Just like home, and even better.
Barb and the Seward House was above and beyond our expectations. From an extremely clean and cozy home to the wonderfully stocked pantry our stay was extremely enjoyable. In some cases it felt better than home. We have already discussed future trips to Minnesota and especially to Seward House. I could not recommend it more.

Our New Go-To Property for Trips to the Twin Cities
How much did we love our stay at Seward House? Let me count the ways: 1. Probably the most thoroughly & thoughtfully stocked property we've ever visited. Not only had the basics that are so often missing like a dish rack and scrub pads, but an ample supply of snacks and food staples like milk, butter, eggs etc. Even toiletries! 2. The house itself is comfortable with all the modern amenities you'd expect in a newer home, without sacrificing any of the original charm. A classic south Minneapolis two story with updates like AC, high efficiency windows, dishwasher, washer & dryer etc. Herb garden in the backyard and a lovely front porch. 3. The Seward Neighborhood has always been one of our favorites. Centrally located, diverse, funky and hyper-local. I grew up in the Twin Cities and nowadays whenever I get back it seems like so much of it has become just like everywhere else. But not this hamlet or the larger Cedar-Riverside area. While there were some newer apartment buildings it's nothing like downtown Minneapolis or Uptown or the western suburbs. Make sure you check out the Milwaukee Avenue historic district one block over. I had never heard of it but wow, what a hidden gem! 4. Barb was a gracious host and really went above and beyond in making us feel welcome. Might not be the first neighborhood that comes to mind when you think of visiting MSP but give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

cute Minneapolis home
Extremely clean and well stocked home. This home provided the extra space I have come to appreciate for the adults and 2 teenage boys to spread out when vacationing. It was very clean and the owner was very quick to respond to questions ahead of our trip. We had no issues while staying there. We have stayed at many VRBO's and this one stood out as having an abundance of snacks and breakfast items -- so many options that would last more than the 3 days we stayed there... and little extras like a box of made in Minnesota chocolates and fresh flowers... all pleasant surprises. The location was central to the things we wanted to do - baseball game at Target field, Minnehaha falls park, Mall of America. There was a nice small back yard with fire pit that we didn't have time to use. It's within a short walking distance to some restaurants. We couldn't have asked for more!

Perfect home away from home.
The Seward House was absolutely wonderful. The home itself is just adorable with a perfect home feeling. Barb was wonderful in communicating with us and offering/providing any accommodations we needed for us and our 18m old baby. We highly suggest this beautiful home for your stay in Minnesota.

Like staying at your best friends cottage
Barb has thought of everything for what feels like a visit to your best friends cottage. Cozy garden in back for a morning cup of joe or a fire with smores. Comfy beds, with extra pillows available. Short walk to Rebecca's bakery for coffee, pastries or more is a hidden gem not to be missed. Quiet neighborhood, close to lots of fun things to do.

II'm a stay-at-home mom to eight wonderful children (aged 25 -13), and Grandma to two beautiful girls! I have a degree in mechanical engineering, but quit the professional life when my first child was born.

I love music, friends, and traveling, and if I can combine the three I am VERY happy! My favorite destination is the UK, but I'm always up for exploring new places and meeting new people.

My life motto is "Live while you are alive!"

Why they chose this property

When I decided to open a short term rental, I wanted it be able to provide 5 star accommodations at a reasonable price. I wanted a house with character that was close to public transportation and near downtown. This adorable house came up for sale and it was perfect in every way! My guests love the house, and they love how it feels like home whether they are staying one night or one week.

What makes this property unique

The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, close to downtown Minneapolis. We are also in close proximity of the University of Minnesota, Minnehaha Park, Lake Nokomis, and world class theaters and museums.
