Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Unbelievable experience. Elias Esther Adrianne and Walther are all absolutely amazing. This is a peaceful Oasis no phones no TVs just peace and the absolute stunning beauty of Costa Rica. Elias and the others took the best of care to make sure we have an unbelievable experience and like all the other reviews say.. we left with new friends. We saw monkeys and lizards and fish and chickens and cows and waterfalls. It was everything it promised to be plus a million times more. If you are looking for the true Costa Rican experience this is where you need to be. I can't say enough great things... I feel like I spent a week with my extended family #bestvacationever 😊

Amazing!!

  • 5 of 5

Where do you take 5 kids on a family vacation with kids ranging from 18 to 8? This was the perfect place! Think of this place as a mini all inclusive resort. But better. You have to do the food and hire Elias as driver and tour guide. We would've been lost without those two things. But, they are well worth the money. Luis is an excellent cook and Elias really is the perfect tour guide. He knows all the best places to go and you always feel safe when he is around. Plus, he's a lot of fun and easy to be around. This is by far the best vacation our family has gone on. The turtles! The horseback and four wheel tours! The zip lines! The deep sea fishing! The beaches!! Do all of it! I am so glad we have this trip as a family memory. It was an adventure of a lifetime...

Wonderful trip on so many levels

  • 5 of 5

We are avid travelers who put a lot of thought and research behind every trip and typically take care of our own transportation, food, and itinerary. However, this being our first time in this remote area of Costa Rica and hearing about the lack of road markings, we were happy to hear that we could be paired up with a host/driver during our trip. When we first met Elias, we knew we were in good hands. Not only was he extremely personable, but he knows almost everyone in the region and can pinpoint perfect travel destinations based on your preferences.

The house - simple, yet stunning. We are very particular about where we stay because after all, it will be your home for your vacation. Not only is the view magnificent, but it is tucked away and you are in your own remote oasis. With the beauty and tranquility, you have to realize that it will take you some time to get to your various destinations - but you are on vacation, and it's part of the adventure. There is no cable or wifi, but we seldom missed having it.

Luis, the chef, and Ester, the sous chef are wonderful. They are down to earth, friendly and want to make sure you are relaxing and feeling at home.

Our favorite activities during the course of the trip were zip lining, fishing (Nosara Sea Saw Tours is an unbelievable experience), laying out on the remote beaches, visiting the volcano and hot springs.

We are missing the house, the location and the people tremendously. We hope to return soon.

Pura Vida!

One of our most favorite vacations

  • 5 of 5

We found out about Casa Ostional from our neighbors, and we are so glad we took them up on their recommendation. It is truly a unique and amazing experience. We took our two boys, ages 11 and 13, and they had a ball. The home is beautiful, Elias is an amazing tour guide/host/Spanish teacher and Luis' food is incredible -- we did not go hungry. We especially loved the fresh juice at every meal. We fished, snorkeled, zip lined, took an ATV tour and enjoyed several beaches. The infinity pool is so beautiful to relax in and enjoy the view of the ocean and beautiful trees. We even enjoyed visits from the monkeys on several of the afternoons -- spectacular! I highly recommend this home -- it is an unforgettable experience. We plan to come back again soon.

Perfect spot!

  • 5 of 5

Our family (6 people) spent 9 nights here over Christmas 2016. This was our second visit to Costa Rica, and the first to the Guanacaste area. The house is simple and beautiful, or should I say simply beautiful! We chose to have the meals included and we did not regret it once! Wow. Chef Luis was outstanding! The meals were fabulous. Elías, our driver and host, was fantastic and took great care of us. We now consider them all friends! If you're looking for a quiet, beautiful, all-inclusive type of holiday without the crowds, this is it. Would most certainly come here again!

Guestbook comments from the owner

You were on spot -- Elias was amazing: fun, thoughtful, and entergetic. He really made the vacation an experience and an adventure! We did many of the typical vacation things: ziplining, and snorkeling, but when I asked everyone to rate their top two experiences, here's what we got (and there are more than 2 answers as not everyone's answers were the same):

Watching the Olive Ridley turtles lay eggs, and learning about the village and its history with the turtles;

Fishing for tuna and reds, and more;

Cheering on the sabernaros as they competed to capture rings off a hanging string;

Driving up to Monte Verde and our fabulous night walk where we saw a two-toed sloth, pit viper, a prorcupine in a tree itching itself, sleeping jays, a hiding tarantula, and so much more;

Riding the rivers with guides and seeing crocodiles, screech owls, bats...;

Visiting the Guaitil Pottery makers and learning about their history and art;

snorkeling.

Just terrific!
