About Linda Escobar

My family and I live in large city in Florida in which there are no mountains whatsoever. We love to go up to North Carolina whenever we have a chance, it is such a beautiful place. The mountains are away from the chaos of highways and trains and is very relaxing. When we go to North Carolina, we experience a peaceful environment like none other.

Linda Escobar purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Linda Escobar chose Smoky Mountains

We chose this location to buy our vacation rental because the mountains are so beautiful and the view is spectacular. There are also many attractions near the house such as mountain biking, white-water rafting, horseback riding, and more. The town is not too far away which is helpful when you need to grab some groceries or go out to dinner at a nice restaurant. People are very nice and helpful and nobody is ever in a rush.

What makes this cabin unique

There are many benefits while staying at our vacation rental. The silence and privacy are great and the colors around you on the trees and flowers will blow you away. At night, you will be able to see the stars like never before and in the morning you will be awakened by the noise of woodpeckers pecking away. For those sporty types, everything is near. The Nantahala Outdoor Center is practically down the road. There are also beautiful waterfalls to enjoy as well.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My wife and I stayed in this cabin during a trip to Nantahala Outdoor Center for kayaking lessons. The cabin is really great. It has all the comforts of home, a small but well equipped kitchen, comfortable great room, comfortable beds, and a really nice game room. The cabin was immaculate with plenty of clean towels and linens. Linda was a wonderful hostess, calling on us to make sure we had everything we needed. One word of caution, the drive up is a little unnerving but if you take your time, no issue. However, we were there when the weather was dry and the roads were in ok shape. It could be a problem during inclement weather. That said, I would definitely stay at Carolina Dreamin again. Thanks Linda!

Peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

I recommend this cabin for a peaceful getaway. Cabin is clean with a nice size TV to watch movies, hot tub and pool table. Mountain biked daily at Tsali which was only a 15 minute drive. The NOC was only 10 minutes or less from the cabin were we ate breakfast daily. Bryson city is only a 15 minute drive from the NOC where you can stop at the brewery, dine at a few restaurants, or take a train ride through the mountains. You can also pick up the Appalachian trail on either side of the river at the NOC. The owner; Linda was kind and available for questions. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent both in value and accommodations. High quality appliances and furniture, nice amenities including hot tub and pool table, beautiful lot. A very good value. Especially loved the balcony.

Hosts are really nice and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay.

Easily one of the best choices we have made using internet sites for vacation sites. You won't be disappointed.

beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this beautiful home for a week for a romantic, get away. It was in perfect location for areas we love to travel. Everything was as listed and the owner was such pleasure to work with on booking and any questions we may had. The house is fully loaded and has everything you need to relax and have fun; without leaving the home. We did not want to leave at the end of our trip and will definitely be renting this lovely home again. A recommend for anyone wanting to get away; or anyone wanting to be near the whitewater rafting etc scene.

A wonderful escape!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were in search of a secluded area that allowed to us rekindle after his 7 month deployment. This was the perfect place! The cabin was very cozy, and the decor added an extra touch that really made us feel like we had officially escaped the chaos of our hometown. Moreover, this was one of the cleanest cabins we have ever rented, and the kitchen was stocked to a T with cookware, plates, silverware, glasses etc. The pool table and foosball table were in outstanding condition! Our favorite parts of the cabin were the back deck and the hot tub. We spent every morning drinking coffee listening to the birds chirp, and every evening soaking in the hot tub listening to the frog calls. The drive up the mountain was not bad. There really weren't any steep areas our vehicle couldn't make it up. We loved the area! It is quite small, but so much to do! NOC was right down the road, so we signed up for white water rafting with "Polar Bear" and a day of kayaking instruction with Will. We had a blast at NOC! They also have a great restaurant with an outstanding view of the river. My husband got a few drives in on the range at the Sequoyah National Golf golf club. The views of the mountains there were incredible! We also took a stroll through Deep Creek park and viewed the waterfalls there. We tried to hike to the fire tower from Tellico Gap, but by the time we drove to the top of the mountain the afternoon showers/storms were starting to roll in. We didn't know then, but later found out they they tend to blow by quickly. We also spent some time walking around Bryson City and ate at a few restaurants there. We stopped at a coffee shop and were taken back by the southern hospitality! An employee went out of his way to give us maps and tour guide pamphlets and told us the best spots to go while in the area. We definitely plan on returning, especially since there is so much more to do! So much, that a week's stay can't tackle it all. The only thing I would add about the cabin itself, is that it would be great to have internet. I understand the whole "unplug" thing, which was nice after adjusting, but we found it difficult to learn about the area and things to do or how to get there - internet would have been so very helpful. They have internet at NOC, but it seemed a pain to go there just for that, and their internet strength was not that strong, so it took quite some time to load the information we were looking for.

Relaxing vacation, great cabin!

  • 4 of 5

I took my family the the mountains for a relaxing vacation and it is exactly what we got. The prestige cabin is secluded in the mountains but close to the NOC center. The cabin had everything we needed, the kitchen was fully stocked (all you need to provide is paper goods) and the kids loved the playroom. I loved that we did not have WIFI, it allowed us to really disconnect. The cabin has great forest views however the mountain views are limited. I would highly recommend this cabin for a vacation rental, I will definitely be back.
