This wonderful cottage (W-66) is located at Hawks Nest Beach, a family resort in Old Lyme Connecticut. The modern kitchen, dining, down stairs bath and flooring were all upgraded 4 years ago. In 2014 downstairs electric baseboard heat and a mounted TV in the living room will be added.
The large waterfront porch is a great place for morning coffee and meals at the picnic table with the waves rolling in. You can see incredible sun rises and sunsets reflecting off the water from your cottage.
Wetlands across the street from the cottage are home to Ospreys, that you will see swooping in the water catching fish. The rock jetties in front are fun for crabbing and seeing the marine life. Activities for kids include swimming, kayaking, tennis, & boating. On site weekly scheduled events such as sand castle contests, scavenger hunts, talent show, art projects and movies on the beach are a tradition with the Hawks Nest Beach events staff. A little general store just a short walk down the road has fresh coffee, homemade donuts, last minute groceries and gifts. The cottage is available May to October, with weekly rentals only in the peak summer season. Some off season shorter stays may be arranged, based on availability.

Excellent cottage rental for the whole family! We get together with siblings and Grandparents at Hawk's Nest every other summer and have always had the best time! They are cottages on the ocean, so you expect sand and rust and an occasional torn screen, it is what laid back beach living is all about! Excellent, responsive hosts who have never let us down. Christmas day, 2012 and the topic of conversation was once again, memories of Hawk's Nest, that is why I visited this page.
Exceptional beach and the cottages were right on it. Fell asleep to the sound of the ocean every night. Cottages we were in had granite counter tops in the kitchens, but everything else was pretty worn. Loose plumbing at the kitchen sink. Dirty first floor bath and the doorknob kept coming off. Roof leaked onto bed one night. Torn screens. Area of one living room smelled like an animal had been there. Lots of rusted hardware everywhere. Some lamps didn't work. Staff were very responsive, but most of these things were obvious fixes, unless you're not looking closely. I can only conclude that location trumps accomadations in this case, i.e., the owners don't have to care cause it's a great spot.
