Gîte "La Vague" totally renovated, can accommodate up to 10 people, spacious, you will find all the comfort for a pleasant stay.
Located on the seafront, close to all shops, restaurants, bars.

Beautiful 1920s Townhouse on the seafront will be completely renovated, photos will be published soon.

The pretty town of Grandcamp-Maisy has its fishing port so you can buy all the fish, shellfish and crustaceans that will make you happy!

During the high season, every week the local market, night market and local market.

"La Vague" is surrounded by many tourist sites such as the beautiful D-Day Beaches, Pointe du Hoc, the American Cemeteries, Mont Saint-Michel and many others.

Perfect spot from which to explore Normandy

Great property, located on the sea front of beautiful Grandcamp-Maisy with restaurant, bars and shops all within walking distance. The house is spacious, clean and well appointed with a sea facing terrace to watch the world go by! This location is perfect to explore the rich history of Normandy on day trips - the D-day landing beaches, many museums and Bayeux tapestry!

Base from which to see the D Day landing beaches

Only a 4 day stay but very enjoyable. A surprisingly spacious home on the edge of the beach. Very well equipped and convenient. Brasserie right outside the front door was very good- fresh fish and superbly cooked. Didn't spend much time in Grandcamp Maisy as we focussed on the surrounding monuments and museums all very easily reached from the house .

Beautiful ocean views and amazing sunsets!!

We stayed with our daughter, her husband and our 3 grandchildren (16,13,10). The owner, Maxime, was helpful and very kind immediately answering all our questions. There are stairs going up to the bedrooms. The location is close to all the historical D-Day locations, Mont St Michel and many picturesque little towns in Normandie. I recommend this house for your family.

Thank you very much. The location and the house were perfect! We loved it and would love to go back again. Nicely presented rooms, clean, tidy and close to everywhere. Thank you One tiny suggestion - please may I suggest that the shower heads be hung on the wall? Otherwise perfect!

D Day beaches visit

The location is very good only a road between the property and the sea. There is a patio on which we sat looking at the sea for meals and drinks. Accommodation was good comfy beds kitchen well equipped. There are bars and restaurants close by. The supermarket is a 15 minute walk. The information mentioned a key safe which we never found but it was not a problem as the door was left unlocked for our arrival We enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

Normandy Beaches

We had a wonderful visit in La Vague. Host was very responsive and check in was easy. The house was as advertised and the pictures don’t do it justice. Everything is top of the line. Like other reviews a shower head mounted to the wall would be nice. As far as the town goes businesses were closed on Sunday and Monday or shut down for the season, just something to be aware of if traveling in the off season. The location was perfect for touring the American D day beaches and a reasonable drive to Mont St Michel

Cute seaside apartment

Lovely location with a beautiful view of the water. Was easy to walk to restaurants & the bakery down the street. Perfect location for visits to Omaha & Utah beaches. All communication was in French. Had difficulty figuring out the appliances as an American. Had we wanted to do more than use the washer, it would have been hard. Pack light, you will need to carry suitcases up flights of stairs.

June 2023 Family holiday

Beautiful home, fabulous location! Perfect view of the beach from multiple windows and 1 minute walk out back patio door to the beach/water itself. We enjoyed evenings on the back patio listening to the surf and watching the sun set. Home was centrally located to all D-day sites we had interest in seeing. Well stocked with cookware and modern appliances. Sunday & Monday almost all stores/restaurants were closed. A delicious cafe in front of the home opened on Sunday night where we had one of the best dinners of our vacation.Tuesday there was a wonderful fish market and street market so we were able to shop for snacks and dinner items before we headed off to Dday memorials. We left early Wednesday morning so it was a short stay, wished we had stayed all week! Lovely town, great home, enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return!

