Great stay in wine country
The Oaks of Olivet was perfect for our family of four, including two young children. They loved seeing the animals and feeding them leaves. Accommodations were as reflected in the pics and very comfortable.
This was the perfect setting and location for our visit to wine country. From the moment I first contacted Michelle, I found her to be extremely informative and very prompt in her communication. The quiet country feel to this property was just what we were looking for. Each morning we were greeted by the quiet peaceful setting this property has to offer while enjoying nature at its finest. We returned home to the same, wonderful setting after our long days of exploring the area. The property has everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing stay in the Santa Rosa area.
Michelle and Loren were wonderful! From the moment we showed up, their first class hospitality was on display. Michelle walked us through the area map and provided insight (and directions) into the many wonderful things this area has to offer. This was most helpful for us as this was our first trip to the area. Delivery of a dozen freshly picked eggs was just one of the very kind gestures we received while staying.
If you are in the Santa Rosa area and looking for a quiet retreat, in a great location, look no further. This place checked all the boxes. We would certainly return as well as recommend to all those we know who will be visiting the Santa Rosa area. Highly recommended.
The perfect oasis in the middle of wine country.
Located on a beautiful wine country road the Oaks of Olivet is a perfect place to unwind. Michelle makes your stay truly welcoming (even running over coffee in the morning if you're out) and the location is close to everything!
The house has everything you need and is quite cozy. We would definitely look to stay here again during our next trip to wine country. Thank you Michelle!
Really enjoyed the house and the property. A really nice outdoor area, great for your morning coffee and then to unwind after touring wine country.
The property was beautiful, had many large trees, a meadow, animals...certainly my ideas of "almost heaven." The cottage was so cute and homey, and we enjoyed the outdoor seating areas very much! We sat in the chaises outside, drank wine and thoroughly enjoyed the view. Michelle and her husband met us when we arrived and were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We would love to return!!
9 award winning wineries right on Olivet Road. Santa Rosa Creek walking trail is close by, a short drive to get to (it will take you into downtown Santa Rosa). One side of the trail is paved and the other is gravel, so biking is also an option. A short 20 minute drive to the Armstrong Redwood Forest in Guerneville, a must see. We are also a 30 minute drive to Bodega Bay.
About Michelle Olson
We have enjoyed the Oaks of Olivet since 2004 as visitors to Sonoma County. In July of 2010 we made the move from Minnesota to live here full time. We are affordable housing developers and work from our home office. We are on site to make sure our guests have everything they need, but understand that guests call the shots on how much privacy is necessary.

Why Michelle Olson chose Santa Rosa
We fell in love in San Francisco and then visited wine country. This area was an annual anniversary trip for us after we married. The annual trips turned into quarterly visits to Sonoma and Napa. We truely fell for Sonoma and decided to purchase and make a plan to move here to live full time. Our 10 year plan has now come to fruition. We really love the friendly people in the area and the ease of life in general. The local fresh produce is also a real plus.
What makes this Cottage unique
We have 9 award winning wineries on our road. Our property has a full fruit orchard and gardens that we share with our guests. We currently have peach, pear, plum, apple, fig and apricots. We have recently added a propane fire pit behind the cottage for our guests to enjoy.
