was too dangerous to walk on the grass along the road. We could hear the river with the windows open (so nice!), but would love to walk beside it. Maybe someday the city of Estes will provide more safe paths to walk along the river into downtown Estes.

You will love your stay at Whispering Pines Cabin!!
