Private Guest Suite - Country Living near Everything

Your own patio, private entrance, bedroom, sitting room with a wet bar/kitchenette and bath in a private home - The property sits on 5 acres but is convenient to shopping, night life and businesses. We are near Windward Parkway and McFarland Road as well as downtown Alpharetta. Cumming GA and Lake Lanier are less than a half hour drive.
The home was an originally a farmhouse, built around the 1940's. It was moved across town to its current location and a large addition was constructed in 1989. The property is flanked by acreage on both sides and sits back from the main road.
The suite features laminate flooring, a large bedroom with queen-size memory foam mattress, private sitting room with wet bar and private entrance off its own patio. It has its own bath with shower. Microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, cook top and television are furnished. Designated parking is just a few steps from the patio.
This property is not suitable for children or pets as there is no barrier between the house and the pool.
We are a non smoking household. Smoking is not allowed. No parties or loud music or additional overnight guests other than registered guests.

Great location

The property is near great restaurant, grocery stores and has easy access to highway. It is very close to Windward Plaza in Alpharetta GA and the owner Sherry was always there if needed something. It is located in peaceful wooded land.

We love remodeling, traveling and anything mind expanding like taking classes and workshops. Since we're seldom home, it is great that we can share our wonderful space with travelers and guests.

Why they chose this property

This is a unique, one of a kind home. The original part of the house was moved from a horse farm that I sold to a developer. I cut the trees off the property and milled them right here to build the main part of the home in the new location. The part of the home where you'll be staying is build with oak lumber and popular framing. The newer updates are all standard materials from the big box suppliers except for the mantle-piece which I (Sherry) built by myself when I first remodeled. We love the private feel here. It is in the middle of horse farms and woods with only one close neighbor. It's like being in the mountains, but with the convenience of the suburbs.There is a creek on the back of the property and an old ruins of a barn.

What makes this property unique

Privacy is one of the most unique characteristics of this home. It is not in a subdivision and has no really close neighbors (2 houses within 300 ft are the closest). The patio is great for morning coffee in the warm months or for a picnic lunch or dinner. The house is out of sight of the road. There are horse farms on both sides, an upscale gated community across the main road and a golf course within walking distance. With all the privacy, it's minutes from Avalon Mall, Grassland and Windward Pky shopping. The swimming pool is open from the first hot days of late spring until it turns cold in the late fall.
