The rental property is a cozy, comfortable, clean unit within a 5 to 7 minute walk to the entrance to the public beach and is one block from the main beach road (with regular bus service to and from Bridgetown). Sandy Lane beach (one of the best beaches in the west coast of Barbados) is an additional 10 minute walk from the condo. Holetown (the 2nd largest town in Barbados) is a 10 minute walk north from the condo with local services available like supermarkets, restaurants, health clinics and the brand new Limegrove Shopping Centre with great upscale shops (Louis Vutton, etc.), a new cinema, restaurants, etc.
The condo has one bedroom with a queen size bed and air-conditioning (bedroom only!). The unit has full fiber-optic internet service available for guests' use. There is also a brand new washing machine in the unit for guests' exclusive use that is a feature rarely found in similar units such as ours in the area. The kitchen has a fridge, stove, microwave, etc. and is fully equipped. The sitting\dining room has a couch (that converts into a small additional double bed), two separate lounging arm chairs, a ceiling fan, cable TV , DVD player and a CD-AM\FM radio unit. There is also a small breakfast\dining table with four chairs next to the kitchen. The en-suite washroom (100% renovated in 2010) has a shower only (no bathtub). The front enclosed patio has a table and chairs for lounging. A BBQ grill (charcoal) is available for use that can be rolled out to the front lawn for those who like to BBQ their fish or meats. There is also a private parking spot in front of condo (for a rental car, guest parking, etc.).
A pay-as-you go local cell phone is provided to guests for their use during their stay that will enable guests to make local and oversea calls (without incurring roaming charges) and also to receive calls from family and friends from abroad.
Guests are also provided with complimentary access to the Sunset Crest Property Owners (SCPO) swimming pool at the Beach Club (with direct access to the beach) that is a 7 minute walk from the condo. An electronic access card is provided to guests to be used to access the pool and its facilities. Free internet (WiFi) is also available by the poolside (password provided after a booking is made).
The condo is immediately next door to Sunset Mall that has a local bank, a large duty free store (Cave Sheppard), photo shop (with Internet service) and other smaller shops. There is also a mini-mall across the street that has a convenience store and coffee shop (with free internet). In addition, there is a local food van that sells lunch from Monday to Friday with local Barbados (Bajan) food such as chicken, pork, fish, etc., parks immediately across the street from the condo and has very reasonable prices that is a nice option from the more expensive restaurants in the area.
The condo's location immediately near the beach, shopping, restaurants, 24 hr. medical clinic and Holetown ensure that guests do not have to rent a car while in Barbados if they do not want to do so since everything is essentially within a 10-15 minute walk from the condo.
Green monkeys may also be seen in the neighborhood, particularly early in the mornings near the Europa All Seasons Resort (2 block walk from the condo). They usually feed by the ravine area (ask the locals where to spot them!).
There is also a brand new Boardwalk (completed in Dec 2013) by the seaside that runs from the local beach in a northerly direction towards Holetown and beyond and is home to additional beaches and beach-side bars and restaurants (approximately 1 km. to Holetown). This Boardwalk has also recently been extended beyond Holetown and now provides for a fabulous walk (45 min to 1 hour) all the way northwards towards Speightstown to Alleyne's Bay and is a fantastic addition of things to do in our local area.

Affordable self-catering base in a great location
We very much enjoyed our two weeks in this apartment. It had everything we needed and was close to all the main facilities in Sunset Crest / Holetown. The wifi, bedroom air-conditioning, mobile phone for local use and beach club card were all included within the booking price, which was great. Contact with the owners, Robert and Fay, was efficient, friendly and helpful, as was the service from their property manager on arrival and departure.
So nice we came back for a 2nd stay
We last stayed here in November 2016 and liked it so much that we returned in June 2017.
In that time the owners have made some improvements which in our view make the apartment even better. The main door has been replaced - this improves on the sound insulation (not that we ever found noise to be a problem on both of our stays anyway), microwave has been replaced, the bathroom shower is much improved and there is now a huge 16kg capacity washing machine which is a huge bonus. We were away for a month in total and it was very convenient to be able to machine wash our clothes, beach towels etc. on a regular basis.
As we were leaving Sarah, the representative was arranging an appointment for fibre optic internet to be installed. I presume that this has now been done.
We really like staying here. It is nicely appointed and maintained, in a great location and we hope to return again some time in the future.

It was a pleasure to have you return to our condo and we couldn't be happier that you appreciated the many changes that we have made over the last 6 months or so. We are still awaiting the installation of the internet service at the condo and, unfortunately, things do take longer to get accomplished in Barbados so the service is not quite setup yet. We will update our ad at the website when the in-condo internet service is finally installed but, in the meantime, the internet service from the coffee shop across the street is still up and running smoothly so, in any event, guests will continue to have internet service available to them when they stay at our condo.
Thanks once again and we look forward to the opportunity to be able to host you once again when you next decide to visit Barbados!

