Squaw Valley... Magical Setting on Squaw Creek

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,800 sq ft
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 - 4 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Designed by well known Squaw Valley Architect, Dave Tucker, this single level house is warm and inviting, offering peace and serenity just one mile from the lifts of Squaw Valley USA. The 14 foot high floor to ceiling windows on two sides fill the home with light and a grand feeling of connection to the outdoors. Privately nestled in the trees next to the creek, enjoy watching the snow fall outside of the tall glass windows. Curl up on the day beds overlooking the creek while a fire crackles in the volcanic rock fireplace. Slip into the eight person deluxe outdoor hot tub to unwind and relax while you listen to the babbling brook. Snow shoe or cross country ski in the meadow across the street.

In spring, summer or fall walk out onto the large deck for afternoon BBQ's or a nap in the hammock. Climb on the granite boulders in the creek (or the one that comes through the deck). Enjoy lots of flat grassy area for kids to play. The house is located on a flat cul de sac offering easy access during winter and an ideal playground for kids in summer.

Squaw Valley USA, site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, is a fabulous ski resort offering a broad range of terrain. We have skied all over the Lake Tahoe area and it is by far our favorite mountain. The Village at Squaw Valley has cobblestone pedestrian walks and hosts numerous restaurants and shops. There is a shuttle that takes skiers to and from the mountain and it stops just four houses down the street.

There are two bedrooms with king beds and a bunkroom that will accommodate up to six people. In addition, there are two day beds and a pullout couch in the living room. This house is ideal for one or two families with children and is sure to leave you with amazing memories of a fabulous vacation in the mountains!

Comfortable, quiet, great family cabin

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our family. A couple of days of quiet and bonding. We explored the stream, climbed rocks and built small damns, relaxed in hot tub and played games. Beds are great w lots of extra pillows and blankets, lots of board games and movies. Close to Squaw Valley, Truckee and Tahoe City. Would definitely come back.

Excellent location!!

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect place for our group! It was two couples and plenty of room. The place was clean, awesome location to Sqaw Valley, hiking and Tahoe City. We really enjoyed the stream that bordered the back yard and spent a lot of time on the large rocks / water out back. Hot tub was great as well ! Kitchen has basically everything and we live to cook so very conducive for preparing meals. Owners were excellent to work with and provided awesome restaurant recommendations. Would definitely stay here again. We want to come back in the winter. Summer was awesome and I’m sure winter is going to be great as well.

Homeaway made renting a property so convenient. I was kept up to date on the process the entire time

  • 5 of 5

The property was in a beautiful setting on the creek, the kids loved playing in the creek, and listening to the water in the evening was magical. The home was very welcoming and comfortable for 4 adults and 4 kids. We had everything we needed right there, and the location is perfect for all the activites we had planned. Greg made us feel very welcomed and right at home. We look forward to another stay in the future!

Big house with nice deck

  • 4 of 5

Nice house, plenty of beds, in the woods but quite nearby other houses, highlights were the large deck and jacuzzi with a path leading down to a pretty creek.

beautiful well stocked home

  • 5 of 5

This house is really a wonderful vacation home. We have stayed in many places, and a place always seems to be missing something. But this home really had it all. There were plenty of board games for all to enjoy, DVDs, and we even found random toys, books, and for the kiddos. The kitchen is laid out well with great cookware, not the typical rental pots and pans that are usually worn out and questionable. Basics like oil, spices, and pantry items saved us a trip for small items you only use a couple times.

The rooms are big with great storage , lots of extra sheets, pillows and towels. Living room had plenty of seating with the bench along the windows. The layout of the house was great for socializing with the open layout.

We had 3 kids under the age of 4. You have to watch the little ones when out on the deck, but its large and we had fun with bubbles, and hanging out in the space.

Finally the view is fabulous. The large windows everywhere, and the creek access from the house couldn't be beat. Easy drive to village and town.

Easy check in, very communicative landlord. We would definitely recommend the home and stay here again.
