What’ll it be this morning? A round of golf at the Maggie Valley Country Club, or maybe a scenic drive with the family to ooh and aah at the sunset-colored fall foliage on the Blue Ridge Parkway? Some boating on Lake Junaluska, or snowboarding at Cataloochee Ski Resort? Maybe another cup of coffee by the crackling fire while you think it over? This is your vacation, after all, and at Carolina Mountain Dream, you’ve got all the time in the world.

WHY CAROLINA MOUNTAIN DREAM?

1. Because there’s nothing like the Great Smoky Mountains in the fall, and CMD has long-range vistas from its spacious wrap-around deck. Because you’re only minutes from the slopes in winter and a short drive from Sliding Rock--nature’s funnest waterslide--in the summer.

2. Because our 3-bedroom home’s open layout and smartly designed master suite give you family time when you want it, privacy when you don’t.

3. And because you don’t need to overthink your vacation. CMD comes stocked with everything you need to feel at home, from shampoo and conditioner to olive oil and laundry detergent.

Wake up in the main-level master suite, equipped with its own full bath and luxurious king bed made up with the coziest Egyptian cotton sheets. Start your morning with breakfast on the open-concept main level, with its fireplace, and separate dining area.

Spend the day exploring the great outdoors or shopping in town, and unwind in a rocking chair with a glass of wine or sweet tea as the stars twinkle into view.

By evening, leave the upper level to the kids. The bonus room has books, games and an HDTV to keep them entertained for hours before they retreat to the adjoining bedroom which can sleep up to four in the two twin trundle beds.

CLOSE TO EVERYTHING IN WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA

Planning activities for a group can be a challenge, but not at CMD which is nestled into the mountains of Western North Carolina, in the heart of Maggie Valley. Foodies can eat their way through nearby Asheville, just 40 minutes away, where each restaurant is better than the last and a new craft brewery seems to crop up every week. History buffs are only 30 miles from the awe-inspiring Biltmore Estate. And thrill-seekers are perfectly positioned to explore the region’s best mountain biking, downhill skiing, zip-lining, white water rafting, boating and more.

And did we mention there are five golf courses within 12 miles of the house? Or just stick close to Waynesville for a Main Street, USA experience -- we’ve got a whole list of our favorite local spots to share with you when arrive. With eye-popping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Carolina Mountain Dream puts the excitement of Western NC at your fingertips.

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me via telephone (786-412-0912) or email (marilyn@mountaingetaways.net). I would love to help make your trip to Western North Carolina the best you have ever experienced!

Why Marilyn Butler chose Smoky Mountains

We find that many of our guests are extended families, which is how we love to travel ourselves! The layout and spaciousness at Carolina Mountain Dream gives folks an opportunity to spend time gathered around the kitchen or grilling out on the deck and helps build wonderful memories together in a gorgeous setting. When you want to get out, there is no shortage of attractions and activities the whole family can enjoy year-round. We have owned our home a number of years now and still haven't visited all of the places of interest nearby!

Many of our guests return year after year to Carolina Mountain Dream. They know they will find everything they need here - they just need to pack clothes, pick up a few grocery items, and enjoy the comforts of their home away from home. Like having their own vacation property... but without the expense!

Even though we live in Florida and only get to greet guests by phone or email, they have been some of the nicest people we have ever encountered. Hotels can't offer the warmth and comfort an actual home provides. We want our guests to feel like family and hope that by making their stay as stress-free as possible, they will consider us a part of theirs too.

What makes this house unique

We enjoy sitting on the porch rockers and just gazing at the mountains as we have our morning coffee or afternoon iced tea.

Stargazing at night is a favorite activity also. We divide our time over just relaxing or taking a walk in the area and visiting the area attractions such as the Biltmore Estate, Blue Ridge Parkway, white water rafting, ziplining.

One trip is usually not enough to experience everything the area has to offer and many of our guests return year after year. The time we spend at Carolina Mountain Dream is never enough and it leaves us wanting to schedule our next trip as soon as we get back home.

Well appointed mountain side home for the whole family.

