Para los caminantes entusiastas que hay mucho que hacer en y alrededor de West Lavant, una señal local favorito es siete puntos, que es un muy buen punto de observación desde el que hay unas vistas panorámicas, este se accede a Chalkpit Lane en la aldea Lavant sí o desde el nido . Una atracción obvia casi en la puerta es el Goodwood Estate, con dos campos de golf, y el Festival anual de velocidad, Glorious Goodwood carreras de caballos y el Goodwood Revival. Desde Chichester hay enlaces a lo largo de la costa en autobús y tren a Portsmouth y los históricos Dockyards y Brighton, mientras que se puede llegar a Londres a través de la estación de tren de Chichester.

great stay in beautiful countryside

This is the fourth time we've stayed at this house, and it's always a pleasure to come back. The location is great; you can get anywhere quickly. The house is well furnished and spacious. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.

Lovely renovated barn. Great kitchen and living area. Cosy with underfloor heating throughout and a log fire. Easy check in with keysafe and directions. Well situated 10 mins away from Chichester. Royal Oak pub 20 min walk away was perfect for a pint and with great food. Good walks locally, recommend the Trundle with fantastic views. Only minor gripe was not enough matching glassware and crockery- but certainly did not detract from a super break

Lovely Barn in Great Location

Lovely country retreat

A grea place to stay. The facilities are top notch and the location is lovely. Close enough to Chichester to get in easily but good for walks. The only improvement I can suggest is access to wifi as internet coverage was patchy.

Beautiful spacious holiday home

The Run is a beautiful spacious holiday cottage in a quiet rural location. Easy parking and nice little outside seating. We loved the layout of the cottage, very practical. The kitchen was very well equiped. Owner was very helpful. The cottage could perhaps do with a bit more decoration to make it feel more cozy. When it comes to cleanliness we don’t like finding leftovers from previous stays in cupboards and fridge. Compared to other cottages we stayed in in the past we feel like the cottage is overprized.

Excellent base for 30th wedding anniversary weekend

The Run (and The Old Root House where other family members were staying) made a perfect base for our 30th wedding anniversary weekend in Lavant. It's set in a beautiful countryside location with wonderful views. We enjoyed walking and running to and along the Centurion Way. The cottage itself is well designed to a high spec - it is spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. We would return. It would be even better if we were able to take our dog but we understand that it's a working farm.

We had a relaxing few days here - easy access to the South Downs (can walk from the door) and the coast. Lovely barn conversion done to a high standard.

A memorable four-night stay

Our only negative comment relates to crockery and cutlery: a mismatched assortment of tumblers and wine glasses; the variable condition of the crockery; a shortage of teaspoons and kitchen knives; the only teapot and jug were very big.

A week away

This is the second time we have stayed at the Run and 3 years on from our first stay the property and location still have the same wow factor. The property was very clean and all we could need was available in the property. Beds were very comfy and the house was lively and warm. Will certainly recommend.

Lovely place for a stay in the area

The house has been very sensitively converted from an old farm building, with nice exposed beams giving it a classic look. The interior is well-laid out, and very comfortable. The wood-burning stove was very welcome in the winter, when we were there. The owners were friendly, responsive and very helpful. The location, just outside Chichester, is ideal for anyone wanting to enjoy the countryside with easy access to shops. I would stay here again.

A perfect place to relax

We had a wonderful time in this house. There are no stairs to climb and an excellent kitchen. It is a peaceful place for comming down and relax in the garden. The property was very clean and perfect prepared with all necessary things you need.

Perfect Location - Excellent Value

The location of The Run is perfect. It's quiet but easy driving access to Chichester, Goodwood and the surrounding areas. You can walk to a good pub or two and there's loads of longer walks to choose from as you are so close to the Centurion Way. The property is in a small steading of other (maybe 4 or 5) similar properties which are all very neat and well kept. Bedrooms are a good size, plenty of storage and comfy beds. Bathrooms modern with good showers. Good appliances in the kitchen which is well equipped too. Lounge is spacious. If you want a big TV this could be the only downside, as the TV is quite small compared to what I guess most people have at home. But we didn't watch any TV so no worries there. We were two couples that stayed and we have rebooked for next year.

