Jońas was a wonderful host and the property was excellent for our stay in Reykjavik. The space was clean, well equipped, just perfect for our family of four, and the location was safe, quiet, and yet very central and convenient. We would stay here again and would recommend to anyone.

Great stay!

We had a great stay here in April. The place was clean, nicely furnished, and comfortable. Manager was very responsive and helpful. Wonderful location within walking distance of many sights, restaurants, and shops.

Nice 2 bedroom apartment

The beds we’re comfortable 5 min walk to bus terminal and 15 to minute walk to a lot of shops and restaurants and bars. Would stay here again when we go back.

Great property and location

Located in walking distance of city centre, this was an ideal location for us. The apartment itself had everything we needed for our 9 day stay and Jonas had great communication and made the process easy. Would highly recommend.

What an excellent place to stay

Perfect spot for 4 guests. Located just a few minutes walk to the center of town and easy access to the roadways. Quiet and clean. Recommend for anyone traveling to Iceland.

Great location

We greatly enjoyed the location. We had great access to the downtown and outlying areas. The place is small but worked well for us. It does have one bathroom (we were confused and thought it had two), but it was not a problem. Would seriously consider staying there again. Owner was easy to work with.

Excellent modern apartment in great location

A modern open plan apartment with good sized rooms. Well furnished with all the kitchen appliances that you need for a short break. Excellent location. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to families or couples looking for a central location.

Excellent place to stay in Reykjavik

Great communication, apartment is very nice and in a great location (with free street parking). Bathroom is amazing, beds are comfy; one is soft and one is firm, so you can find your preference. Kitchen is well set up and even has some condiments (salt, oil, sugar, etc) Perfect apartment for the three of us, highly recommended😀

Perfect location

Apartment was perfect for my family of four. Walking distance to downtown made enjoying the city easy and fun. And it served as a great home base for exploring other areas like the Golden Circle. Having access to laundry was really nice. The kitchen was well equipped. Great place in a great city!

Perfect Reykjavik apartment!

Nice Place to Stay

This apartment is in a great location in Reykjavik. It was easy to walk to different places in the city for sight seeing and restaurants. The neighborhood was pretty quiet. The apartment is small but we didn't need a big place as we were out a lot. The keyless entry was a really nice feature. A few of the listing photos could use an update but we were still happy with the apartment. Our only suggestion is that there needs to be room darkening blinds and new pillows for the beds as they were really flat. However, we'd definitely recommend this as a cozy place to stay.

Great apt, floor plan, & location. Nicely decorated. Weird bathroom opening at top let lots of light into front bedroom whenever someone turned light on in bathroom. Thin windows let all the noise in from traffic &pedestrians.

Lovely property in nice neighborhood

Our family of 3 enjoyed staying at this property! The property was very spacious, so much nicer than staying in a cramped hotel! We liked being able to cook some meals, but there were some restaurants within walking distance. Parking was easy and convenient. We had some issue with connecting to the wifi, the owner was very responsive and came over to check on the issue. We would stay here again!

Great location and very helpful host!

The location cannot be beat. Walking distance to city center, 8 minute walk to the big church, and grocery store. Did not even use my rental car unless we wanted to go see the waterfalls. Jonas the host was very kind and helpful and went above and beyond when we had questions about the next leg of our trip. Could not recommend this place and host more.

Nice Apartment Centrally Located

This was a great unit. It was perfect for our family of three. Right by a park with a lake and a short walk to the church area (Hallgrimskirkja) with numerous shops and restaurants. Especially enjoyed walking to Reykjavík Roasters and the cinnamon rolls at Braud & Co. Owner is very attentive and the unit has all the basics needed to enjoy the stay and do some cooking.

Welcome to Þingholtin, Reykjavík
FULLY LICENSED

This neighbourhood in central Reykjavík is a historic area. In the strictest sense, its name collectively refers to only a handful of streets around Þingholtsstræti, but nowadays, citizens refer to the whole neighbourhood south of Bankastræti as Þingholtin.

Colourful houses are a prominent feature, many of which were built around the turn of the 20th century and in the following decades. Many of Reykjavík’s most affluent citizens made the area their home and there’s history around every corner. Þingholtin draws its name from the farm Þingholt (literally, Parliament Hill), built in the late 18th century when Reykjavík was still just an ecclectic collection of semi-urban farmhouses.

As the neighbourhood is centrally located and close to many official government bodies, it has become a diplomatic centre and many embassies are based here.

When staying in this interesting area, all services are close by and the vibrant city life is but a few footsteps away.
No matter whether you’re in Iceland on business, here for a weekend mini-break or intend to explore more of the country, the Þingholt area is an ideal location.

The neighbourhood is immediately south of Iceland’s main shopping street, where you’ll find a wide range of boutiques, shops, art galleries restaurants, cafés and bars. The Harpa Concert and Conference Hall is within walking distance, where architecture, music and spectacular views go hand in hand.

Buses and coaches are within easy reach, so you can enjoy exploring both the city and the countryside from your base in Þingholtin.
