Fantastic Family Holiday at Le Couvent
We've just spent a brilliant week at Le Couvent in St Just Sur Viaur! It was an ideal location for our family holiday (- 2adults and 3 teenagers). Louise was a fantastic hostess, very welcoming and hospitable and we quickly felt very much at home. Le Couvent is full of character and our 3 en-suite rooms were very spacious, comfortable and well-equipped with beautiful views over the picturesque valley below. The recently added Garden Room provided an idyllic setting for meals and a place to relax. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts, picnic lunch and occasional delicious evening meals. We especially appreciated the fact that Louise was flexible and accommodating with regards our family's particular tastes. We all enjoyed the freedom to ramble, the tranquillity of the location and the space in the grounds around the house with the company of the dogs, cats and hens. There's plenty of scope for short and long walks as well as swimming in the Viaur River- which was a particular hit with the children. Louise was a wealth of information on the local area and beyond and was extremely helpful in giving us guidance on places to visit and things to do. The area of Aveyron, and beyond, is steeped in history with many interesting towns, villages and sites to visit and explore. We particularly enjoyed visiting Najac, Villefranche de Rouergue, Sauveterre de Rouergue, Milllau Bridge and Albi all of which were within easy driving distance from Le Couvent. The local viewpoint, Roc de Miramont is well worth a visit too as it gives a panoramic view of the stunning scenery of the surrounding area. Louise's friendliness and that of the local people, some of whom we were privileged to meet, made our week very special and memorable. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Couvent and would highly recommend it as a holiday destination!
