We had an amazing stay! The property was absolutely beautiful and the location couldn’t have been better. The property is right next to the ski mountain at Crystal Mountain. Al, our host, went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. He even took the time to clear the road so we could safely drive in during the snow, which we truly appreciated. He provided excellent recommendations for places to eat and was incredibly responsive, friendly, and welcoming throughout our stay. Al is hands down the best host I’ve ever had. I would absolutely recommend this place and would love to stay here again

Perfect Stay for a Weekend Trip North

Thank you to Alfred for a lovely stay at his cabin! It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, had a beautiful tree we admired behind our cabin, and was a perfect spot to come home to after our weekend’s festivities.

Convenient location to explore the area

Albert was an excellent host. His cabin is within close proximity to everything you could want to do in the area. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Great little place off the beaten path

The little cabin was wonderful! It was a great change from the busyness of Crystal Mountain for my conference. Alfred was a very inviting and welcoming host!

This place was amazing- exceeded all expectations

Alfred was a great host and was there to meet us on arrival. He made the place so homey and comfy for our trip to sleeping bear dunes! we stopped at the 231 Bar down the road for some live music and could not reccomend this place more!

Clean and cute

Cute camping cabin that was immaculately clean. Great getaway for a couple. Quick drive to many activities and restaurants. Owner had great advice on where to eat.

Thompsonville vacation

We were in a perfect spot for a northwest Michigan outdoor vacation. Access to many lakes, hikes and bike trails. And a peaceful place to come back to every evening after our outdoor play.

Wonderful Stay Up North

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time staying in this cabin. We were close to everything the area has to offer and it was wonderful to come back to a comfortable place to stay after a long day at the beach. Al is a wonderful host who was incredibly friendly and made sure that we had everything that we could need during our stay. I would highly recommend anyone visiting the area to stay here as it helped make the trip more enjoyable.

Great little cabin

This little cabin was great! The property is so cute and the cabin itself was great! It's in the smaller side but my husband and I loved it. Alfred was so kind and checked in on us. There were multiple fire pits and hammocks plenty of outdoor seating. We will definitely stay with him again if we ever go back!

Betsie River Cabin

This was exactly as advertised. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our weekend. The host(Alfred) is so kind and full of helpful tips about things to do and places to eat in the area. We so much enjoyed our stay and plan to stay here again later this fall.

“Grandpa Al” was the perfect host

Al was so helpful and hospitable. He gave us great ideas and tips for places to go and was flexible. The cabin was spotless and bathroom clean enough to eat off the floor. The bed was more comfortable than my bed at home!

Fall Traverse City Visit

This location was prime, great price and easy drive to all the fall attractions. 1 mile from Crystal Mountain, 30 miles to Traverse city, 15 miles to Frankfort. Exceptionally clean and great hospitality. Located on a beautiful piece of land with 2 other cabins. Would recommend to anyone making a inexpensive trip up north

Perfect

Cabin was located perfectly for me to get to and from Crystal Mountain. It’s about 10-15 minutes from Benzonia for shopping and Crystal lake. Alfred was super easy to get into contact with and was very kind and friendly. Cabin was neat and perfect for two people. I would absolutely stay again.

Wonderful experience

Alfred was a wonderful host who went above and beyond to take care of us. For example my boyfriend forgot his phone charger, we texted Al and within 10 minutes he knocked on the door to give us one for the weekend. Accomodations were clean and comfy. Thompsonville MI is gorgeous, we kayaked the Betsie River and will be back to do it again!

Great host- nice property

Alfred was great. He upgraded my partner and to a camper because he had the availability, and it had more amenities. We checked out the cabin and it was super clean and cute. So any of his rentals are a great choice. We never stayed in a camper so it was definitely a memorable experience. Sleeping bear dunes are wonderful! Alfred was kind and attentive.

Wonderful Experience

My partner and I stayed here for about 5 days and it was just beautiful, the cabin was quaint and cozy and just being outside in nature was beautiful and relaxing! When staying at this property be prepared with your own kitchen utensils (spatula, tongs, pots, etc.) and seasonings. Alfred was absolutely wonderful and made the experience that much better, he is such a kind and caring person. He is willing to help you with any questions you might have about the area or the property as well. This is definitely somewhere my partner and I would be happy to come back too!

Small but perfect

Enjoyed a quiet relaxing weekend away. A small cabin with a bathroom. Close enough to touristy things but nice to come back to, to just relax in the common patio area a few steps away and enjoy the quiet. Al was nice to chat with and gives really good directions to find places. We would definitely stay here again.

clean, quiet , and cozy

I was traveling by myself to pick up my son from Interlochen Arts Academy and was looking for an inexpensive place to stay for 4 nights. I found Alfred's cabin online and figured even though it was minimal, it appeared very clean, and the price was right. Communication with Alfred was very prompt and warm. When I arrived after driving for 8 hours, he greeted me and gave me a little tour of the cabin. It is little, but oh so sweet! It has the fresh scent of wood on the inside, was impeccably clean, and was, quite frankly, I realized it was going to be the perfect little get away. Alfred was very attentive without being pushy. There is enough heat on a cold night and a ceiling fan for warmer nights. To be clear, it's rustic and there's no internet, but it's a bit like glamping. Truly a lovely little place!

If you want a busy campground where you step out and see the back of another unit and there are 200 sites, this is not for you as I only have 6 Sites and each looks out on to the main yard with flowers and bird feeders and I keep adding to that I have corn hole, ladder ball and a frisbee cage to practice your throws, your own private fire pit
