Cottage + private pool on Lazio/Umbria border, WiFi, huge garden, stunning views

Casaletto Grillini (50m2) is situated in north-east Lazio on the border with Umbria and about an hour north of Rome. It is located near the village of Tarano, which is in the beautiful unspoilt region of la Sabina. The house is located in a very rural, open setting and is surrounded by acres of olive groves and enjoying superb uninterrupted views over hills of vineyards and olive-trees, medieval hill towns and ancient forests. It is an oasis of peace and tranquillity.

The house has free WiFi Internet, satellite television and central heating.

You can find most of the things you need in Tarano which is only 1 km away - food shops, chemist, butcher's, bar with "tavola calda" home-cooked food to take away. Two local family-run restaurants, one famous for its grilled meats is only a 500 metre walk away.

In Poggio Mirteto (5 km away) there is a train station with direct trains to Rome and the airport.

The private pool is 10 x 5m and is surrounded by terraces, ideal for relaxing and from where you can enjoy the beautiful views over the Aia river valley.

It has a large well-kept and fully-fenced garden of one hectare with many different trees - tall oaks, pines, poplar and cypresses. There are also fruit trees and a vegetable garden of some 100 m2. The guests are welcome to help themselves to whatever produce is in season - fruits, lettuces, tomatoes, herbs, peppers, courgettes, melons.

There are also two large gazebos with table and chairs and an outdoor cooking area with barbecue and wood-oven (for cooking pizzas and bread) as well as a second kitchen in the garden with sink and 'fridge for all your alfresco meals. At the front of the house there is a veranda with table and chairs.

Many country walks, horse-riding and tennis nearby.

There are good restaurants, supermarkets, shops and markets selling local produce in the nearby small hilltop towns of Tarano, Roccantica, Poggio Catino and Cantalupo.

It is a cosy and charming house and all the rooms are on the ground floor. The living room has a log-fireplace, double sofa bed, dining area and kitchen (with dishwasher). It has a double bedroom and bathroom with shower (no washing machine).

Bedlinen and towels are changed weekly. The pool is also cleaned every week.

There is also an outdoor table-tennis table and football pitch (17 x 35 metres).

Pets are welcome.

With good motorway connections, Rome, Florence, Naples, Siena, Perugia and Orvieto are easily accessible.
