Stoney Brook Cottage - Hot Tub - Grill - Fireplace - WiFi - Pets OK

This wonderful woodland cottage sits secluded on acres of ancient rhododendron, laurel, and majestic trees. The Stoney Brook Cottage is VRBO's largest rental on a stream in Brevard.

The 1960's cottage sits next to a brisk stream that tumbles down the mountainside where it has cut its path for centuries. View the mountain fauna along the stream from the covered deck as you picnic in the forest canopy. You can also retreat to the screened porch out back to sip coffee as the song birds enjoy the first rays of sunshine. Cottage does have stairs and is not recommended for the elderly.

The Stoney Brook Cottage is located only six miles from DuPont State Forest with it's incredible waterfalls and over 80 miles of hiking and mountain bike trails and also only six miles from the Pisgah National Forest where you will find the Davidson River which boast more trophy trout per mile than any other stream in the country as well as tubing and Sliding Rock!

Oh yes, the cottage has WiFi high speed internet. There is also a hot tub overlooking the stream, a gas fireplace, a game room with foosball, darts, board games, and cable TV in the living room and in the family room. Over 1600 square feet of heated living space provides you with a king bedroom with walk-in closet and another queen bedroom, two full baths, living room, fully-equipped kitchen, large game room with TV, couch, loveseat & rollaway bed, and full laundry.

When the day is through and you have hiked the National Forests and its waterfalls, you can retreat to your private cottage and still be in the middle of nature's beauty. It is everything you are looking for... Entrance to the cottage is on the lower level which has a bedroom, full bath, family room, laundry room and covered deck with the hot tub. Upstairs is the Living Room, master bedroom, another full bath, kitchen, covered deck and a screened porch. We're sure you will enjoy this cottage for generations to come!

Everything was perfect! The cottage had tons of space...indoors and out. The host provided everything i needed. Such peace and quiet, but loved the babbling brook. Ill definitely come back to Stoney Brook!!!

This is a nice place to stay. It is an older cabin but in good shape. The only thing that should be better explained is that the grill is one you would find at a park.

The picture did not accurately depict the place. After reserving the place, we got the list of cleaning that was expected to be done when we left. They place itself needed a good deep cleaning! After paying a cleaning fee, I did not expect to have to change the bedding for the next person. It also stated, to use the hot tub, you needed to read the info, and sign a form, which were not any place to be found. The road to get to the house was very narrow. Room for 1 and a half cars, so it was a nerve-wracking, getting to and from the house. The owner stated that the key would be left on the dining room table, but it took us about an hour to find where it really was. The kitchen faucets were installed backwards, and there was no mat mat inside the tub, which made it slippery when standing in the tub. If these issues were addressed, and updated photos posted, it would be a lovely place to stay. The place is 2 stories, so if you are elderly, you might find it hard to climb the stairs. There are also little drop offs, from one room to another, that should be marked, as I almost feel more than once. I don't know if the owner lives out of the area, and has someone oversee the places, but if that is the case, they had better find someone new!

Shadowy tranquil retreat

Loved Stoneybrook retreat. Very relaxing with the sounds of a stream that can b heard from both balconies/levels. Supplied with cool books, and games and puzzles to entertain. The only negative was visible signs and smell of previous pets. Still very much enjoyed our stay.

Amazing mom away time!

A girlfriend and I came up here Saturday after work for the night. This place was amazingly perfect for a much needed night away from the kids. We spent Saturday all night in the hot tub. The beds were great, havent slept that great in months. Definitely will be back as this will be my go to spot when traveleing to hendersonville. You can fit 2 to almost 5 people which would work out for families like mine!

Cozy Treehouse

We loved our stay at this property! The house was even better than the pictures. So quaint and cozy, so welcoming. The view off the porch was the best spot to bird watch and relax. It was a perfect location for all our hiking and mountain biking needs, short distance to downtown Hendersonville and Brevard for shopping. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials, and the hot tub was perfect after a long day in the trails. Highly recommend!!

Serene and Comfortable

My wife and I stayed here for an extended weekend trip for her birthday. It was a great location, 10-15 minutes from grocery stores, downtown and restaurants. We enjoyed a massage in Brevard, then got immediately in the hot tub, it was so relaxing. The hot tub was clean and a perfect way to end the evening. We enjoyed the patio for morning coffee, you really feel like you are in a tree house. The kitchen was well appointed and clean. I enjoyed the vanity room on the side of the master bedroom, it was perfect for getting ready for a night out. My only suggestion would be to add an outdoor flood light at the top of the driveway because it was very dark and hard to see, we were always on the lookout for bears! Other than that, the home was wonderful and we would definitely stay here again.

Nice little place, close to town and hiking trails

We ended up visiting the property during the Christmas cold snap. The house was just as promised. I grew up in PA and the house reminded me of some of the small homes there. My negative on the property. After booking and close to check in the owner did not leave instructions of how to get in. I called and emailed no response but was relieved to find the door open. I would of been mad if I had shown up and locked out. Also I seen an outside light over door but could not find the light switch, flash light in the drawer but didn't work. VERY dark to walk the dog.

House not what it appeared to be on-line.

Pros: loved sitting on the front porch enjoying nature with little humidity in Aug. Great AC system . Cons:A 1960’s house that needs serious upgrades & a deep cleaning. Musty smell , hair in the tub, a dead roach in the bedroom & a bunch of moldy grapes in a bowl in the cabinet. 3 lamps in the living area, none of which worked . Very dirty tables on the front porch. Not the same lovely furniture as shown in the porch picture. Babbling brook is almost non-existent unless you walk up the hillside to see more water….

The stairs going upstairs were very steep. It was difficult to move items upstairs and downstairs. The bottom floor had a musky smell as well. The cabin is in a great location. I have stayed in Babbling Brook and Falling Waters cabins previously. They are fantastic!

Location, location, location. The cottage is right next to a stream. During the summer you can sleep with the windows open hearing the sound of the falling water and have breakfast on the large porch. During the winter curl up in the living room with the fireplace.
