Great summer vacation spot not too far from home

  • 5 of 5

This place is perfect for anyone looking to have a resort-like experience within easy driving distance of Cleveland, Toledo, Detroit, and the surrounding areas. The waterfront area is extremely walkable (various restaurants, the Jet Express for Lake Erie Islands, admiring the older Sandusky homes), and driving to grocery stores, the mall, Cedar Point, Port Clinton, Marblehead, etc., takes hardly any time at all.

As for the condo experience, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised - it felt like a good hotel. The owner could not have been more helpful or accessible, like a good concierge; and the pool and hot tub were well-maintained. The condo itself was fabulous: not the Waldorf=Astoria, but a Hilton - clean, good-quality furniture and linens. The added bonus is the stuff from home you don't get at a hotel: a full-size refrigerator, stove, coffee machine, cooking utensils, silverware, etc. The neighbors are a mix of vacationers and semi-permanent residents, and everyone is friendly and low-key.

It's a great place to vacation, because you're in the middle of everything the Lake Erie Islands area has to offer, but you can make your own meals and relax on the patio if you need some time off from sight-seeing.

Weekend Get-Away. October 2011

  • 4 of 5

Relaxing home away from home. Photos depict property perfectly. Very clean and comfortable. Only drawback was that the Jet Express to Put-in-Bay does not operate from the location next door during the month of October.

Loved this place!

  • 4 of 5

Was not in the least disappointed. Looked just like the pictures. Very clean. What a neat concept--love it when buildings are repurposed. Walking distance to several restaurants. Loved the New Sandusky Fish Market. Great food--about 2 blocks from the condo. The owner was great to work with.

Great unit, very clean and pristine, in nearly-new condition. Had everything I needed.

Great view of the lake and the park. I especially liked watching the big ships going by real close. Will be back!
