Le Clos Marie-Françoise brings together a building and its refurbished stables from the 17th century in the historic center of a small village of Anjou located on the banks of the Loire within the perimeter of the Loire Valley, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Between vineyards and castles,
The house is nestled between the town hall and the village church.
Le Clos Marie-Françoise has adapted to the needs of modern comfort while retaining its period style over more than 300 m2.
A large enclosed garden hosts the private heated swimming pool and a large pergola / pool house covered with vines housing its bar and summer kitchen.
The swimming pool is linked to a large summer mezzanine lounge with its own kitchen.
The interior spaces of the 17th century house as well as those of the stables are largely dimensioned and harmoniously distributed with a living room with a large Louis XIII style fireplace and a dining room opening onto a breakfast terrace. one side and the other on the garden and its swimming pool.
The 4 very spacious bedrooms located on the upper floors are reminiscent of the past with its period beams and framework, its large 17th century fireplaces and its terracotta floor tiles.

Great property in a fantastic location

A really comfortable house with a lovely garden and pool, in an excellent location. And Pierre was very helpful and responsive too.

Pierre is a helpful and friendly host, who met us at the property and who was easily contacted if necessary.The property was delightful with a lovely pool with outside kitchen and Shady eating area. Parking was outside the front gate or in the car parking area across the road.There are many châteaux and other interesting places nearby. We particularly liked sailing on the river a few miles up-river with “Reves sur Loire”.

Superb house

The best holiday house we have ever stayed in. Agree with all the other reviews and would also add the joy of swimming in a heated pool at the end of October and the excellent Boulanger in the village Merci Pierre

The house is amazing and all the details have been thought about. Fantastic living space, well equipped kitchens, super comfortable bedrooms, great showers and lots of space. Decorated to a really high standard. We practically lived outside, lots of space to sit in or out of the sun, another really well stocked kitchen with lots of fridge space and a fantastic well maintained pool. Our host Pierre was fabulous and went above and beyond in making our stay wonderful. Can't say enough good things, it was great!!

We all had a fantastic time, Pierre is a wonderful host and could not have be more helpful. The villa is beautiful and has everything you need for a relaxing break, the garden is stunning and it’s location near to the Loire made the whole week perfect in every way. Our only regret………..we didn’t book for 2 weeks. We will be back again next year.Thank you Pierre

Holiday

We had a very nice week exploring the Loire. The property is lovely and beautifully designed. We used the bikes in the garage for some picturesque bike rides and sat by the pool in the evenings and enjoyed the sunsets. Thanks Pierre!

Holiday

We spent 2 glorious weeks in this lovely house. The pool and facilities were amazing. The children were well catered for with bikes, pool toys, table tennis and a lovely garden to play in . The outside kitchen was just what we were looking for , we spent all of the time outside. A big bonus for us was the large American fridge that was available in th e outside area. The heard pool was a great hit with everyone

Beautiful property, stunning pool and outdoor kitchen

Lovely location in Loire valley with easy access to sites and vineyards. The pool and outdoor kitchen area are superb. We were 2 adults and 4 18/17 year olds. We spent every evening swimming, cooking and relaxing together. The house stayed really cool in the very hot spell we had,except the very top floor which needed a fan. The house is well equipped and the host gave us lots of recommendations and was always available.The bonus of a mummy cat and 4 kittens in the garden just added to the holiday! I would completely recommend a holiday here

Summer vacation with two families with teenagers

Fabulous! Full of character (some bits date from the 16th century) but with enough modern extras (wifi, outdoor pool, netflix, outdoor kitchen) to make our holiday extremely comfortable. The property has 2 excellent "master" bedrooms for the parents, plus 2 upstairs rooms to accommodate our four kids (they mainly shared one bedroom that had plenty of space for 4 single beds). The garden is spacious with lots of shady places for the more sun-adverse to relax in. the only problem was our holiday was over far too soon and it'll be another year before we can visit!

We had a fabulous stay at this property, great location, beautiful home & Pierre was a great host.

We stayed for a week in August, 2 couples & 3 young children. The property is well located for visits to Angers, local chateaus & Saumur & right on the Loire. Fabulous historic house, large rooms & lots of space. The converted barn, heated pool & oudoor bar/kitchen & seating area is really stunning & we spent most of our time here. Pierre is the perfect host, very thoughtful & accomodating providing a wonderful paddling pool & armbands for the children. We also enjoyed our breakfast with you on our first morning & thank you for your goodie bag. The property also comes with a great array of games which were enjoyed by all, particularly table tennis, boule and an array of good bikes in the garage. Thanks Pierre for a wonderful relaxing holiday.

A wonderful week in the Loire

We have just returned from a wonderful week in the Loire. We were there for a wedding and so we turned it into a holiday. We did some entertaining and the property worked perfectly. There is a large garden with a pool, table tennis table, pétanque balls and an outside kitchen. It is really very well equipped indeed. The house is in a small village with a boulangerie and a bar cafe. There is lots of space in the house and it is very well decorated with a very good combination of antiques and practical furniture. Pierre, thé host, was there to meet us at the agreed time and told us what we needed to know. In short, we had an excellent break and I feel that I can recommend this property without hesitation. A large family or a couple of families could have a really good holiday here.

Agréable séjour en bord de Loire

Une grande maison de famille où nous avons passé un très agréable séjour. Chambres confortables et spacieuses (mieux que sur les photos), sanitaires récents. La maison a énormément de charme et le jardin clos autour de la piscine est une vraie valeur ajoutée. Le village est très calme, bercé par le son des cloches de l'église voisine. Accueil chaleureux et sympathique de Pierre et Mariel. Nous recommandons les yeux fermés.

Amazing stay in the banks for the Loire

Beautiful property - well equipped and stylish. Perfect for our young kids as the pool is ideal for small children and the cover provides some additional safety. Outdoor kitchen was a great addition so the whole family can spend the day out by the pool! Thank you Pierre!

Luxe romantic house near the river Loire

We loved the old house and its garden. Pierre gave is a warm welcome and a drink. He renovated the house and its buildings to a high standard. It felt like living in a castle with the big bedrooms with very good beds! Entering the house through the gate you smell the jasmin growing. A lot of nice flowers surrounding the house and the pool. In the evening a stunning view when sitting next to the pool, seeing the old house and the church… The pool is big and heated. Very comfortable. The Boulanger was nearby, but we could enjoy it for 1 morning, because it closed for holiday. Instead, the bar Tabac also sold baguettes, it was only a 100 meters walk. We loved to walk along the Loire, we visited Angers, Saumur and the surroundings and we did a bicycle tour, as Pierre had enough bikes to use. Don’t doubt renting this house if you like the Loire and its castles, love old characteristic houses with all modern facilities! We hope to come again next year!

A wonderful old property with loads of character

From the time we 1st made our booking until our departure, Pierre the owner couldn’t have been more helpful. The house is well furnished and the beds were very comfortable with spotless bed linen. The swimming pool was used extensively by my daughter and granddaughters who loved it. The garden sun room and kitchen near the pool were a blessing and we made full use of them. Many thanks Pierre from us all for a wonderful 2 weeks holiday
