About Cristina Ladas

I currently reside in Phoenix with my husband and 3 great kids... but love escaping to our cabin in Flagstaff. With 3 kids (ages 7, 9, 11) we have less and less time to make it up there so we have decided to let others enjoy it while we can't.

I work in Cave Creek School District as the world language coordinator and grant director. I also freelance as a grant writer and external evaluator. I love languages and traveling!

Cristina Ladas purchased this cabin in 2001

Why Cristina Ladas chose Fort Valley Estates

In a mere 2 hour drive north from sunny Phoenix, we can be sipping hot chocolate on our cabin deck listening to the pine trees sway in the cool breeze. In winter, if it's raining here, it's probably snowing at the cabin! Quick, get in the car and grab the sleds!

What makes this cabin unique

There are not many authentic log cabins in Flagstaff...much less, ones that sit on 2.5 acres and border the national forest. At slightly higher elevation than downtown Flagstaff, the cabin is just a bit cooler in summer and snowier in winter. It's just before you hit the turnoff for Snow Bowl Ski Resort. Since it's on the north side of Flagstaff, it's a perfect spot for exploring northern AZ (Canyon is only 72 miles away)!

Words aren't enough.

My husband, 2 daughters and I had a very wonderful and relaxing time at the cabin. Words cannot express the beauty and craftsmanship of the cabin itself which by the way was stocked with every amenity you would need.. My girls loved playing in the kid tree house which kept them busy for hours. We are looking forward to going back again this winter.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is our yearly summer getaway from the desert heat. We never get tired of this beautiful cabin with the spectacular Mountain View’s. It’s so peaceful there. Honestly, we always hate to leave, we consider the cabin our second home. We can’t wait for our next stay

Perfect lodging in Grand Canyon/Sedona area.

  • 5 of 5

This house was spacious and well maintained. The setting in the woods gave us a great quiet retreat during our visit. The property was super clean and well stocked. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The owners are very organized and gave us plenty of detailed instructions for the house.

If you are staying anywhere near the Flagstaff area, then you should book this house.

We will definitely keep this one bookmarked for future visits.

Vacation Home Run 101

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 (3 adult children) had a wonderful time (1 wk stay) at this remote yet convenient location. First, the home is the essence of a true log cabin.....except that it is large enough not to be cramped. The amenities were more than adequate. And the remote, wooded setting allowed for constant viewing of wildlife (deer, coyotes and the unique Kaibab squirrel). The request to conserve water use due to the "limited" water storage tank was in no way an inconvenience in any manner. The DSL wifi is slow but cell coverage is surprisingly good so there are no issues. There are so many National Park trips and hikes available within a 30-60 minute drive, the location is supremely convenient. The TVs, DVP, gas grill, etc were all in good condition and easy to use. We will definitely recommend this to others and would return in a heartbeat. Cristina.....thanks for sharing your wonderful home with our family.
