About Mark Livesey
Living in Kent and working in London, we bought Meadowview to escape the hustle and bustle and spend time together. So peaceful and relaxing, yet bike rides and walks, as well as top class restaurants, all within 5 minutes from the front door.
Mark Livesey purchased this Cottage in 2004
Why Mark Livesey chose Long Melford
The pretty flint cottage met all our requirements, close enough to beautiful restaurants and shops, but without the need to have to spend the weekend driving to get to them. Sat in the rear garden, you have uninterrupted views of Constable's famous water meadows and wildlife.
What makes this Cottage unique
Everything is so close at hand, yet the garden transports you to the heart of the countryside.

A very good experience
Location brilliant peaceful and clean
Cannot rate this property high enough. We enjoyed the view of the countryside and the cows and just a short walk to five or six pubs offering food and a couple of tea rooms. Location in the middle of a beautiful area and the people of suffolk so laid back. Very clean and a great nights sleep in the two double beds. Brilliant.
Thank you so much Jacqui for your lovely review. Would love for you to stay again. Best wishes Mark
The down side was on road parking , the road was very busy .
Overall a good holiday , plenty of excellent food in the village .
Thanks Chris and thank you for your email saying you had a great time. The village is very popular this time of year!
Beautiful Cottage in Suffolk!
This cottage was everything we anticipated and more! The owner was very attentive, sending emails to ensure we had received the check-in information details. The cottage was very clean and just the perfect location for our lovely holiday in Suffolk. The views from the back bedroom window were amazing. The Bucks Fizz upon arrival was an added bonus!
We had a wonderful holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We'll definitely consider this location again! Thank you!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. It was lovely to have you stay and we would love to welcome you back some day.
Cosy cottage in a lovely village
The cottage is cute and cosy, equipped with everything you need. We especially enjoyed sitting in the sunny garden reading. We didn’t take our dog but she would have loved the walks nearby (not the cows and neighbour’s sweet cats however!). There’s loads to do in Long Melford and the surrounding areas and plenty of good eating out options on the doorstep. Very enjoyable.
Thanks so much for your lovely review Adele and I’m really glad you enjoyed your stay. Would love to welcome you back to try more eateries!
Great location for the village and nice and warm cottage
Nice location for looking around Long Melford. Cottage nice and clean and cozy and warm during a cold spell.
Long Melford set in the stunning Stour Valley (immortalised by John Constable) boasts the longest tree-lined village street in the country. The village dates from the Tudor times and many of the fine buildings which were built during this time still remain, though today housing restaurants, art galleries, fashion boutiques and pubs. By the large village green sits the grade I listed Holy Trinity Church, with its Cathedral proportions it is regarded amongst England's finest churches. The magnificent Melford Hall also sits in the village, once frequented by Beatrix Potter, it is open to the public and still has her original Jemima Puddleduck toy. The fine Kentwell Hall sits on the edge of the village and is a must if you are a fan of Tudor re-enactments.
Long Melford is the perfect base for exploring the lovely Suffolk countryside, with many country walks setting out from the village and the South Suffolk Cycle Route is only yards from Meadowview's front door.
