Kingfisher Cabin: Family gatherings, team builder, church retreats

Common living area with fully stocked kitchen, restrooms, 4 toilet stalls, 4 shower stalls and 4 sinks with TV in Main Kingfisher cabin. This includes four climate controlled cabin pods containing eight structurally sound bunk beds in each. The pods, main cabin are booked privately to you and your guests. There are other options within park for overnight guests. Fire pit, grill, pool, dock, hiking and kayaking. Watercraft are available for a weekend deal. Sleeps a total of 34. Back porch with lake view. Located in a gated park called Pine Acres Retreat, formerly a Girl Scout Camp. We have a total of eight overnight sites from tent camping to indoor cabins. We have hot spot available for your working needs on request. Event venues, banquet hall, picnic pavilions. Perfect for getaways, retreats, reunions and weddings. Located on beautiful Lake Allatoona just north of Atlanta and just 8 miles from Lakepoint Sporting Community. Peaceful, secluded, gated park just 6 miles from Interstate 75.

Great for large groups

We've stayed here multiple times with large groups and it never dissapoints. Great access to lake and during summer the pool is fantastic (and huge). The management team is very accommodating and quick to respond. We absolutely love it and will continue to come back.

Fabulous Fourth with Friends and Family🎉

Our large group of family and friends spent the July 4th weekend in the Kingfisher cabins at Pine Acres Retreat and a wonderful time was had by all! We swam in the lake and pool, enjoyed kayaking, hiking, grilling and eating!! The group is already talking about a return visit!!

Great reunion place for families

We had a reunion here with four families for a long weekend. The place was great for the kids, each family having their own pod and the kids enjoyed playing in the main cabin, in the field space, fire pit, pool, and lake (which was far away enough). The rental manager is very responsive. Be aware that all the bathrooms are in one building.

Sports team experience

We traveled with 24 collegiate men athletes and had a great time. Just know if you want privacy in the main cabin for coaches, there is none, try and get another separate cabin. But overall a really cool experience.

Unforgettable Birthday

Our family with ages ranging from 7-70 gathered here for a birthday celebration. Everyone had a fabulous time enjoying the lake with the kayaks, swimming in the pool, playing games in the large yard and making s’mores sitting around the fire pit. Having a washer and dryer in the main cabin was wonderful with the amount of people staying. The kids enjoyed seeing the deer in the morning along with the turtles and frogs in the lake. The cabins accommodated everyone comfortably. The only complaint we received from some of our family was that the mattresses and pillows were uncomfortable. This was an easy fix for us with having stores close by to pick up a mattress pad which seemed to solve the issue. Others that brought sleeping bags and their own pillows had no issues so this may be something you want to bring with you. The owner checked in on us to make sure everything was going well and quickly responded anytime we had questions. We had a wonderful time creating memories with our family and are already planning a trip to come back.

Homerun

We had a group of three families staying for a baseball tournament. The accommodations were fantastic for our group. The living space in the main cabin was a perfect size for our meals and for us to sit together at the end of the day in the living room. The pods were great. Each parent had their own, and the boys all shared one. So we were able to have our privacy when it was time for bed. The kids enjoyed the lake. We brought jet skis and used the kayaks that belong to the larger property. The pool is directly across the road from the house, and that was a bonus. We were able to cook and grill with ease. The only thing that we felt wasn’t exactly as we thought was that the double beds in the listing were the sofas in the living room. It wasn’t a problem, as there was plenty of space; it was just different than what we expected. Dawn (the property manager) was fantastic. She was easy to communicate with and helped make sure that we had everything that we needed. If we come back to this area to play ball, we will definitely book this property again. It was a homerun!

Family Reunion

Came to the area for a family reunion with our group of 16. This was the perfect choice. Each family had a cabin and we met in the “lodge” for meals and restroom/showers. Pool was right across from the kingfisher cabin and the lake behind us. We called to rent the canoes and kayaks and they brought them quickly to our cabin. So much fun for our family ages 2 to 61. Plenty of towels and kitchen equipment to use. Thank you!!

Perfect for "Family Camp"

Kingfisher Cabins is located at a facility called Pine Acres Retreat on 250+ acres owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and leased to Bartow County, Georgia Government. It is managed by the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau by agreement with Bartow County. Pine Acres Retreat was a Girl Scout camp until 2016. The Atlanta Girl Scout Council transferred their lease from the Corps of Engineers to Bartow County in 2018.

This is a natural retreat located minutes from I-75 and metro Atlanta. It offers the amenities we're accustomed to in a serene environment many of us never experience. This is a gated property with a resident manager on site. All of this property is edged by Allatoona Lake, with the large pool and opportunity for kayaking/canoeing, your days will be filled with outdoor enjoyment. Sitting in the shade, or around a fire pit at night, lighting bug catching, or making smores, this is a relaxation retreat we offer for you to enjoy.
