About this property

Upper Timberline Family Retreat

1700 sq ft custom craftsman cabin with easy access to all local amenities. Great for families and small groups.

Our cabin is nestled in the trees between the town of Packwood and White Pass Ski Resort.

Enjoy 3 covered decks, two upper and one lower, and a covered front porch

There are electric heaters throughout the cabin, but if you prefer there is also plenty of wood within arms reach in an under stair storage closet to stock the woodstove and keep things really toasty.

A large game room upstairs has a ping pong/pool table, and large screen TV.

The cabin has an wonderful cedar interior with spalted maple cabinets and live edge counters

The soaring ceilings, exposed beams, and large windows looking out toward Mt. Rainier National Forest, all help you to relax and enjoy the natural beauty around you.

Wherever you stay, we hope you enjoy your Packwood area getaway.

Please note: we allow pets but require a pet fee for my cleaning help and rental insurance. Also parties larger than 5 will be charged an additional fee for our cleaning help due to our meticulous cleaning practices. Thank you for your understanding.

Check-out instructions

The host requires you complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights, lock the doors, and return the keys
Soiled towels can be left in the tub or provided laundry hampers, please be careful not to put items in front of the wall heaters. They are on thermostats, and could turn on unexpectedly. Thank you
Please close all windows and doors. Turn down thermostats, and power off A/C unit if used.
Notify us of any items that need to be restocked or repaired. Thank you
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Pet rules: No pets on the furniture. No leaving pet unattended. Require insurance and pet fee.
Do NOT: Smoke, vape or burn incense. It will not be tolerated and additional fees will be incurred to compensate future guests and cleaning help.
At departure you agree to: Secure all outside leading doors and windows, start load of towels, wash dishes, remove all used bedding.

This house is great! We went skiing at White Pass while we stayed here. It's close to the grocery store in Packwood and about 25 minutes to White Pass. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal. The woodstove makes the house warm and cozy. It's homey with maps on the walls and great decorations. The host is great and easy to reach. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

The place is really great! It’s clean. It’s updated. It’s rustic in all the right ways. Most of all the host/owner is amazing!! We were here over Christmas and the whole place was nicely decorated both inside and out. We really enjoyed it!

Great place to stay while visiting Mount Rainier

We loved our stay! For us it was a retreat after big hikes in a beautiful park we loved coming back to this great place that had everything and was so comfortable! We even saw an elk out back while sitting on the deck! It is conveniently close to town for great food too! Thanks for the great stay!

Absolutely perfect! The cabin is gorgeous and well appointed with everything we needed. The owner shows a lot of attention to detail for a comfortable stay. The kitchen has modern appliances, bathrooms are updated, and the decor and hardwood floors and paneling are lovely. The location is perfect for access to both the Paradise and Sunrise sections of Mount Rainier NP. Sadly, we couldn't visit the Sunrise section because of a wildfire that closed it but we were able to easily access the Naches Peak trail that skirts the northeastern section of the park and it was a treat. The cabin would also be a great spot for anyone who wants to ski at White Pass or Crystal Mountain.Cherie, the owner was absolutely fantastic with communication. We almost cancelled our trip due to the wildfires and smoke that were affecting WA state. Cherie was so helpful and patient with all my questions regarding possible road closures and conditions. She got back to me very quickly and gave good insight into conditions in the area as well as answering questions about the cabin. So glad we didn't cancel! I could add so much more; we were so very pleased with everything.I highly recommend this property to anyone considering a visit to the area.

Cozy vacation cabin close to park entrances

My family loved this cabin. It is beautifully decorated and well stocked. The location was close to the park entrances. Checkin was very easy. Cherie sent me very specific directions on checkin and the details of the house.

This place was an amazing find! Spacious, cozy, extremely well-appointed and nestled in the trees with easy access to hiking, swimming, and a market and restaurants in Packwood. And the ping pong table was a fun evening activity for the family! We look forward to coming again.

Relaxing Mountain View Cabin

We enjoyed this beautiful cabin located in a peaceful mountain setting. The place was spotless, well-stocked with all the amenities we needed for our stay. We especially enjoyed the cool mountain breeze and views sitting on the back deck. Mount Rainier Park entrance was just a few miles away which was a big highlight of our stay as well.We hope to revisit this awesome place again!!