Great base to enjoy the area
Great value for money accommodation with places to eat, shop and pamper yourself right on the doorstep. Sarah and Benita the local contacts were friendly, and knowledgeable about the area, nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend this accommodation as a place to stay.

We are extremely happy that you enjoyed your stay and our condo's location and we are lucky to be located right next to the Sunset Mall (that has a large Cave Sheppard, CIBC-First Caribbean bank branch and a number of other small shops). Also, as you mentioned, having the Italia Coffee shop directly across the street in a mini-mall that has a local convenience store, hair dressing shop and another vegetarian coffee shop (Maya) provides extra value to any guest staying at our condo. Finally, thank you for mentioning our wonderful Barbados staff (Sarah and Bonita) without whom the service we provide our guests would simply not be possible. I will let them know about your gracious reference.

Well equipped condo in a good location
We stayed at Rob & Fay's condo in November 2016. Rob was very quick to respond to our initial enquiries and even sent links to some videos which he had put on youtube where he shows what is in it, and the surrounding area, which we found very helpful.
It is very well equipped and had pretty much everything we required. The shopper was particularly appreciated for trips to and from the supermarket. The kitchen is definitely a 'single person' kitchen, but there's everything you need - a good selection of pots, pans, utensils, fridge, freezer, oven etc. We found that the toaster kept setting off the smoke alarm, (you need to press the button in the middle to silence it) and (a tip) if you're cooking a lot it's helpful to use one of the provided fans to blow air into the kitchen area.
The bedroom had free A/C which was appreciated and an extremely comfortable bed.
The nearest beach is about 5 mins walk away - we found it easiest to walk along Flamboyant Ave & then turn down a small paved track towards the main road - cross over & the access to the beach is just about opposite.
It's easy to get into Holetown too, which takes about 10 minutes. Once again walk along Flamboyant Ave & then just carry on through the car park & past the Chattel Village.
Sarah, the property manager, was very helpful, Bonita the maid kept the place nice & clean and the taxi (Patrick) which was organised for us from the airport was excellent too.
We really liked the apartment and the very convenient location and hope to be able to have the opportunity to stay there again in the future.

We had not been aware of the smoke alarm being set off by the toaster as you are the first guest to bring this to our attention (it's good to know that it's working, if only perhaps too well..) so we will have to look at alternative options as regards its placement.

Great budget accommodation in an excellent location. Very close to coffe shops, restaurant, convenience/beach shop, bank, duty free shopping, bus stops ...and more importantly, right by Cheryl's food truck with delicious food, and only about a 5 minute or less walk to the beach! Owner and property manager were also very reliable and made us feel welcome. I would definitely stay here again!

recommended budget apartment
The apartment selected from the cheapest ones was a perfect choice, both for the position and for comfort.
The bed is comfortable and the shower is large and doesen't flood the bathroom.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook any dish.
The living room has a sofa that turns into bed that we used to sleep the child .
The house is quite warm , but equipped with air conditioning and fans .
The veranda is equipped with barbeque , but we have not used .
Two steps away there's the Beach House , a club with swimming pool and easy access to the beach . Free Wifi is useful for updating your social networks .
A few meters away you can find restaurants and supermarkets , and if you are fussy then there is also Luis Vuitton.
We are extremely happy that you found the condo suitable for your family's stay and that you were overall happy with the accommodations. Your travel time in August was an extremely hot time of the year to visit Barbados so it was unavoidable that you would find the condo hot at that time of the year. It is for that reason that we have air conditioning in the bedroom and the use of the A/C is included in the cost of the booking. Most places with A/C in Sunset Crest charge extra for its use but we do not. Finally, while we are a "budget" type accommodation, we do try to provide everything that a guest would need to be comfortable and to truly have a wonderful stay in Barbados and we are extremely happy that you were able to enjoy your stay. We look forward to a time in the future where you might want to visit Barbados once again and we might be able to assist in you having a great holiday there sometime in the future.

The property is located in the best location in Barbados (the West Coast) where the swimming is the safest and the ocean is not as wild and dangerous as the east coast. It is also located in Sunset Crest that is the largest neighborhood in Holetown (2nd largest town in Barbados). Sunset Crest is also the neighborhood immediately north of Sandy Lane that is one the most exclusive neighborhoods in Barbados and has the Sandy Lane golf facility, a world renowned golf course!
The beach immediately near the condo (5 to 7 minute walk) is also the home of a reef that is the main site for snorkeling in the area and hosts numerous varieties of colorful fish and the occasional local turtle. The newly built west coast Boardwalk (completed Dec 2013) also runs from the beach all the way up to Holetown and beyond and has beachside bars and restaurants as well as additional small beaches along the way.
