St Philbert de Grand-Lieu is a town of 9,000 inhabitants in the southern suburbs of Nantes, in the countryside with access in 20 minutes by fast track to the Atlantic coast. Lake Grandlieu bird sanctuary is a few kilometers and is interesting for its hiking trails.
A must see, the Carolingian abbey of the 9th century.
The paths around St Philbert are very pleasant with a small nautical base and its beach on a large lake 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
