About the owner: We are Denver area residents who use and love this property year round as a second home for recreation with family, weekends with friends, and quiet get-aways. This property is rented out only a few times a year, as the owners use it most of the time. They take great pride in maintaining the property and manage it as well in order to protect and preserve its beauty and comfort. This results in a gorgeous property for those times that it is rented.
Why the Owner Chose Woodmoor (Breckenridge, CO, USA):
When the owners built this property, they carefully sited it at the head of a canyon offering incredible mountain views across the Blue River valley to the ski area, Ten Mile Range, and south towards nearby 14,000+ foot Mount Quandary. In the foreground is Copper Canyon, one of the few areas in Breckenridge with untouched Voodoos (sand monuments left behind by hydraulic mining of the area). The mining heritage also provides fascinating hiking opportunities to see old mine headworks, rusting steam engines, miners cabins, and test holes dug by eager prospectors, all within hiking distance right from the front door. The town of Breckenridge is also a major factor, with its year round possibilities for skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, ice skating, cross-country skiing and the like. The historical origins of the town as a mining town long before skiing was cool gives the town charm and solidity and quaintness not found in destination resorts.

As noted, our home won our hearts with its tremendous mountain views. It never gets old to walk in the front door, cross to the enormous wall of windows, and gaze out at the majesty of the Rockies. Whether gloriously lit on sunny mornings, dappled with shade from clouds moving across the valley, or shrouded in falling snow, the expanse of alpine grandeur never ceases to captivate us. To showcase these views, the great room features a large fire place next to the wall of windows, allowing you to take in the mountains or snow falling from the comfort of a roaring fireside. From the island in the kitchen to the dining room table to the deck overlooking the wildflowers and Voodoos, the views never end. When you are ready for some quiet and relaxation, the master bedroom is the perfect retreat, with a fire place, massaging-jet shower, and a large jetted tub, all near more windows looking out over the firepit, canyon and Ten Mile Range. Each feature is a great way to unwind after a long hard day of activities. Finally the lowest level gives you a chance to choose your speed of entertainment - hunker down for a movie with popcorn on the entertainment system, or watch the game while shooting pool?
