Jewel in Johnson City
We absolutely loved stying in this Historic House in Johnson City. The house was so quaint and cozy. The location was perfect; we love Pecan Street Brewery and it was just across the street. You are a short drive to all the great places in the Hill Country. We will definitely stay here again! Great find and the owners did a great job renovating this cute home.
Best stay and location in the Hill Country
This property hit all the marks; cleanliness, location, great communication; comfortable. We were blown away by the excellent value and the nice touches. We were fortunate to find this property for a last-minute trip to the Texas Hill Country. We were doubly fortunate that the property is right on the square, across from the courthouse in Johnson City during the city's annual Christmas lighting. What a sight. Even though we live in Texas we have never been to Johnson City during the holidays. We took advantage of the location. Just minutes to Garrison Brothers Distillery and Hye Cider, both in Hye. Only 30 minutes to shopping and eating in Fredericksburg. And 20 minutes to one of Texas Parks & Wildlife's crown jewels, Pedernales State Park. Can't recommend Reed and his property enough. Do yourself a favor, stop looking now and book this place. And oh, you are steps away from Pecan Street Brewery... get the Sweet Fried Chicken. Sure, it's not keto, but hey, you're on vacation.
Tim, thank you so much for the detailed and well thought out review. I'm so glad that you and your family enjoyed our house. It is so special to us and just makes us so happy every time we are able to be there. It was a pleasure sharing it with you and your family. All the things you experienced are all the things that makes it so special to us. Can't wait to go back! Wishing all the best for you and your family and I hope you have the ability to return soon. You are welcome back with open arms! - Reed
Such a Lovely Home!
This home is simply lovely! We stayed in December so we were able to enjoy the Christmas lights in Johnson City and when I say enjoy I mean we just walked outside because you are in the main square of this cute hallmark like town. Super kid friendly especially during the holidays and you must take the kiddos to the science museum (within walking distance). This would also be an ideal place to stay at for a girls trip because you are right off 290 where several amazing vineyards/wineries are located. LBJ ranch is also close and absolutely beautiful! Also don’t skip Pedernales Falls for some great hiking with amazing views!!! And if you are wanting to do some shopping there are several cute stores within walking distance and if you want to do more shopping you can make the short drive over to Fredericksburg!!
Love this house!
We spent four nights here for a family get together. The house was perfect. All the rooms were spacious and pretty and very well appointed. Beds were very comfortable. The house has everything needed and more! Reed provided all info before we checked in and was just a text away. With an older house I was pleasantly surprised with how quiet the house was from street noise. It is within walking distance to most all of Johnson City. Be sure to make a tasting appointment at Crowson's if you enjoy wine and have dinner at Bryan's on 290 if you can. These are our favorite places, but there are so many other great places to visit all within walking distance. This is such a lovely, comfortable house in a great location. We were so happy to stay here and look forward to staying here again another time.
Great location for family vacation
The house was charming and well maintained. There were plenty of amenities. The downtown location provided easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the LBJ park.
