The Nest at Governor Bond Lake

We stayed at the Nest for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is secluded and quiet for a relaxing time at the lake. The house is well stocked with items you would need for a vacation as well as having ample outdoor activities on site available for use. The lake is very calm and, during our stay, was not very trafficked. Coach was prompt as the property manager with any questions or needs.

My friends and I were blown away by this property. Large space, plenty of bedrooms and beds. I went with a group of 12 adults & nobody needed to share a bed. The beach is well-maintained and secluded, lots of privacy. Plenty of activities indoor & outdoor, this is a great place for a family trip, or an adult-only trip. The host really thought of everything, well-stocked with disposable plates/utensils, even had a fan pointing at the main door to mininize bugs flying in. I highly recommend The Nest & seriously considering returning next year! Thank you for a great weekend!

Great Family Getaway

This is our second stay at the Nest. We love everything about it. House, Beach, Shade, Outdoor Play Area. The property managers are easy to reach and responsive. Highly recommend a stay here.

Great vacation

House extremely well stocked. We loved the lake and the beach. Our guys caught lots of fish and so did the kids. The decks are fantastic and we all wanted to be on the swinging beds. Great vacation had by all!

Family fun

We wanted a place that would accommodate a big group for a birthday celebration with family and this house was a great choice for us. The setting is beautiful, with lots of spaces to enjoy the scenery and each other's company. We all had a great time!

Perfect House for a Family Reunion

This property has it all for large family reunions. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen we have ever seen in a rental. There are games galore and plentiful seating. The rental agent was super accommodating and quick to respond. What a perfect setting for large groups!

Beautiful and spacious property

Property was beautiful and spacious. Property manager was very prompt to respond to our questions and very helpful. We stayed during winter holidays so we did not get to make use of the outdoor activities, but the whole family enjoyed our stay.

The Nest was a great house for us! Lots of gathering spaces, lots of shade on the house, and a great sunny beach. Many included items helped us all not to pack as much, packnplay's, highchair, crockpot, lots of towels, sand toys, just wonderful! A definite 5 star!

Family fun!

We had a fabulous time! This place was huge with so much seating and sleeping options. Tons of games and well stocked pantry. Would totally go here again. Water was perfect temperature and fire pit was used every night. Wi fi was spotty but other than that, it was perfect for our group.

Amazing house and beach!

We loved this house! It was perfect for a large group. There was something for everyone and the house was great. We have a large extended family with lots of kids. The kids LOVED it and the adults could relax or play as much as they wanted. Thank you for having us!

This is our fourth summer staying at The Nest. Obviously, we love coming back year after year. The house suits our large family very well, we love the little beach and the boat dock is really great. All our grandchildren can find something to do with the extra games and toys and books all around. This year the yard was the location for family photos! Thank you!!

Great home for relaxing and enjoying the water

This place was great for an out of way, relaxing vacation. They absolutely have EVERYTHING available that one could need. Outdoor grill, coffee makers, canoes you can use. There’s table tennis, life jackets. The small private beach is perfect for kids or adults to just relax and play in the water. Do note, that to get to the Walmart or other larger stores is like a 30 min drive and best to do it in the daytime, as most of the small roads that u will take are not lit.

Property was well maintained. The place can accommodate infants to adults.

Once we arrived there was something foot everyone. The property had choices an enjoyable beach, dock for pontoon, swings and hammock, fire pit, yard to play ball and hoop for basketball. We enjoyed it all. The kitchen accommodation was amazing for our group. The porches were roomy. I believe at least three balls went down into the tree slop perhaps into to lake. The toilet positions were interesting a couple of them wouldn’t allow the door to close when sitting.

Fun For All Ages!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Nest. We were celebrating my parent's 60th wedding anniversary and had 21 guests ranging from 9 months to 84 years old. There is an abundance of activities for all age ranges to enjoy. My 84 year old father even gave the tree swing a try! The weather was perfect for enjoying the beach and the younger kids loved all of the beach toys on hand. There seriously is no shortage of anything from kid-friendly toys to adult games. The house was clean and well appointed with an extremely well-stocked kitchen. We loved all of the outdoor seating areas and multiple decks. We had a blast and the host was incredibly accommodating, answering every question in an extremely timely manner. We would highly recommend this property!

We try to incorporate the best features of the homes we've stayed in around the world into our Vacation rentals. Multi access points, well stocked kitchens, baths and those little things you need when arriving. If you need something specific for your trip and its difficult to travel with, ask first, we may have it or add it. For instance, we have Pack n Plays, high chairs ,Dog bowls, beach towels... We greatly appreciate our hosts extra efforts to make our trips great and endeavor to do the same for our guests. Most of our RE is long-term rentals, but the 3 vacation rental have been welcome additions. Let us know what you really love about our spaces in addition to what we can do better.

The lake these homes are on is a city drinking water reservoir for several towns and 1,000's of people, please treat it accordingly:) As such the water level is not controlled. In the event of heavy rains for extended periods, the beach may become inundated for a day or so. We clean and rake the beach the day of your arrival and leave equipment for other events, like beach fires, castles, cleanup...

Rent a Pontoon for a sunset cruise. Drop anchor in a hidden cove and go for a quick swim. Some days you may have the entire lake to yourselves.
