The Location
Perfectly poised within the living tapestry of Rhodes' UNESCO-protected Medieval City, Casa de la Flora offers a privileged paradox: profound serenity amidst profound history. While merely 150 meters from the historic Synagogue, a mere 30 from a Hotel, and 40 from the ancient town moat and the evocative Melina Mercouri Gate leading to the commercial harbour, the house itself is a sanctuary of astonishing quietude—a verdant oasis insulated from the vibrant hum beyond its walls.

This location is not merely central; it is central to a unique historical narrative. The Old Town of Rhodes stands as Europe's oldest inhabited medieval town, a World Heritage Monument where history is layered in stone. As you wander the labyrinth of cobbled streets, you embark a silent journey through epochs. The architectural legacy unfolds like a visual chronicle: from the foundations of Ancient Greek and Hellenistic builders, through Roman, Byzantine, and Venetian influences, to the formidable imprint of the Knights of St. John and the intricate motifs left by the Ottomans.

This extraordinary confluence of civilizations transforms the Old Town into a living museum, an open-air gallery of cultural dialogue. For the discerning guest, it presents an endless invitation to explore—to discover the multifaceted soul of Rhodes, where every corner reveals a different chapter in its timeless story, all beginning from the peaceful haven of your own historic doorstep.

Historic home inside the old city walls. Easy to walk to all the sights. Home is updated but still retains its historic character. Claudia, the owner, let us in and was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and beaches. She set up the transport to and from the Rhodes airport which made things so easy.
