About Randy Skalski

We hope that you have a wonderful stay at our log cabin. We lived in Colorado for more than 20 years and after a careful search, purchased this cabin for our family’s use during frequent trips to Colorado and enjoy sharing it with our guests. Thank-you for being our guest and we hope you will return.

Randy Skalski purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Randy Skalski chose Front Range

We love the setting of our cabin, nestled in a canyon, with a roaring creek, surrounded by National Forest, and without another home in sight. We also like the convenient location near the lively and vibrant City of Denver, with every available cultural activity and amenity; the quaint and historic town of Idaho Springs; and all the splendid sights and activities in the Rocky Mountains.

What makes this cabin unique

The sights and sounds of the creek are truly magical. On a more practical note, the cabin is extremely easy to find and easy to get to anytime of year on paved roads that are snow-plowed regularly. Winter access is about as good as it gets for the mountains in Colorado.

Wonderful Stay. Words can't hardly describe it, but if I had to use 1...Majestic!

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about our stay! The property owner was super easy to work with. We enjoyed indoor & outdoor fires every night. This place is worth the stay 20 times over! The creek & trails are beautiful. Good eating in town (The Buffalo & Beau Jo's are great, skip El Rancho) snowboarding, scenic drives, so much to list, all close by. We had 4 adults this time, but we will definitely be coming back & bringing our children. Thank you so much for opening up this lovely cabin 4 rental! I highly recommend this spot for any Colorado trips young or old, so much fun, so much to do, so beautiful & so relaxing!! 😊

Beautiful cabin and property

  • 5 of 5

First, let me say the pictures on this site do not do this cabin and property justice. The cabin is beautiful inside and very spacious. It is tastefully decorated and is supplied with absolutely everything needed and then some. (Laundry soap, dish soap, paper towels, coffee/tea, shampoo/conditioner....the list goes on and on) The master bedroom and bathroom were the perfect size and our 8 year old LOVED having the huge loft all to herself. The front porch was the perfect spot to sit and watch the water when it rained and the key-less entry was a bonus because there were no keys/card to have to keep up with. My family came up from Denver for dinner and could not say enough about what a gem we had found.

Second, the property. So wonderful! We slept with the bedroom windows open every night to hear the creek. There are several good places to fish from along the creek and while we saw fish in the water, my husband only had a few nibbles. The creek-side patio is perfect and I sat down there every morning to drink my tea and enjoy the creek and wildlife. Unfortunately, there was a fire ban while we were there so no evening fire in the chiminea. Quick drive to Idaho Springs and easy access to the rest of the mountains that I love and miss so much!

Finally, communication with the owner was excellent. He sent reminders, tips and answered questions immediately. Every detail has been considered and we could not have asked for a better place to spend our Colorado vacation.

Colorado Rockies Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Arapaho Cliffs Log Cabin in June 2017. It is a great location to make frequent trips to Mt Evans. The mountain goats that frequent the 14,000 ft peak have kids this time of year and they are a delight to watch and photograph. The marmots and pikas are a plus for the nature lover and photographer. This cabin is wonderfully appointed but is close to the restaurants of Idaho Springs if you need them. The owner is great to work with and the cabin is highly recommended.

Owner's Response: Jane and Rinus take amazing wildlife and nature photos at exotic places all over the world. I'm honored that they chose our cabin as their base camp to explore Mt. Evans in two different years.
