When the opportunity of owning this beautiful Lake Leelanau property came up, our dreams came true! We felt it was the perfect property to share with other families and friends so they could experience a true Up North vacation home. I am originally from Charleston, IL, home of Eastern Illinois University and where Abraham Lincoln once practiced law. My past experiences as Charleston's Tourism Director and Event Planner, apartment owner, social worker, Chamber of Commerce Diplomat and community volunteer all stem from my creative and caring personality. I have been described as pure sunshine and a natural-born hostess. Terry, originally from downstate Michigan, is an entrepreneur and currently the President and CEO of the nonprofit Conscious Clarity Center, Inc., which teaches Spiritual Transformative Education in the Traverse City area. He’s a published author and advocate for meditative awareness and peace. His love is always family first, closely followed by water sports or boating, the automotive industry and classic muscle cars and outdoor nature activities. He's always tinkering with projects that will get him out into the peace of nature. His professional background includes careers in automotive engineering, spiritual internet marketing, the boating and the health & fitness industries and environmental air quality assurance. Terry, our daughter Sage and I live each day in the energy of Love, Peace and Gratitude. We look forward to hosting you!
Why Karen and Terry Swejkoski chose Lake Leelanau
We fell in love with the beautiful blue lakes, fresh air and positive energy of the Traverse City and Leelanau Peninsula area decades ago. The whole area features a charming small town feel while still having plenty of restaurants, shopping, attractions and social scene for all to enjoy. When we first walked this 12 acre property, we both instantly had a deep knowing that this was the location to provide quiet and relaxing retreats for families and friends or as we like to say, "Up North – Where your Soul can wander!"
What makes this House unique
This property is not just a house to rent, it is a place to make memories! It is a secluded, vacation home away from home where people can gather to relax from their regular pace of life and reconnect with loved ones. Our clean and stylish house features large entertaining areas, both inside and outside, including tv and game rooms, large outdoor deck, fire pit and plenty of seating for your groups get-togethers at multiple dining tables. We stocked this house with well-thought out amenities and supplies that appeal to our guests of all ages. Perfect for families to have fun and explore, your kids will beg you to stay at our place again. Surrounded by private, wooded acreage and artesian fed ponds, you all will leave feeling like you true escaped Up North!