  • 5 of 5

Our family and our dogs (!) loved our stay at CMD! It's a beautiful three-story home at the top of a hillside neighborhood. It's a quiet yet centrally located home. We spent time in Asheville and did several days in the Smoky Mountain Natl Park. The Maggie Valley location was central to both. This home has Plenty of space for the whole family. We were only 4 people, but I can definitely see how a larger group with various generations would be quite comfortable here. The central living and front porch are awesome for meals and coffee breaks. Another big perk of this beautifully decorated home is that there are basics available to you to get you started so that the grocery store is not your first stop the night you drive in! The toiletries and certainly the coffee were a welcome sight after a long drive in. We loved this home for our family vacation and would love to visit again. The owners were also super nice and responsive. Do not hesitate to book your family vacation at Carolina Mountain Dream!!

Beautiful views, awesome front porch!

  • 5 of 5

We had plenty of room with several comfortable areas to simply relax. Our favorite had to be the long front porch with expansive views of the Smokey's and Maggie Valley. The comfort systems were working well, appliances, AC, lighting...it made for a care free stay. It was the 2nd highest home on the hillside, which was pretty cool for people from north Texas where everything is flat. The home was as clean as a whistle. The pictures are the real deal!

We really enjoyed Maggie Valley (and it's restaurants, especially Frankie's), Soco Falls, Smokey Mountain National Park, Smokey Mountain Railroad, and the Biltmore in Ashville. If you happen to be by the Charlotte Airport, the Flight Museum has the complete 'Miracle on the Hudson' plane, shattered engines and all !

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for highlighting some of the best features of our home. We're from very flat South Florida and appreciate the majesty of those mountain peaks and all of the surrounding natural beauty as well. We didn't know about the Flight Museum and will be sure to take a trip there to see Sully's plane, so thanks for posting that, too. Let us know when you're ready to return. You can always check availability on our website at MountainGetaways.net.

Luxury in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I loved everything about our stay. From the start, Marilyn was great about communicating info about the stay and local attractions, and provided a thorough guide about the best restaurants and things to do. Upon arrival, we were very pleased with the upscale touches in the home. If you're looking for a rustic cabin getaway, this place is not for you. If you're looking for a modern luxurious home, that just happens to be up in the mountains, then this is a great pick! Granite counters, stainless steel appliances, frameless shower, flatscreen TVs in each room, all very modern! Everything you need for a stay is provided for cooking, cleaning, laundry, plus towels, bath products, extra linens, etc. Very nice touch, compared to some rentals that require a stop at the grocery store for even the basics.

We traveled with our children, and really liked that each one could sleep on a separate floor so that neither woke the other...plus adults in the master on main, also on a separate floor from each kid :) The upstairs bonus room was a great spot for the kids to play, and they enjoyed some of the toys and games in the house.

What we loved most about the home is that it was close enough to town that it wasn't more than 3 or 4 minutes or so from the heart of Maggie Valley, yet it was far enough up the mountain that you have peace and tranquility on the massive balcony, with great views to the mountains. We spent tons of time just sitting in the rocking chairs looking out at those views!

No complaints, thanks so much Marilyn for sharing your beautiful home! My daughter is already asking when we can go back!

WOW!!! The views and home are amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for sharing your home with us! my family and I have rented many homes in many places , this one was by far the nicest ! It was clean and well stocked when we arrived! Then there was the View! I spent most of my time sitting on the porch enjoying it!!!! Coffee in the morning watching the sun light up the mountains and then watching it go down and the colors wow! The house was so roomy. The kids were upstairs most of the time we were there. It was a great space for them. The pictures don't show that you can close a door between the spaces up there for some extra privacy. The main living room ,kitchen dining room had lots of space and seating. Also the master is off this area and you can close the door and not know ....And also great views ;-)... the down stairs..... was its own amazing space.... it has a room off the bedroom to sit and yet again admire the view. Plenty of room for large groups .........

The kitchen has everything you could need. Little things like spices Very handy!

Let's not forget the owner! Great job ! You can tell that you work hard to ensure that the people who rent your home ,enjoy it! Thank you! My kids (8,11) even said they are going to miss this place ! Don't get that much!

The area is great to. Easy in and out. Lots to see and do. Thank you. Can't wait to get back up there!
