Bienvenido a Astrid's Digs en Bald Head Island

¡Todo lo que necesitas en un hogar! Tenemos un plano de planta abierto con la sala principal y la suite principal en la planta baja. El dormitorio principal tiene una cama king size y amplio baño. Arriba hay dos dormitorios más con baño compartido. El segundo dormitorio tiene una cama king y el tercer dormitorio tiene 2 gemelos. Afuera hay una habitación separada (crofter). Nuestro exclusivo crofter tiene una cocina completa con nevera, lavavajillas, microondas y zona de comedor. Hay una cama queen, una cama queen murphy y un baño. ¡Hay mucho espacio para otra familia! ¡El espacio exterior es igual de agradable! Tenemos un gran porche y mucho espacio al aire libre con nuestro patio trasero cercado. También tenemos un carro de 4 y 6 pasajeros. ¡Hemos pensado en todo para que su estancia con nosotros sea perfecta e inolvidable!

great vacation

Great house in a great area. We love East Beach. We have a large family so the crofter on this house made it extremely nice.

Convenient location walk to the beautiful pristine beach.

Comfortable home with comfortable beds and clean linen. Extra little house behind the main house was special . Could use some updating of furnishings to brighten the home. Extra cleaning of furniture, rugs, and outdoor furniture would add value especially during the pandemic and during the holidays. Thank you for hosting us.

Cozy and comfortable

We stayed for a blustery weekend (45 degrees and windy) and were very warm and comfortable. No issues with the two golf carts, wifi, or TVs. I emailed for clarification around check-out and got a prompt reply. Layout was perfect for our multigenerational household- grandparent in the downstairs master, parents and younger kids upstairs, and teenagers in the crofter. Would definitely stay here again!

House needs work

The Air-conditioning did not work. The property needs a very deep clean. The house stinks. The crofter was moldy. Exterior lights were burned out. The furniture was dirty/stained.

Great location But

Not super clean when we arrived- floors gritty and screened porch was dirty. There were no brooms to try to keep the floors swept and clean. The most upsetting thing was the charcoal grill grate was completely rusted & unusable! We couldn’t grill for the whole week! One six seater golf cart needs new battery, very slow! Also the living room seating did not accommodate 7 people. Needs an L shaped sofa or a love seat to be added.

Great house, good location with a few minor flaws

Astrid’s Digs sleeps 12 but there were only five of us, so we all had plenty of personal space. Our adult daughter and boyfriend stayed in the crofter, which has enough room for another family. The outdoor space was beautifully landscaped with a screened in porch and fenced in yard for our dog. The only negative was how disorganized/packed the kitchen cabinets were. Someone needs to go in there off season and take some stuff out. Also, there was only one working lamp in the living room. Suggest replacing the three, non-working lamps. The house could sleep 12 but there are only 3 bathrooms. That might not be enough with 12 people staying.

We love BHI

My title reflects the island, not necessarily this home. This house is badly in need of repair. The carpets are disgusting, huge stains in 2nd floor hallway, the downstairs bedroom carpeting is stained and very dirty, to the point its uncomfortable to walk barefoot on. The kitchen is a complete mish mash of utensils, flatware and dishes. The overall impression of the home is that its needs have been maintained on a renter request basis and owners have not set foot in the home in a very long time. Light bulbs are nonexistent on the exterior of the home, including the screened in porch, which made it useless after dark. Forewarning, there is only a charcoal grill in this home. Each room had maybe one functioning lamp, all other lamps have burned out bulbs. The crofter had not been cleaned prior to our arrival, the sheets were stuffed into the armoire in both the crofter bedroom and the crofter great room, making us question if they had been washed. The bathroom still had toothpaste residue from prior occupants, and the floor had not been cleaned. The 6 passenger golf cart garage opener is non functioning, you must hand open the door each time you use the cart. The 6 passenger golf cart is very very very slow, clearly batteries need to be replaced soon. We had the need to call the property manger re a leaking (all over the floor) sink, they responded promptly and repaired the problem very quickly. Having said all this, we rent VRBO properties all over the US, we've seen much worse, and we can live with a lot of less then stellar properties, BHI is such a special place for us, that while the home was not great it did not stop us from enjoying ourselves, however with all the other available properties on BHI, this home will not be a property we would return too.

Spacious, well-appointed, and clean

Perfect location on Bald Head, clean, lots of extra towels, and kitchen was fully equipped for cooking with extra dishes. A few minor housekeeping items (short a few sheets and an air conditioning problem) were corrected immediately by attentive management. This is a classic Bald Head property in a perfect location with great amenities. Two golf carts in good condition. If you like riding bikes, bring your own.

Our favorite rental so far!

Absolutely loved this rental! Beautiful space, cozy beds! The crofter was ideal for in-laws and the yard wa a great for the pups. We have rented for years at BHI and this is our favorite rental! We look forward to another trip.

A great get away

We loved this property. It was a perfect location, clean and had a well stocked kitchen. Yard for the dog was great. Would definitely stay again.

Communication with BHI was terrible. Cell phone service was bad. Contacted 911 in Wilmington for assistance.

Nice house but not well maintained.

House location and floor plan is very nice. Close to beach and Shoals Club. But house is not well maintained. Broken fence. Vegetation not maintained. Overgrown plants block walkways and entrance. Mold growing on outside walls that need painting. Multiple TVs but only one TV actually was hooked up to cable. Master BR TV not hooked up to cable. You would think they could add an extra cable box for $5/month. If we knew the house was better maintained, we would book again.

Can't imagine a better stay

The photos don't do this property justice. The house is beautiful, open and pristine and the yard is private, quiet, shady, and lovely. We loved our stay here, and found the kitchen to be well stocked and the decor of the house is just lovely. There is plenty of room, and the crofter is such a great bonus space, now with Wifi! The location is ideal--just a few minutes on the golf cart to either East Beach or South Beach and you could choose to easily walk to both beaches, as well as to Mike's Bites. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and we loved the proximity to the Conservancy as well. Just a perfect stay!

Bald Head is Special

The house worked out great. Yard was bigger than advertised, bedrooms very large, outdoor shower always a plus. The kitchen was well stocked, charcoal grill a treat and distance to the Club and East Beach a breeze. Gotta be honest though, as we were disappointed in the fact that the bikes were useless, fridge in garage didn’t work and wasn’t fixable during our stay, 4 person golf cart would apply brakes regularly and at times just beep beep beep and stop altogether. No WiFi or cable in Crofter made using the small living room in house at night for the 7 of us very tight and not a way to relax at days end. Ice maker in kitchen fridge was jammed so the market was our savior for bagged ice. Even right after the Hurricane Bald Head didn’t disappoint