A peaceful and convenient stay location

The cottage was a very conveniently located stay and provided the space for us, a family with 2 children. The space was large enough for us all with a decent sized kitchen space and comfortable bedrooms. The parking is plentiful and finding the place easy. entrance was also straight forward. The house was well equipped in the most part and there was plenty of items to help with meal prep etc. although we did feel a few extra kitchen items would have been useful to aid the stay, in particular and extra oven shelf as there is only one, we felt like there was one missing, and also there were no dishwasher tablets which was disappointing. The bedrooms were comfortable and having two separate bathrooms also beneficial with plenty of hot water. The sitting room was spacious and it was nice having the ease of access to the garden. The TV while not really for us but for the kids was an older design and would benefit from being upgraded. The location is great with easy access into Chichester and then into the South Downs. We enjoyed the stay and would recommend it.

Could have been 5star

Quiet location in a well appointed spacious countryside cottage. It’s a great location for easy access to Chichester and other coastal towns. Unfortunately on check in we found a number of areas and items that had not been well cleaned. In addition there were stains/marks on a number of the walls and the furniture covers were in dire need of a wash or dry clean. The dish washer was not working but the issue was resolved promptly by the landlord who was always available to assist in resolving issues.

Cleanliness not up to expectation.

Only scored 3 for cleanliness because the lounge suite covers are very grubby and smelly. Although the beds are extremely comfortable the duvets and pillows needed laundering as they had an odour about them. This was our second visit to The Run this year and we thought the above had deteriorated since then. We have said "No" to "Would you recommend this property to others" due to the comments above. Also, a basic welcome pack would be appreciated in such a rural setting, other self-catering properties we have used in recent years all seem to provide one.

All linen is professionally laundered before every visit so we will raise with this housekeeping immediately. If we had been notified during your rental we would have changed anything you weren't happy with right away. We have asked housekeeping to take a look at the living room furniture and provide extra cleaning and asked them to advise if there is anything they can't fix.

The Barn

Fantastic but it would have helped to have an instruction sheet on how to use the washer/dryer, how to do the TV channels, where or what the wifi password is and a little more info on places to go and explore. We couldn't find any ice block trays either. We decided to go to the office in Chichester to find out these things but found out from the sales office that the holiday rental office was not even in Chichester so a lovely lady in sales tried to help by calling but got no response from the holiday rental office, she even rang emergency number with no response, finally after an hour someone called back, this woman was not even working but came to the barn to try and help us and it wasn't easy for her either but she finally got it so thanks to those two wonderfull ladies.

Excellent

They say you can't have it all but arguably at The Run, you can. Located in a quiet rural idyll but within easy reach of Chichester either by car, bike or on foot the property is spacious and well equipped with everything you could need in a home from home. You also have the coast and local attractions like Goodwood and the Weald & Downland museum nearby. We stayed here for weeks and didn't want to leave. Walking up the trundle/St Roche's Hill is a must (you can always drive to the car park if you don't fancy the walk) as you get an amazing panorama (from the trig point especially) stretching for miles. The trundle even features a mobile coffee van at the top (excellent brownies) and the wonderful Royal Oak pub near the bottom. The landlords are nearby and were friendly, helpful and welcoming, we couldn't have asked for more. For anyone planning a working holiday I found the internet to be fast enough for my needs in that regard at around 23mbps download speed. We can't recommend this property highly enough and Henry Adams were always very helpful when we had a question.

A wonderful holiday getaway!

A wonderful quiet, peaceful location for relaxing. Accommodation was excellent with well stocked kitchen for self-catering. Location was ideal for exploring the South Downs area, Chichester and the coast. Plenty of things to see and do. Great for walking, biking, beach and general sightseeing. Will definitely visit again.