An absolutely beautiful home on a beautiful beach. The house had ample supplies of kitchen necessities and bathroom supplies (except for paper towels). Delicious and strong coffee was provided. Down the street was a great playground and in the outdoor storage were sand toys. The location cannot be beat; with a great bakery next door, restaurants all around, quick access to Point Du Hoc, and a good grocery store all your needs are met. The cleaning fee was a little steep at €90 with a request that you collect the laundry and put the garabage out. I would also caution that parking is street parking. So, if you are visiting during peak time you may have a hard time finding a spot. But we had a wonderdul stay and highly recommend staying at 1 Rue de Martine.

Great location right on the coast.Maud and Maxime were excellent hosts. We exchanged multiple messages prior to our arrival in which they answered questions and provided helpful information. Although they speak only French – and our French doesn’t go much past Bonjour – we easily used Google Translate to communicate.The cottage is very nice and well-appointed, true to the photographs. Looking out onto the water with a sea breeze in your face is wonderful. Note: At 69 and a few weeks shy of 72, we had no problem with the spiral stairs. But these could be an issue for a person with limited mobility.Grandcamp-Maisy is a nice town. Bakery for your morning croissants a short walk. We had excellent meals at La Marine, Restaurant de la Marée, and L’Aristide. The Le déBARcadére bistro next door draws a quiet crowd and closes at 9pm. Never an issue with noise. Fun place to walk around the harbor and visit the shops. No problem parking our rental car in some spaces on the quay about 50 meters from the front door.Also a good, central location to explore the D-Day sights, Bayeux, and other areas of Normandy. Don’t miss Maisy Battery on the edge of town where you can actually walk through the German trenches / blockhouses and a couple of 155mm howitzers are still mounted on their emplacements.We would definitely stay here again.

Un logement bien équipé

Nous avons passé 6 jours à Grandcamp-Maisy. Le logement est bien situé pour les visites et bien équipé. Il serait juste appréciable de rajouter des voilages au rez-de-chaussée car la situation de la maison, rend l’intimité compliquée puisque la maison fait l’angle d’une rue et donne sur la route juste devant la plage ce qui est agréable mais suppose également énormément de passages. Pour le reste notre séjour a été agréable. Les salles de bain sont modernes et bien aménagées : les seuls ajouts qui seraient un grand plus, sont un support pour le pommeau de douche et pour les produits d’hygiène. En résumé, un logement sympa malgré ces détails😊.

Parfait!

Magnifique maison, bien équipée, propreté irréprochable, et emplacement vraiment parfait! Couchers de soleil de la fenêtre de la chambre, le bruit des vagues pour dormir, à deux pas des restos et commerces, boulangerie, etc. Et la vue est vraiment incroyable! Merci pour tout!

Excellent property, can't wait to visit again.

We stayed at the property for a couple of nights while exploring the D-day beaches. The view form the bedroom and patio was beautiful. More than enough space for our family of five. Can't fault anything and will definitely try and stay there again if we could. Communication with the hosts were good. The town and accommodation made it an excellent stay.

Perfect location!

We were a party of 5 - two adults and three older teenagers - and this property worked great for us. The teens could have one floor with their own bathroom and we could have our own. The views from our room over the beach to the sea was wonderful and we caught some lovely sunrises on the few mornings we were awake early enough to catch it. The property is perfectly located close to delicious bakeries, restaurants, (quiet) bars, and convenient car parking. The ground floor is overlooked by the street but it is a fairly quiet area so the few people who walked past did not bother us, and we could always have used the electric shutters if it became a problem. This was our base for exploring the area and we enjoyed picking up fresh baguettes for sandwiches and cakes (for stamina!) from shops only a short walk away. The markets on some of the mornings were great to browse and I wish we had been there when the night markets started so we could catch one of those. Next time!

Fabulous location in Normandy

We really enjoyed our time in Grandcamp-Maisy. The apartment is perfectly situated in the village and looking right out at the beach. The owners are friendly, helpful and respond immediately to any communication. Right next to restaurants and easy access to all of the WWII sites. Highly recommended!
