Find yourself in the Past.......
Open the windows and dance across the old-growth, clearwood floors. Cozy up by the original 1908, wood burning fireplace and enjoy your surroundings, watch a movie, or better yet play a game or read a book. Set an adventurous agenda, or do nothing at all. The Loft is located upstairs in the CJ Howe Building overlooking Oregon's 3rd oldest pioneer town and filming location for 1980's Rob Reiner film, Stand By Me.
Previously a boarding facility for the railroad, the Loft's unique accommodations are perfect for large families and close friends: 2 king sized beds, 1 queen, 2 twin trundle bed and 2 inflatable beds. We have to pinch ourselves every time we stay at this very special place... it is truly an amazing piece of history.
The Loft is dog-friendly with a $15/night "spoiled dog" fee.

Exceeded our expectations
I would highly recommend staying at the C.J. Howe loft if you get the opportunity. It is extremely comfortable and has all the amenities that you could possibly need. The check in/out process was simple and the owner was available if we needed anything, which we did not. We travel frequently and really enjoyed the town and the accommodations.
Nice vibe and quaint town
The loft has a great vibe, and it is spacious and clean. We were a group of 7 and used all the beds. We also used all the fans, as it was over 100 degrees outside during our stay. The nights are nice and cool. The living room/kitchen area is very large and a great gathering place. The Stand By Me walking tour was fun, and the food at the Saloon and Wine Bar was terrific. We walked around town and in the neighborhood and both are simply beautiful. Lastly, the owners are very responsive and pleasant.
Clean, spacious and full of character. I like it old.
The house is spacious and clean and will consider renting it again. The floor is noisy, but not annoying. Some drivers are very inconsiderate gunning their noisy cars and trucks. I guess it comes with the culture of the area. Thanks for renting it to us. Regards, Asghar
Home away from home!
We always love returning to this loft. Thank you so much for sharing your treasure with us once again! We enoyed the WIne Bar below also, great addition to Brownsville.
We will return again August 2017!!
Like an old friend...
This was our third stay here, the last being almost 4 years ago. We were very happy to return here, in fact once I knew when the Stand By Me 30th Anniversary event was, I booked almost a year in advance!
The quaint, historic town is the site of the Linn County Pioneer Picnic and the setting for much of the movie Stand By Me.
The people are quite friendly, you're only 30 minutes from Eugene, the river is a 2 minute walk away and there's plenty to do for such a small town, too.
The loft is very spacious, and the kitchen/dining/family room are wonderful for cooking/eating/socializing together. The bedrooms are very comfortable as well. It has been updated since my last stay and all of the improvements are great! We only had 6 of us this time, but it can easily handle more.
I highly recommend staying here if you're going to be in the Eugene or Albany area.
Great place to stay!
The loft is a great spot for game weekends! Comfy beds, great kitchen, and cozy furniture!
Thanks Torri, we are happy you had a great time at the Loft. We hope to hear from you another game (or non-game) weekend :) - Kelly
